So for the context of season 3 being rough- it is because it is a setup for season 4. I’ve watched the series about 6 times through and season 3 to 4 is so rewarding watching back. So hang in there ladies I love your commentary!
Miranda is voiced by Barbara Steele She was THE 1960s horror actress. Queen of the scream queens. Love she's in castlevania. A salute to who came before😊
The entire joke with “what the fuck is toilet paper” is because this was released during the start of COVID. When people were purchasing all the toilet paper lmao And merry Christmas meesh and dee!
Except all the animation and dialogue was probably done like a year before it aired, because of how animated shows generally work, so it's really just a coincidence that worked out pretty well.
A very accurate summation of this season, in my opinion. That said, it lays important groundwork for the next season, which is one of my favorites, so hang in there! Loving your reactions! ❤
Honestly i like that this season slows down...so many shows are always trying to ramp up and out do itself, its nice to see a show just take a breath and allow things to level out. And it makes what came before even better, and what comes next even bigger too
I remember the first time I watched this show. I just wanted something in the background. Suddenly it was 5 AM and I had to take a break because I couldn't keep my eyes open, but I was in the middle of season 4. You think nothing is going on, but Castlevania isn't episodic as many other shows. The show tells a season-long and a story spanning the whole show. Trust me on this, you won't know where this is going until you arrive. But looking back, the way will have been as worthwhile as the destination. At least it was for me.
I still loves it. A combo of no Dracula, Alucard in Limbo, Isaac traveling, and everything else being a massive mystery does take the pace way down. Worth it in the end. BELIEVE!
Once you finish season 4, you'll understand why season 3 was how it was. They are building up multiple stories at the same time to set the stage for what happens in season 4 and why things happen the way it does. Some people get it, others prefer to just take a dump on season 3. Sure season 3 isn't action filled like 1 and 2, but me personally knowing how season 4 ends, I don't mind it at all. Merry Xmas to both of you and anyone reading this.
Season 3 is good! I think it's supposed to keep us on the outskirts because our heroes are out of the loop themselves. There are many moving parts that if I remember correctly, start to come together in the next 3 episodes. Remember the season started with our heroes very cocky/over confident (with good reason, they defeated Dracula.) So we see them kind of struggling to not be in the big fights but in this seemingly odd town, where they have to be more stationary and mentally figure out this feeling they have of something more sinister going on. That was my take when I first watched Season 3. Can't wait to watch the rest with you both!
I can’t remember how it released, but since I binged this season, I didn’t feel it slow. However, I still maintain that the voice directing in every season, but especially this one, is so unnatural. The acting and dialogue varies from fine to great, which helps compensate, but the voice directing feels like it came out of Dark Souls/Bloodborne, but unnaturalness works there because those worlds are dead, and the “survivors” are even more dead inside. With a few exceptions of course.
This season is absolutely necessary for set up but it is most definitely a set up season, so can not blame you for feeling like this season is dragging. I will say all of the character focus will pay off big next season!
Last 2 episodes of this season and next season make these episodes extremely important. Can't wait to you guys get to the last 2 episodes because you're going to get why this season was paced this way. The last 2 episodes and season 4 don't work without the pacing of these episodes.
Season 3 is an important set up for season 4. I think that's its biggest problem. The same way that season 1 was just a set up for season 2. Introducing characters and concepts that don't fully pay off until the next season. It's certainly still worth watching, but it's just a sample of what's to come later. Also, season 2 was a REALLY tough act to follow. After storming the castle, fighting the generals then Dracula himself, nothing was ever really going to live up to that level of action. It was bound to slow down and be a bit disappointing after that confrontation.
Merry Christmas, M & D. No argument about the flaws of season 3. The story lines are good but their pacing is really sluggish. Given that the plot lines are not directly connected, they could of have had a mid-season climax by resolving one of the plots in E4 or 5. Glad you're hanging in there though. Without spoiling anything, I'll say most of the plot threads they're laying out pay off in the last 2 episodes. Season 3's redeeming feature is the way these plots resolve in a satisfying way without undermining the next season.
I think there’s two different crowds that enjoy the show. For people more like me, season two and three are the peak of the show’s writing and in season four, every conversation makes me want to turn it off.

“What the fuck is toilet paper?” This season dropped during the beginning of the pandemic so it was extremely relevant!😂😂
Lmaooo so much better with this context in mind now lol

Imagine Miranda at her peak
She must be a crazy strong Forgemaster at her prime

I loved Miranda, I have big appreciation for the forces of evil turned docile

Had to force myself to push through and finish season 3. I’m glad I did but man it was rough
Merry Christmas 🎄
Happy holidays!🎄❣️
Trevor is scary when is sober
100% right, but season 4 is well worth pushing through the 3rd one.
This show/season being slow is such an honest opinion that I share with you.
We feel you fam 🥲

Am i the only one that enjoys this type of slow story telling?
