@@tape4767 no, doki doki panic Is a nes game that was supposed to be super mario bros 2 but third party developers put their characters inside of it but then Nintendo rereleased the game with the mario characters it was originally intended to have only that the fake one was only in Japan and the original super mario bros 2 got released only in Europe.(at least until super mario all stars) Japan on the other hand got the lost levels as sequel to Super Mario Bros, and that is the worst mario game of all time so Europe and America got lucky

In terms of Super Mario World ROM hacks, I'd recommend checking out the New Super Mario World games by Pink Gold Peach. They are a bit on the harder side (especially Around the World, my god is that one difficult), but at the same time, they're a heck of a lot of fun, and manage to pull off some very interesting things.
