Karen, I knew as soon as Roger walked into your life a wedding was inevitable. You two are such a beautiful couple! I’m really hoping you will share some of the wedding with us. I can’t wait to see your dress and how beautiful you’ll look in it. I’ve been enjoying and learning from your journey now for over four years and I find you truly inspirational.
Some fancy prices today, don’t leave your purse/wallet down on stalls, it makes me nervous. I often feel the same when you casually put your Purse/handbag in your shopping cart. I never miss your videos, as I said before you are the most polished and polite of treasure hunters 😁
You could always hang your boxes on a shelf from the rafters, it wouldn’t take up any space. The sink could be used to give something a good soak or scrubbing. You could put a shelf behind your washer and dryer to hold your detergents and cleaners. Take advantage of your walls and rafters for storing things. Can’t wait until you share wedding plans with us! Do we love a good wedding story, yes we do! 😊
Karen you are such an inspiration to me, I am 54 and just started reselling the beginning of this year, I love it, it is my hope to become a full time reseller, and leave my full time job. I have learned so much watching your videos, I am definately working on getting whats mine. Thank you again.
Oh Karen, I would really reconsider getting rid of the washer and dryer. These new front loaders and some top loaders are NOT able to do many things that we like doing...Soaking something disturbs the whole line up. Please check into it. They have sensors on them and they will drive your nuts.....other than that, girl,,,you have your work cut out for you in that basement. God bless you
I agree . The new washers are computerized, no agitators, which often bunches up the items, and then I have to reset it, with a different cycle. A pain.
I did hear on another video, that the regional boxes can be used as long as you ship priority and tape over the bar codes and the words “regional”. If anyone knows otherwise, please comment.
Karen, I think a nice storage shed is a great idea for things like Christmas stuff and other things you don't need inside and would make more room inside. You are the most organized person I have ever seen!!
Really enjoyed this video. Especially because it was a little longer than usual. Fun to see what your plans are to stay organized and give Roger his own space as well. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Love the flea market footage.
Karen your such a lovely lady ,I’m so glad you take us with you ,you have brought so good items today .The pot for 50 cents is beautiful sending lv Ann uk ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
You are one of the hardest working women I have ever seen Karen. You've accomplished so much already to get your basement ready for Roger to move in. Good for you. I don't know how you do all that and your business too. You never cease to amaze.
Prices are such a funny thing. I live i the Netherlands and could not sell that painting (the 60 dollar one) for even € 10 if my life depended on it, even without damage. I sometimes have paintings like this left over when I sell the old frame. Most of the time I end up putting them here in the street in a ‘free’ cupboard for someone to take. Wish I could give them to you to make a profit on, but the shipping would defeat the purpose. 😹
Hi Karen, my post office told me I could still use the regional rate boxes even though they discontinued regional rate options. They would calculate based on Priority mail rates for the size of the box and weight. I like the sizes of the regional rate boxes.
@@lavenderclothesline I think most buyer have no idea about the working details like that. I would keep using those boxes, they are such a great size.
I came here to tell you the same thing! Still totally useable, just have to use for priority mail. Also think getting an outdoor storage shed is a great idea! 😊
Please keep us informed of how the renovation is going and Roger moving in with his inventory. It’s very interesting to see different parts of your life plus the thrifting🥰😍
I'm glad that you explained about extending the basement wasn't going to work. So glad that you are including us in your exciting plans by sharing the different choices you are making.
Mud Sink (concrete Utility Sink): the last one I handled, that had to be drug up out of a basement is now a garden planter alongside my new pole barn workshop. The sink, without the frame, sits at grips underneath level on a few patio bricks. It usually takes a couple helpers to lift them out of the metal frame and wrestle them up and out. Some folks just sledge hammer them into pieces, but that always seems a waste to me.
Karen, I watch you every morning and every night. I am so into information. And you are so good. I didn't go with eBay because I didn't get much business so I went to Etsy. I went on a holiday and now that I got back home I loij up my listings and they don't bring up my listings. I wouldn't bother you but you are my mentor. Thanjs Debra
Was at goodwill yesterday and met someone shopping, asked him if he resold. He said he’s a hoarder and “the stuff on my first floor holds up the stuff on my second floor.” I told him he needed an eBay store and a TH-cam channel, and I told him about yours. He looked up your channel right on his phone. I recommended he watch for just the enjoyment of it even if he didn’t sell.
Lol i have a bunch of photos with Skid Row I used to date a guy who what is touring with Cinderella a band skid-row was touring with! Are fun days I'll always be a head banger!... You can make a fortune from those T-shirts!!!
Just want to say, how happy I am for you and Roger. This blessed time doesn’t happen all the time. So happy to see this new journey ❤ thank you, and have much care.
That brown bowl you picked up is a lot like a bowl i have that belonged to my great grandmother. Same type of rim but the bottom has a ring around it for like a small pedestal that has the same bare clay as in the edge of the rim. It's over 100 years old! Nice find!
I have learned so much from watching your videos. And your methods are so inspiring...but most of all your kindness and sweet spirit really shines through all you are doing.😊
I am amazed at your energy and stamina. Your storage facility is beautiful. I wish mine looked an inkling like that. Great job! Love the flea market videos.
Round Clothing Racks are convenient but do take up more floor space then a row of in-line clothing racks against a wall. Supported against a wall can also take a mix of both single and double high clothes racks. Same is true of your Facebook Area. Holding items on the floor in a Single Layer high will always consume more space then a shelf, even if the shelf only has 2 levels.
Hi Karen, love seeing the yummy food! The USPS Regional A and B boxes can still be used as Priority Mail. Just use priority and the measurements. I miss those sizes!
As you know my father was Greek so I grew up going to our local Greek Orthodox Church. We had a large Greek festival every summer & when I was a young girl (like 6-11 years old), I got to cook with the elders of the church to prepare the food & desserts for the festival. They are some of my favorite memories😊 You have made a lot of progress already in the basement. Wow lady, you sure stay busy!
Loved going shopping with you at the flea market! Some really neat treasures! But nothing beats how organized your basement/business storage area. You were able to gain so much room for Roger's reselling area. Amazing and thoughtful ❤️
Your space is incredible. Just amazing to look at, so much potential and a blessing to have. I do agree about the washer and dryers nowadays. These washers today and I’ve spent over $4000 for a washer and dryer. Such a waste. You just never know if your clothes are washed anymore I miss the older models. You didn’t even need softener, your clothes would smell nice and crisp.
Hi Karen, I learned a lot from you, thank you! I thought I'd share a couple of things that I learned about, that help keep my costs low. I discovered on Craigslist a recycling company locally, that gives out for free packaging peanuts. They get rid of them and people can have them for free! I got a van full, probably about 4-6 months worth of packing peanuts for me. They sure saved me a lot of money in shipping costs. Second, I found quite inexpensive "produce bags " at cash and carry, that I use for clothing when I store them in inventory. I also use them for hard goods. Way less expensive than Amazon or zip lock bags
Wow!!! Your basement looks so nice. Looks much bigger! I did not think you would have enough room in the basement for Roger and his goodies. But you do...is amazing and everything is still so organized. Great job, Karen!!
Cricket is a boot jack. Step on the back of it with one foot, and wedge the heel of the boot on your other foot into the front to get a grip to pull off.
Shed Buy: over the years I’ve bought, assembled and built several styles, sizes and types, so if you are considering it, here are some tips. Get a larger unit then you are considering and if you are planning to use shelves, install them before starting to fill it. Same is true of electrical power. If you are close enough to run electrical power, for at least 1 exterior light, interior lights and an outlet, do it at the start. In your case you will have an electrician on site a few times for your remodeling anyway. Metal sheds that come in kits are cheap, but rust and sweat. It’s hard to store cardboard in them. Rubbermaid sheds look good initially, but the plastic coloring fades over time. They also sweat, so items stored inside do better in sealed totes. Wood framed sheds can be purchased already assembled and delivered to the site, but sometimes the physical access to get them in the side/back yard can mean pulling out a fence section or two, if you don’t have a wide enough access gate. Wood sheds do much better with regard to condensation issues. Pre-build sheds tend to be the most expensive option, per square foot and are limited in width and height to be trailered down the road. Stick built sheds do the best job for general storage, in my opinion, for a few reasons but do tend to take longer to construct. Because more venting can be added, I think they have the least issue with condensation. I like them better because they can be customized with regard to size, height, exterior finish (cement board, clapboard, T1-11, etc), roof material choices and architectural design. Electrical wiring, interior finish, choice of insulation (if desired), exterior painting, built in shelving and lofts are all pretty straight forward since they are built like mini houses. If you decide to go that route, I’d suggest doing it early before the new addition makes it harder to get a delivered fully assembled shed shifted around in the back yard. Space will obviously be tighter after the addition. And if it is already in place (built or delivered) the electrical work becomes easier while equipment for trenching and the tradesman are already there doing the addition.
Those big sinks were used for the wringer washers so that sink is about as old as the house! T he washer was for washing and sinks were used for 2 rinses! My mom used this type of washing until the mid 1990's! I grew up south of Pittsburgh, Pa. I have been living in Montana for the last 27 years and going to move back east to be closer to her!
I’m thrilled to watch the progress on you addition. I am also in the process of doing the same thing to my home. I’m so interested in learning from what you’re doing. I’m very happy for you and Roger. You are both very deserving people and I know you’ll have a wonderful life together.
Such an exciting time for you. The new basement looks just super and I’m sure you two will have a lot of fun hanging out down there pulling your sales😀. Walking the flea market with you was a lot of fun. Thanks for taking us with you.
Hi Karen. Thanks for another great video. You don't have to return those regional boxes. You can use them up on regular priority shipping - just treat them like regular priority and pay by weight and size.
I agree with another subscriber on keeping the washer and dryer!! I had one of those sinks in my turn of the century home! I think it was made of concrete! I'd leave it! How exciting to be getting a husband!!!
Hi Karen, You are not tooooo far from me. I am in Montgomery County PA. I just discovered the Goodwills in DE have 30% off for ages 55+ on Wednesdays AND, of course, no sales tax. Real bargains! You and Roger could make a date of it! And I would watch your adventure. 😂
KAREN! You have truly inspired me to start thrifting! Unfortunately, my health has me down 99% of the time but I've actually gone through my own items to see their value and I am shocked! I have some pretty valuable things that I was unaware of. I'm trying to get some friends of mine interested in thrifting and I'm sending them your videos. Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us! I am your age exactly but unfortunately about 20 years ago I was injured followed by some an autoimmune illness. You really brighten my day and yes I enjoy your videos with my cup of tea! Next chance I get I'm going down to the Goodwill and going to hunt for fun... Best wishes to you and Rodger
I just wanted to let you know you can still use the regional boxes for priority mail - it just goes by weight like a regular non flat rate priority box. I would also suggest cutting the extra boxes and storing them flat on a shelf.
I love shopping with you. I laugh when you pass by something I would've picked up. I lived on long island in new hyde park from 1978 to 1993. I picked up and moved to Phoenix az. I moved 6 kids...no husband...a dog...and knew absolutely no one...no family. I moved because the taxes and cost of living was off the chart even back then. I was a...pioneer. i always wanted to know, what made you choose Pennsylvania?
Hi Karen! I finally got set up so I can comment on your videos. I was previously communicating through emails. I am sooo happy for you and Roger and have greatly enjoyed all of your videos! You were my inspiration to start reselling. It is just a hobby for me, but your guidance and tips have been so helpful! God bless you both!
This was such a fun video! We don't have any flea markets like that around here. I just ate but seeing all that food was so tempting! I am always impressed and inspired by your organizational skills, hoping it rubs off on me!
His life’s work has been 2 fold: a caninet maker ( custom cabinetry) and an ebay reseller for over 22 years 😊. He has retired from cabinet maker but still delivers cabinets for the company
@@lavenderclothesline Roger's skill sets as a cabinet maker should come in very handy around your home... There's nothing quite like a man who is familiar with power tools and can build stuff!
Don’t get rid of the sink My grandmother had one in her basement we all took baths in When we were small But if you do get rid of it, maybe you can use it in your yard do some planting in it or use it to store storage in it. I also have to say I enjoy watching your flea market and yard sale videos. They are the best and I love when you buy jewelry from that one thrift store where it’s always 50% off I just have to say I love your TH-cam videos since I’m always short on cash I just imagine myself shopping in your shoes, strolling through the flea markets and yard sales and goodwill hunting. Congratulations also on your engagement to Roger you two make a beautiful couple You both balance each other out
You sure work hard, Karen! The basement looks great, and Roger will be impressed. Don't get rid of the laundry sink, because this is the sink that is used for dumping dirty water or for washing paint brushes, etc. I loved having those sinks when I had homes. Now that I live in a condo, I miss them a lot.
The market reminds me of the Reading Terminal Market on a smaller scale.. yum! I would keep the older machines... New ones are garbage, especially front loaders
Did anyone else want Karen to pick up the cast iron French bulldog at 25:49? Go back! Go back! Lol I wish we had flea markets like that in the PNW - and that pita egg sandwhich-Oh my!!
Hi Karen. Tuesday I was at Shillington goodwill. And there he was. I got to meet Roger. It was the highlight of my day. Sorry I didn't see you but I did meet you briefly a few years ago at Williams Grove flea market!! Looking forward to yard sales. Spring time YEAH!!
OMGosh. That’s awesome you met Roger in the wild !!! He is so adorable, love, love, love, triple love when he smiles in that shy way ! Karen, I couldn’t be happier for you and Roger.
Regional A boxes can still be used. They are just charged like any other box. I actually ordered extra when I found out they were not going to keep the rate. The size is great.
Super excited for you guys! Glad you figured this out for basement storage as is. Also, you can still use all the regional rate boxes but they’ll just be regular priority rates.
@@lavenderclothesline oh, ok, that makes sense for ebay since some people won’t understand. On Poshmark, however, it doesn’t matter because it’s all the same rate.
Loved this video! Flea market was great and I loved seeing what you are doing in the basement for Roger's inventory. Sure looks doable! So very happy for you two. 💖
Tis miteras o pateras, would be your papou!! I love it when you bring your Greek side in your videos!! You are wonderful, I love going with you on this lovely change in your life! Take care!
If you put a piece of wood, or counter top on top of the mud sink, Roger could use it as a packing table. It would be more useful as a packing table, since the table to can be larger than the sink dimensions, than as a place to hold boxes. Also, are you getting the most use out of your garage space, that you can? That's an ideal area to add heat and air, and use as a shipping area, if you got a large shed to put "garage" items into.
Roger packs mostly clothing right at his desk while sitting down. To have him stand on the concrete floor for hours wouldn’t be comfortable. I have always preferred to park my car in the garage to protect it. 💜😁
I loved your comment “I am ready for a husband to move in, a reseller husband”! I’m so happy for you two!!❤

Love how organized. I dream to be like you and I’m very organized
Thanks so much 🥰 I hope you have lots of beautiful days ahead!
I think we are all enjoying seeing the progress on the storage space & remodel. Thank you for sharing with us.
Love seeing the combined reseller journey and how you’re going to store it al! I can’t wait for the next installment 👍🏻
I liked the George Washington plate. It would be great for July 4th decorating.
I collect teapots. It's even better if it's a complete set. With cups, sugar, and creamer.
Wish I was there, I would buy those huge glass jars on that table at the 11:23 time mark! Great flea market!! How lucky you are Karen, love it!
All the changes, so exciting! Are you guys ever going to reveal what Rogers “real” job is?😊
His life’s work has been 2 fold: a caninet maker ( custom cabinetry) and an ebay reseller for over 22 years 😊. He has retired from cabinet maker but still delivers cabinets for the company
@@lavenderclothesline
Roger's skill sets as a cabinet maker should come in very handy around your home...
Congratulations also on your engagement to Roger you two make a beautiful couple You both balance each other out
I'm so happy for you and Roger.
A shed is a good idea for holiday decor to free up basement space. It looks like you have it all figured out. I think Roger will have plenty if space.
That American Indian Head looked frekin awesome! I would've bought that in a minute.
Flower book ends are door stoppers from Avon.
You searching for an egg sandwich. You exploring. This is the best. ❤
Top notch video & wow you are one deeply generous and organized lady!!!!
Hi Karen, Love the rose bowl / vase set. Check it to see if it glows 🤞
The market reminds me of the Reading Terminal Market on a smaller scale.. yum! I would keep the older machines... New ones are garbage, especially front loaders
An auxiliary building (shed) in the yard will always cost less then digging a basement.
motivating video...much better than goodwill!!!
Did anyone else want Karen to pick up the cast iron French bulldog at 25:49? Go back! Go back! Lol I wish we had flea markets like that in the PNW - and that pita egg sandwhich-Oh my!!
Oh my gosh Karen it's Lent You're killing me with all this amazing food!
@@Lulu5771 He looks exactly the same as on camera! So happy they found each other!!
Regional A boxes can still be used. They are just charged like any other box. I actually ordered extra when I found out they were not going to keep the rate. The size is great.
I have a three pig mirror just like the one you saw at the flea market. I love mine.
Super excited for you guys! Glad you figured this out for basement storage as is. Also, you can still use all the regional rate boxes but they’ll just be regular priority rates.
I don’t want my buyers to question why they didn’t get the flat rate
@@lavenderclothesline oh, ok, that makes sense for ebay since some people won’t understand. On Poshmark, however, it doesn’t matter because it’s all the same rate.
I must say, love watching your videos but love a good “goodwill video” with a little shipping and a little what sold. I am a picky picker watcher! 😂
Take care!
Karen, I think adding a shed will be a great idea for Christmas and Personal items. You are making great progress. So exciting!
That skid row shirt was money
I do hope that you continued in the Root's flea market and that you videoed it for a later date. Thank you
The laithe pieces can be pen and pencil holders on your desk 😊
