Will doing this cause issues like how cleaning the electric throttle body would, or is it safe? Just bought an 8th gen civic and trying to clean/tune it up a bit
No issues it's safe
1:28 Do we need to apply sealant/silicone on the surface before fixing back?
No. There is a gasket which you can replace if it needs replacing.
Where to get gasket?

I have a 2010 civic 1.8 and when my cars hits rpms higher than 4k I begin to smell an exhaust fume smell entering the cabin through the a.c. vents. Would a bad egr valve cause that? I've changed catalytic seals and exhaust seals and it did not help.
I don't think so. Check for exhaust leaks. Check the EGR valve gasket.
Thanks for the video, nice and easy.
Will this method work on a 2006 Honda pilot exl?
Yes all cars in that matter
What kind of cleaner did you use?
Throttle body cleaner. Check description.
What does a EGR Valve do?
Exhaust gas recirculation, allows some exhaust gases to go back into the engine.
Hi,what sprays can I use? Throttle body cleaner or wd40? Thanks
It's in the description.
MrRangerZr1 Thanks for the reply, keep up the good work, videos are great.
Do you recommend cleaning the valve or replace it on a accord with 225k miles , I know oem are expensive and probably get an aftermarket
No sir. If it ain't broke don't fix it. These generally last forever on a maintained car.
Aftermarket parts cause more headache than anything. OEM or nothing if you're replacing.
@@MrRangerZr1 thank you , I order one aftermarket but they don't have similar holes like the oem , so I rather be safe than sorry down the road , I will go ahead and clean it really well
