Rania Khalek was joined by Tarik Cyril Amar, a historian from Germany and associate professor at Koc University in Istanbul, to discuss Israel’s descent into genocidal fascism. Prof. Amar addresses whether it’s useful to make Holocaust and Nazi comparisons and the real reason behind the West’s unshakeable loyalty attitude when it comes to Israel’s barbarism.

i'm 76 and i'm not surprised by how evil our leaders are and always have been . number 1 : there not leaders there freaks . they " lead countries into wars they instigated. Why ?
to remain in office unchallenged , feed the economy ( military industrial complex ) example ... Biden's calling congress to approve billions & billions in weaponry for wars . in the USA that enriches the armaments industries and allow USA to bully and vanquish any nations that don't approve of our " values " Trump would do the same things Biden is doing if he is re-elected because there is no space between the two freaks. no voting for the lesser of two evils in the upcoming presidential elections in 2024. many people are not even going to bother to vote because who's there to vote for thats not a bloody freak 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️ .
in America ( USA ) there is a saying often used and repeated consistently ... War is good for the Economy " sick statement but truthful . 😮😱.
wars i'm aware of since i was old enough to realize killed people and were sanctioned by this Nation :
Cold War , Korean War, Vietnam , Iraq , Syria , Lebanon, Afghanistan , Palestinian Israeli conflict, Ukraine and most likely Taiwan soon ... have i missed some ? no doubt many we are not aware of because we're not suppose. too.. classified top secret stuff 😮

I protested outside the Australian prime minister’s office yesterday. A pro Israeli guy comes along and straight away some spooks standing from a distance filming in case one of the protesters gets violent towards him. I started filming the spook and they left. They were obviously trying to create a response so they could plaster it all over the news.
If anyone wants to come down to alboes headquarters in marrickville there are 24/7 protesters outside. You can sign up to do shifts or just come and go as you please.
An Australian company that makes parts for the f-35 planes was temporarily shut down by protesters a couple of days ago. I don’t know if it’s back open or not.

“The people of South Africa will never forget the support of the state of Israel to the apartheid regime.” ~ Nelson Mandela on being released in 1990
In 1977, the United Nations passed a mandatory arms embargo against South Africa. Israel has repeatedly violated this mandate, equipping the white minority government with a number of weapons, including missiles, several kinds of aircraft, long-range missile boats and other lethal equipment. Israelis have also trained South African troops and provided advisers to the apartheid state in its military attacks against Angola.

Mandela did not persecute any Jews when he was freed. He appointed many to the highest levels of government especially the judiciary. He did not regard them as enemies.
He distinguished them from the Israeli government.
Of course he would call for a cease fire in Gaza now, but knowing what happened in the Hamas attacks which started the current nightmarish conflagration he would not have thought it a moral way to wage war.

Thank you to all who have responded or supported my comment. We are as one against the horrors we are witnessing. The interview gives us some understanding as to how this mass Israeli societal insanity has developed. At core, the Palestinians have, since the founding of Israel, always been viewed as vermin and, much like the aborigines of Australia, they have been hunted down and exterminated by the settler colonialists. The Western enablers of this genocide are not only destroying their own credibility in the eyes of the Global Majority, they are revolting millions in the collective West, and they are quite possibly, aiding in the destruction of the whole Israeli Zionist project. The ramifications of this disaster will echo for centuries.

Over 7,000 Children have been subjected to emergency amputations without medical aid or relief. Children having limbs removed with no pain relief. Many of these children have become orphaned and have no family members to give them any after care. These children with missing limbs are existing in a continuous war zone. These orphaned, disfigured, disabled, amputee children are then systematically starved of food water and basic humanitarian aid. This is not the horror story of one child. This is the reality of thousands of young people, children, infants and children. A young child whom has had both of his hands amputated asked his father "Will my hands grow back when I grow up ?" actually Zionists were making their play long before. At the same time as the Balfour declaration a prominent zionist called Chaim Weizmann sailed to America and curried the favor of the President at that time Woodrow Wilson, for his help in gaining Palestine as a homeland for the Jews .
There were many well organized and well funded Zionist groups inside America at that time. They were instrumental in helping Weismann get America into the war against Germany. Most of them had control of newspapers in and around New York and Washington and it was through using that power and influence that anti German lies were printed in these news papers. THANK YOU so much for this, Rania! I started making this comparison at least a month ago, unapologetically. It is all too apt. One of the experiences seared into my memory was going through the Holocaust Museum in DC about 20 years ago. In particular, some of the clips from the films of the women they did experiments on shook me and chilled me to the bone. I never ever would have predicted that I would see in real time something that reaches and then surpasses that level of vicious and horrific evil being carried out in front of my own eyes, and by the very people for whose memory the Holocaust Museum was designed.

@@facehugger3 Perhaps you are refusing to admit that apartheid Israel began its violent oppression of the Palestinian people with the Nakba in 1948. A typical action in that catastrophe: "On April 9, 1948, just weeks before the creation of the State of Israel, members of the Irgun and Stern Gang Zionist militias attacked the village of Deir Yassin, killing at least 107 Palestinians. According to testimonies from the perpetrators and surviving victims, many of the people slaughtered - from those who were tied to trees and burned to death to those lined up against a wall and shot by submachine guns - were women, children and the elderly. As news of the atrocities spread, thousands fled their villages in fear. Eventually, some 700,000 Palestinians would flee or be forcibly displaced at the outset of Israel’s creation, making the massacre a decisive moment in Palestinian history."

@facehugger3 The year of the first Nakba was 1948, when 750,000 Palestinians were forced out of their homes, having to leave the country. Around 10,000 more were simply killed (it could be more). Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) assembled a detailed history, along with pictures, of the Nakba in 1948. Regarding Gaza, the Six-Day War ended in 1967, and that's when Palestinians were pushed further into the West Bank and Jordan also lost and forfeited the land. Egypt lost the war in 1967 and forfeited Gaza. This is historical fact. I'm not Jewish and am giving you this information from memory.

And the other book he mentions is Christopher R. Browning's 'Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland'. In one of the later editions he also, if I recall correctly, engages with the argument of 'Hitler's Willing Executioners'.
Blurb from Browning's book: Christopher R. Browning’s shocking account of how a unit of average middle-aged Germans became the cold-blooded murderers of tens of thousands of Jews-now with a new afterword and additional photographs.
Ordinary Men is the true story of Reserve Police Battalion 101 of the German Order Police, which was responsible for mass shootings as well as round-ups of Jewish people for deportation to Nazi death camps in Poland in 1942. Browning argues that most of the men of RPB 101 were not fanatical Nazis but, rather, ordinary middle-aged, working-class men who committed these atrocities out of a mixture of motives, including the group dynamics of conformity, deference to authority, role adaptation, and the altering of moral norms to justify their actions. Very quickly three groups emerged within the battalion: a core of eager killers, a plurality who carried out their duties reliably but without initiative, and a small minority who evaded participation in the acts of killing without diminishing the murderous efficiency of the battalion whatsoever.
While this book discusses a specific Reserve Unit during WWII, the general argument Browning makes is that most people succumb to the pressures of a group setting and commit actions they would never do of their own volition.
Ordinary Men is a powerful, chilling, and important work with themes and arguments that continue to resonate today.

As much as the conversation here is fairly accurate, I will tell you the number one similarity between Gaza today and the Holocaust is that you have a group of people who believe themselves to be supreme beings and chosen by God so by default can do no wrong. This will answer all of the questions you are asking as to how Israelis are complicit during this massacre. The astonishing part is the Jews would become the same thing that nearly destroyed them during World War 2. It’s as if theirs a cultural vengeance built up over the years that allows them to not see the parallels and uplifts their egos as a sense of revenge and also a deluded reformation that they are no longer the “vermin” but someone else is. There’s a deep physiological aspect to this where a traumatized race can be lead to these extremes down the road. I wonder how and if this will be the case for the Palestinians. The cycle and continuous war needs to end.

The situation in Gaza Ghetto can best be compared to the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. in both cases, rounded-up residents (Jews then)were held captive under inhumane conditions, with the difference that the Warsaw Ghetto lasted only a few years while these inhumane conditions in the Gaza Ghetto have lasted for three generations (75 years)

28:29 Instead, those countries are bombing Yemen, the only country trying to stop the genocide. It’s not normal. It turns my stomach every single day. We’re all traumatized by witnessing this and feeling helpless to do anything but yell on social media, and marching. None of which will bring any of the dead back! 😢💔

Please, please, please....put this in the public domain for everyone to see. I live in Germany and noone talks, speaks up etc. I am feeling VERY desperate because noone seems to be even interested in trying to understand what is really happening. I think Tarik Cyril Amar has done a wonderful thing in explaining the situation and how it is evolving. I have understood this from the beginning, I was so shocked at first that I only spoke to my direct family, who were themselves unsure. I have activated myself now and am trying to inform people carefully and respectfully about what is really happening, the processes, the behaviours, the manipulation, the propaganda etc. I have a direct plea to Mr Amar to come to Germany and help explain this to normal German people. I know many lovely Germans who are just not able to grasp what is happening and have not searched for the truth. Many are afraid and many are running for cover as we saw in the Berlinale Film Awards with the clapping incident and the well kown politician said she was only clapping the Israeli award winner not the Palestinian!!! This is crazy, dangerous cowardice and I am still hoping that she will stand up and acknowledge her ridiculous and pathetic behaviour!! Yes, I may be waiting a long time!!

Previously, « Aryan Race / chosen race »,.. « God's Chosen People », Just After, Names and times differ, goals and actions emanate from one source.
The torch was passed in the 1940s with a radical amendment which consisted of claiming victim status at the time of the commission of massacres against Palestinian women and children and claiming to be the most moral army in the world.

I find Tarik one of the most interesting scholars I've ever heard speak about this matter. He is one of the most articulate people I've heard speak on the subject, he's very well thought out, and he brings dimensions to this conflict I hadn't even thought of looking at. Very interesting interview. Very thoughtful, very insightful. Scary, but necessary. Thank you for all your work, and for informing us, of what is yet to come. I wish with every fibre of my being that the twisted road our world is being plunged into starts straightening out at some point. But seeing how, NOT ONLY, are our world leaders not stopping these monstrosities, but they are STILL - DIRECTLY - encouraging the destruction and the mutilation of a people... simply because they were born in the wrong spot on the globe... even if we DON'T get vaulted into WWIII, I am still very afraid of what our liberties and our lives might become in the not too distant future.

Thank you Rania, Tarik and Break Through, yet another outstanding and important interview.
The demonisation that Professor Amar speaks of Palestinians has a long history, and importantly a colour coding that designates a certain phenotype, that has been for a long time been disseminated throughout visual media in the west. It is the visual equivalent of the ideological antisemitism, with added element of visual, physical signifiers: brown/olive skin, brown eyes. This can very easily be seen in the visual cultural out of Europe and the United States over the past half century. It used to be subtle, but has become almost overt over the last 20 years or so. It is almost scientifically applied, and once one latches onto this highly devious mechanism and its constituents, it will open an entire realm of understanding how white supremacist, racists use culture as a weapon, a eugenic of writing an entire segment of humanity out of the gene pool, in this case it is that, through phenotype designation, the Arab/Middle Eastern person; in the same way that white racists did this to Black peoples from the 16th century onwards.
For us who have lived in Western Europe, we have seen this mechanism put into place and normalised iteratively, where an entire generation has been visually programmed to hate on sight, literally reacting to stock images neurologically programmed into their minds by repeated exposure to negative, highly and carefully constructed negative stereotypes.
What’s happening in Gaza is not haphazard, or merely just reactive, but actually is a showing of deep understanding of Israelis of their white racist progenitors, and sponsors in Europe and the United States. In short, they understand their audience, racist psychopaths, better than most humanity imagines. R

Long before what's happening in Gaza, I said many Zionists objected to what happened in Holocaust largely because it was them, but when it's happening to Gaza, it's because they feel they are gaining some advantage for their equivalent of a Zionist Reich if you will. It's not really different. The Germans also wanted to clear Slavic lands in many areas to build German settlements, to have a German garden of Eden.

How can you fault a group for going past an eye for an eye knowing that their enemies would eliminate them from existence if that had the means to?
When the Palestinians, or any Muslims, yell ahah ackbar at the killing of non Muslims (as they did on Oct 7), it’s not a cry for mercy it’s a celebration of the death of a non Muslim. It means my god is better than your god as evidenced by the killing of one of yours.
