Rent is ridiculously high but blame the blithering idiot in the big White House not the people he inflicted in on.
To relocate, they will likely need first month's rent, last month's rent, and a security deposit which is thousands of dollars in Miami. The average American doesn't even have $400 in savings in case of emergency let alone these elderly folks who may on a fixed income. It would take months to save NOT 30 days. These people had sold their homes to be able to afford assisted living in a place where they weren’t responsible for lawn care or home repairs. They expected it to be their home until they died. The facility had advertising that made it sound like that was the plan. Many of these folks, my mom included, didn’t want to have to impose on their kids. To relocate, they will likely need first month's rent, last month's rent, and a security deposit which is thousands of dollars in Miami. The average American doesn't even have $400 in savings in case of emergency let alone these elderly folks who may on a fixed income. It would take months to save NOT 30 days.
The landlord is so wrong for this! Even a bank gives a property owner more time to catch up on payment that their landlord.
