@@bovineintervention6001 Yeah, it looks more like the top of a volcano but looking from the top down, not the other way around, which ends up looking really weird.
Someone should *absolutely* make a rom hack with levels based on this feature.

there was a simpleflips competition hack called vvvvvv 64, if only it used this
Apparently in peach's slide there's two triggers: one that starts the display, and one that starts the counting. If you hit the display but not the counter, you can effectively get a time of 00"00'0.

If there was a block to flip gravity instead of doing it on command, I could see some excellent Galaxy-esque levels being the result.
Runningon Cylinders or it replacing the jump, you can only flip on a floor or ceiling.

The reason why bowser Kills you is because mario is programmed too warp to the nearest solid ground beneath him. Hence, if you were to grab bowser off the edge on a normal playground you would teleport down to the death barrier. At least it shows you kept hold of bowser after gravity changed.

The top of the courtyard
The bowser peach painting
Going up the infinite stairs
The very top of the castle
And a bunch of other stuff

Because of the way collecting stars works, you can get one on the death barrier. If it’s a 100 coin one, you’ll die as soon as the dance ends. But for most stars you become invincible to all forms of damage during the dance. You’ll be booted out before you become vulnerable again.

The getting stars when upside down thing happens because Mario touched the death barrier which is a solid surface, so he can do the star grabbing animation on it

Fun fact: You can't die during the star animation. If you grab a star in midair, as soon as Mario lands on something, even the edge of the death zone, he does the dance and you get the star.
my first thought when he entered Jolly Roger Bay: "Awww yeah, red coin star while the ship's underwater." then I had the thought that I'm pretty sure there's one underneath the submerged ship and so it still wouldn't be possible.

I speedran this without the A button on release. I recommend you try it for a video some time. I know how to get up the endless stairs without BLJ so you can do 50 star speedruns but it's not very well documented, I think I'm the only runner. there's a vid of it up but that's it. I'll make a guide when my time is better
