Lenore understands the human anatomy, specifically the circulatory system Hector is easier to manipulate if more blood is directed somewhere other than his brain
Gotta give lenore props at least for being cunning. Its not just that shes buttering him up and playing to his affections. Shes also been very quietly disarming him and removing whatever advantage he thinks he may have or even whatever ability he may have to harm them. At the end of the day thats what real abusers do, disarm and isolate you so you've got nothing left but them.
Is she cunning...or is Hector just easy to manipulate. He just fell for a manipulation 5 mins ago from Carmilla. I'd say his naivety is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
I know Hector loses his freedom in the end but when you think about it he actually kinda has the best outcome out of all the characters this season. He will live out his time in a part of the castle that has accommodations AS NICE as the rest of the sisters, gets to help fulfill his actual goal of culling the human race instead of exterminating them, and gets to have amazing SEX TRAINING from the hottest of all the vampires. And when she says she made him her pet to quote Norman Reedus in Blade 2 “I’d rather be a pet than cattle.”
Sypha is still my favorite character this season. She’s like a fusion of Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch. She gets excited for killing monsters the way Goku gets for a fight.
See I'm first comment. That's how much I've been waiting for Castlevania. If you keep watching, you have to please fill this spot with Castlevania: Nocturne cos you will seamlessly start season 2 by the 16th of January to be caught all up.
Next episode finna go crazy. LOL. You’ll finally get some answers and some other wild moments. Also, I did not realize how many Lenore simps there are out there. That woman is manipulative and wicked.
I remember my confusion with Taka and Sumi's motives. I didn't know what to make of them, one moment they were sweet, the next one they were sus as hell. But that's what I like about this show. The last two episodes of S3 are fire, can't wait!
I love this season a lot. The character exploration and the set up for the next season is crucial. It's not like previous season with an obvious goal in mind, but I think that the characters have enough depth and complexity to carry the story. This season is the best kind of slow burn, because the pay off is really cool. Episodes 9 and 10 go HAM, which is they're among the best rated episodes of the series on IMDB. It's refreshing to see such strong character work in mainstream media, even more in animation. Then again, the head writer of the series, Warren Ellis, was a published author before this series and it shows. His stories might be slower than the average mainstream TV show, but the depth and complexity, not to mention the comedy, shows the guy knows how to tell a compelling grimdark story.
i do think i liked Lenore more when she was telling the truth ; i think lying more than was needed to get that ring on his finger cheapens something for me because i can appreciate the idea of a frank diplomat with a merchant-like way of arriving at mutual benefit -
Yer that comparison between shonen anime like demon slayer and castlevania try animations is spot on. Shonens over explain all the time and gets really annoying holding the audiences hand throught everything whereas shows like castlevania the characters talk like actual humans and leave the audience to pick up on context clues and double meanings in things.

Damn on point - just makes you feel even worse for Hector.

"Everybody in the world is weird." -Meesh & Dee, 2024
Can't wait for y'all to watch the next two episodes. In particular, I love Isaac's scenes in Eps 9 & 10.
We don;t know if Dracula's dead? What needs to happen to the man for him to be MORE dead?
Season 3 is a lot of setup that pays off in season 4. The stuff that doesn't make sense now may make more sense later on.

Actually, I think it was Hector who created the night-creature in the priory.

Breaking a man's leg for kicking a cat. Since when is that a bad thing?
