Chris Fletcher, Program Manager for the Newberry Center for Renaissance Studies, discusses the book and recites its spells and recipes.
So he woke up and was like "im gonna go to the library and look at a magic spell book and make a youtube video if it."
This is just superb, I've been looking for "a real magic spell that works" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Lonilley Magicify Simplification - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.

I’ve been reading this to the extent my rudimentary grasp of Latin I can. I gotta tell ya, it’s been blowing my mind. I’m, well, a practitioner if you will. My family is English & welsh and I follow the old Celtic path. I so appreciate even the brief explanation of how the old ways overlaps w Christianity. And again thank you - it’s repleat w Hebrew texts, symbols, especially the word “Tetragrammaton” and the Seal of Solomon. I didn’t know why the Hebrew was used.
I’ve been very confused but extraordinarily fascinated by it. I have read the translations too. It’s just amazing that this survived at all.
I wish I could talk to someone about this in more detail. I’d love to se an expansion of this video, or a lecture...just a suggestion lol.

It's called the book of magical charms but idk if you can check it out since I've never been to Chicago but I am very interested in occult stuff and just the thought of summoning a demon I always say all knowledge is good knowledge

There is nothing Christian in the symbology that you have shown in that book. It is all pagan. However, much of it has been used in the Roman Catholic Church (who were and are pagan) and, sadly, the practice has been adopted by most professed Christian churches since the protestant reformation. The cross is and always was a phallic symbol, as are some of the other symbols on those pages that you show. There is no Kabbalah, magic (magik) spiritism or mysticism in true Christian religion. That is a complete fallacy.

A vision is not a mystical experience. It is mearly a spiritual (mental) experience. God connecting His mind to a human mind is a physical connection, not a mystical one. Mysticism is witchcraft, an illusion of the devil.
jesus using a physical remedy to practice a spiritual miracle seems pretty mystical to me (using mud to restore sight), & in othe christian mythology, jesus also fashioned a bird out of clay & brought it to life.
also, the casting out of spirits/ raising the dead are pretty mystical experiences as well.

Sorcery in the context of Christianity (pharmakeia in the original Greek) refers to Goetia or the trafficking with devils. Something that isn't practiced by most magicians as most magicians are Theurgists. We invoke the name of Jesus to exorcise devils, heal the sick, etc,... in a lot of the Renaissance grimoires. I see no problem with it personally.
