I enjoy how fans managed to make this, but all Nintendo could do for their 2D switch Mario game, was port over the wii U game, and add only a hand full of things

Bathanel levels that you have completed but are purple instead of blue mean they have a secret exit in them.
I like the fact that it shows you that there’s another exit to clear in a level you beat by making the circle purple instead of blue.

When I first saw the first level on TH-cam, I knew it was going to be a more clever hack than a simple recolor of NSMBWii.
Then I saw this video and it still stunned me.

Foreground objects do exist in NSMBWii--the game is separated into three "layers". Mario interacts with Layer 1; Layer 0 is the background and layer 2 is the foreground. Layer 2 is often for the little spotlight-like caves, like the cave hidden near the rolling hill in 1-1.

Hey bathaniel nandy I got some tips for you for this game after you beat a level if it shows pink that means that a secret exit in the level and there's also a secret world if you get the star coins also look very closely on to the checkpoint flag because whatever world you in it will show its symbol of that world so in world 1 it shows a Yoshi egg on the flag and on the other world like a desert it will show a cactus or pipe in the section you in right now and I hope this is very useful for your future play through of this game and also there are not 8 worlds in this game there are a bunch of world in this game which reminds me that there's also little secrets bonus islands to go on if you find the right secret exit in one level
