Yes, the ankh symbol was the key of life! It was believed that the holder of this symbol had the power to give as well as take life. Pharaohs were often seen holding this. It's really feels amazing studying all these ancient Signs and symblos and finding out the stories and real mysteries behind them!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Both spirals and triskelions were used heavily on Celtic warrior shields and on bodies as tattoos. I'm a Celt nerd, but never knew the meanings behind the symbols you see on depictions of Celtic warriors, mostly in Britannia in the days of Julius Caesar, but now it makes a lot of sense, especially the spiral. The Celts believed in reincarnation, and spirals on their war gear/bodies indicates a religious aspect, as protection and a hope of being reincarnated after being killed in battle. This fact is probably why they were so fierce and wild-like in battle (even the Roman legions feared them, at first anyway) because they believed they would be reincarnated so there should be no fear of death. Great video!🙂👍

Actually, she was originally worshipped in Carthage. The Romans adopted her because she was perceived to be worthy of their adoration, perhaps by her apparent direct concern with matters which were seen as peripheral to other deities or didn't have a deity directly associated with them. They also adopted Cernunnos and Epona from Gaul and adopted the Goddess Isis from Egypt in much the same fashion.
In Roman tradition, she was the goddess of the crossroads, travel, trade, and all manner of magic, and was often invoked during childbirth.

Hi! Super glad you're making this! While i personally do not practice wicca (rather eclectic paganism), i do respect it.
But, i do have a bit of a problem with you reffering to these as specifically wiccan symbols and traditions, since they come from older paganism:). Just a recommendation!

    • @HighinMyOwnWords
      @HighinMyOwnWords 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Very well put. And although I cannot claim that is 100% true. I would say it likely is. But unlike other beliefs or religions. At least wicca helped grow witchcraft by incorporating it, rather than taking it from the witches and claiming it as their own out of fear and the pursuit of power over the land. I won't mention the religion. Because it's quite evident what one I'm referring to. Which is another reason why you're not that mad over it and kindly corrected it. I respect your comment so much because too many times I see an angry comment over literally nothing. Me being Wiccan, but also practicing using many other cultures. Many of my beliefs contradict eachother. It doesn't bother me, but it certainly would bother alot of other people. I grew up too diverse to sacrifice my true imagination for one belief system. And swallowed my pride for many years. As an adult, I realized I was right. I am judged wrongly on a constant basis even as an adult. To our true knowledge, we have no idea where any symbols came from first, specifically, but as we know how witchcraft has been treated by certain commumities for so many years. I would bet you're very right.

The Pentagram was the first Christian symbol. The pentagram was associated with the five wounds of Christ, and because it could be drawn in one continuous movement of the pen, the Alpha and the Omega as one. Ancient Churches in Bethlehem have been unearthed with the Pentagram as the first known users

Thank you for sharing this. My daughter was researching this as well and she said that the priests in the ancient church -- the first 300 years before Catholicism took over it, used this symbol in rituals for protection, exorcisms and banishing evil spirits. It's so sad that the first traditions were pretty much lost and forgotten about after it was no longer illegal to be a Christian.

shapes look different from many angles, i see 5 sides, its a pentagram, also has pentagon in the middle with elongated triangles on each vertex of pentagon, also circle fits around any equilateral shape, so are all shapes "acle's" or "agram's" or "agon's" i think geometry is everything, a star a diamond, a moon or a flower, that 5 star imprinted in many things, so it is or was maybe a pentacle before or for someone new, now it a starfish ashore waving :D

It's quite sad to see when fear has taken the reigns, especially when it comes to studying these kinds of things and getting involved in either wicca, witchcraft or a new religious practice. I know you didn't ask for a response but I felt as though I should mention it'll feel a bit full on when you first step into studies, there's so much to look at and learn and gain knowledge about, but my best advice is to get a notebook (some call it a journal, others a Grimoire) and write out the basics like candle types, symbols, moon phases (you know, whatever the basics may be for what ever you're engaging in) and just treat it a little bit like a school class. You'll definitely get the hang of it eventually, and gradually you'll find what path of knowledge best suits you as time goes on. I hope this helped ease some negativity you've been inundated with and I wish you well on your new journey! Blessed be💛

    Pentacle symbolism
Though many symbols could be mentioned in a list of significance for me, the Pentacle is the symbol held in my highest regard. It represents the manifesting and creative power we all hold. For me it is strongly linked to the tarot, specifically the Magician card, sometimes referred to as the Alchemist.
The four elements of creation are ever present. Standing amid these is me (each of us has birthright ownership of that statement).
In the Pentacle, the topmost point represents Spirit or consciousness ... My conscious. The significance of this positioning is that it resides above all other elements. It is a vantage point of higher perspective as well as representing an authoritative command. It translates to perfect sovereignty as well as to perfect responsibility.
On the Tarot card mentioned, typically is found ∞, symbol of infinity, above the magician's head, representing the infinite nature of our spirit and consciousness and the nature of our ability of thought. There is absolutely nothing which cannot be conceptualized.
The left upper point of the pentacle acknowledges this conception. It represents the element of Air. It encompasses thought and mental process. It reminds me how focus and nurturing these thoughts SELECTIVELY I decide both the direction of my life and what it includes and that which it does not. These are inspired by my interaction with others and real-world experiences and at times by intuitive or divine suggestion. I emphasized the word selectively for purpose of differentiating between organized though conscious attention and the otherwise random thoughts that fill the mind, aware of them or not.
The right upper point highlights the emotions that rise triggered by the thoughts or ideas conceived by or solicited unto me. It represents the element of Water.
These triggers (thoughts and ideas) are either of a positive attractant nature or they are deterrent, directing me either towards or away from various aspects and possibilities. These triggers are and to the degree of which, positive or negative largely if not entirely by the defining thoughts about a situation, event, observed action or another thought and definition.
I am reminded that engagement in which of these thoughts builds energy that equates to the overall positive or negative outlook I hold on life and all of existence. It determines optimism or pessimism, futility or promise.
To what depth of evaluating these (and which) emotions that I am willing to explore is the only limit of my understanding of the idea that triggered and the why of to-what-degree I am triggered. It is also the depth of which I am willing to observe myself lending to the understanding of and knowing myself. It is where and by which I assess the philosophy I hold concerning all of existence and tailor it to my being.
It is here through observing contrasts of emotions that I find my authenticity.
Here is where I, through compassion, realize what once fit may no longer fit. Unaccusingly, and thus unashamedly, I observe the growth of my being.
It is this philosophy that is my guide by which I govern my life and the decisions I make. It suggests the direction of where I employ the creative force I control.
The more I entertain the varying ideas, be they magnanimous or trivial, the more energy I well and amass for use of creation. This is my motivation. It is, in essence, the fuel that drives me.
The lower right point of the pentacle is Fire. It is ever present and so long as shall live this fire is within me. It's been called the spark of life.
This fire ignites the fuel I have amassed through experiencing my emotions and releases the energy for its purpose. The burning of a fuel causes an expansion in some way. We call it a force. I know that the ignition is beyond my control and that the only way to control the fire ... that will burn ... and what sort of fire it will be, is to control my emotion (Water), thus, controlling characteristic of the fuel and the energy it contains, and resultantly, the force (Fire). Controlling my emotion is only achieved by selectively dwelling and focusing on the thoughts ... a mental process (Air)
Deliberate creation and dissolution are the results of deliberately controlling the creation and employing of force. I understand that the deep well of energy contained within my being will, if not employed and directed, commingle with other energies inspired by other ideas ... distractions ... resulting in chaos.
Another aspect I am reminded of is the law of entropy which is ultimately the gradual decay of ordered creation, which in turn yields chaos as the result and that the only avoidance of this default result is my active involvement of the orderly creation.
A thought about chaos: It is chaos which holds every potential as nothing is certain and everything is possible.
At the lower and left position of the Pentacle is Earth. This is the tangible including the intangible tangible. Any form of creation is found here, including the other four points of the pentacle and the pentacle itself. Anything to which I can state, "I (don't) have ...", is in the realm of this element.
This is the realm of my reality. It is the experience I am creating, as opposed to subjected to.
Here is where I find the triggers which are, again, the thoughts and ideas (Air) that all give rise to the emotions (Water) and subsequent passions (Fire) that prompt me into my created reality (Earth).
This is an endless cycle that was before my birth and will continue infinitely after my death. It is an ever-expanding inward spiral I travel. As I grow and expand myself, I am moving closer to the center for new lessons, new knowledge and new understandings. With these in each new experience I gain greater wisdom in the complicities of life, the universe and more importantly, myself, only to find simplicity always was.
Seemingly paradoxically, as Spirit resides atop the Pentacle, I am both inside the Circle of Elements present in the creation and outside the Circle observing. None of it is in reality happening to me. I am the unaffected observer, taking notes and expanding my consciousness, experiencing life just as entwined as if watching a gripping movie or reading a thrilling romantic comedic drama, though in the paradox, the outcome is influenced by me.
As Spirit I am also eternal and also a part of the whole. As its said, I am the drop in the ocean as well as the entire ocean within he drop, eluding to the greater and collective consciousness. All that I observe and all that I direct to create will continue on affecting and influencing the lives countless of generations to come.
As a bit of humorous self-ism, for those who subscribe to the idea of living multiple consecutive and or parallel lives, what I do for me today will continue on and reward me in another life or be waiting for my adjustment or correction. In that I must consider how I would want the evolution of the planet to unfold. It will be my next experience.

The same story is applied to the hebrew alefbet in that the sun shone through the crystalline chief cornerstone on top of the great pyramid of giza or something to that effect. If you take a single pass through a taurus and view it from 22 angles you will find the origin of the hebrew letter forms. Regardless of the letter set if you consider the numbers in the story you would see the sun plus 6 equals seven like the seven classical planets. These stories of the genesis of one thing or another are often reminders or stories with embedded knowledge concerning the structure of this "reality", for lack of a better term.

The symbol for disordered intellect from Rudolf Koch's Book of Signs looks similar to your described interior symbol, however the Vs are not rounded. Your symbol might be derived from that one in some way. I couldn't find much else in my books. There were not many symbols containing rounded triangles/Vs, it may have been a stylistic choice for the pendent or it may correspond with traditions which I am unfamiliar with. Admittedly I have little knowledge of Wiccan symbols. If your grandmother was a witch perhaps someone else in the comment section might be able to shed a bit more light on the symbolism behind the pendant.

@@carpentryfirst3048 .. many people today are of the understanding that to be Pagan must mean that they believe in "many Gods". It turns out that a Pagan is someone who lives in the country .. (outside the city limits) .. as compared to those who lived within the relative safety and commerce of the King's castle. Those who lived close to the King's economy were more "educated" .. a higher chance that they would be able to read and write or sign their name. Those who lived close to nature were also the ones who studied nature for it's secrets in things like natural medicine. The country dweller (pagan) would consider the elements of nature to be powerful forces (god-like almighty) .. such as a hurricane, tornado, wind, water, fire, etc. and this is where some of the legends of mythical gods like Poseidon come from. A book written by man would use the alphabet to spell out the word TREE .. and then might define it as OAK, PALM, PINE, etc. While the "Book of Nature" actually shows you a tree .. 🌳🌴🌲 It is interesting to note that the King's city is dependent upon those living in the country to provide the 'living food' which the King and his city friends will eat. I am not saying that all those living in the city or suburbs are unable to grow food .. they certainly can .. but the very nature of the city is such that there is not enough room for gardens large enough to feed everyone living in those skyscrapers. The city person has to negotiate with the country dweller (pagan) for the food he needs to eat. The process or development of the "educated" was to demonize the "uneducated" by referring to them as illiterate Pagans. Islam is witchcraft, minute 3:55 is the symbol you find all over a mosque including in Mecca, to protect their lies being debunked.
I was 11 when I wanted to end my life. I took all medicines in the cabinet and laid on the bed expecting that when I wake up I'd be no longer in this world. But, dang.. I am here in this world and still think of end it all sometimes (almost 37 years, February 1st 1984).
That was the first time my Father sent me to a private boarding school.
I got mentally abused with words by my stepmother since I was 8 years old, my Father didn't know. I am his first son.
I lost my Mother when I was 2 years 8 months old, she was 27 years delivering birth of my younger sister and after the birth they both passed away.
She was born July 29th 1959 and it was 6 November 1986.
Then after the boarding school I started my life journey around the world all alone.
Still jealous of people who has Mother but sometimes I see myself I am proud of me and I see them with Mother are softies, as best things never comes easy.
I was born Indonesian but fluent in English, Dutch, Arabic, etc.
Yes, lots of Aquarius, Capricorn and Scorpio in my birth chart (I was indeed sexually abused while I was in the private boarding school by room mates and later when I became a young priest/preacher to be an "imam" I was again sexually abused by senior imam who has his own private boarding school in India, while I was about to be coupled to marry in Abu Dhabi UAE, I was 17 years old that time and it's normal age to get married in the culture.
And I refused the marriage proposal.
I didn't tell them the reason, in fact this is my first time sharing to strangers. My Father never know the reason why I am no longer religious and not into any religion. Boring duality of religions, good and bad are the same, black and white are the same. Really when we die nothing matters, I don't matter, you don't matter. We don't matter.
After all religion is never been a spiritual, as religion is region rely on legion, because of legislation, legion exist, and their holy books only know and talk about their own region, as an example Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) only talk about Middle East and Europe, but they know nothing about the world as complete world, they don't even know anything about Oud/Agarwood they're using as it's not their native.
Even Muhammad never lived around the world alone on his own since early as child but strangely he was a merchant but couldn't read nor write (remember Iqra')?
He wasn't a complete multiracial and multilingual like me. Think that he's just an assistant of the jew/christian Khadija and family the creator of new fraud named Islam.
There are countless errors I found, too long to write down here.
      To be continued..

Mahameru or Great Meru is just one of evidence of Hindu, wasn't religion as today but an Ancient region from Indonesia all the way to Europe. As India the significant remaining.
I am not surprised in Bali 2012 I had a bizarre experience meeting one of my Ancestors from another realm, out of common people logic spiritual understanding. As surrounding of Bali's 4 mountains, is Gate 7 of Earth's Chakra 7th which is Mount Kailash Tibet.
Called Hindia, Indus, Indo (also Indo Europe and Indo Persia), Indonesia means Indo Nesos, Indo Islands, exactly on center of Equator line. Richest nature on entire world.
Most humid yet stable weather all year around, alway sunrise at 6 AM to sunset 6 PM.
      Sumatra means Sumer/Summer/Sun/Gold + Tera/Terre/Earth/Land = Mother of Sumeria.
The highest humidity and with so many volcanoes than anywhere in the world made the things decaying easily, worldwide still don't know about our oldest ancient civilization before the massive eruption of Toba 74000 years ago resulted today world's larget crater lake, volcanic Toba lake with width around 100 kilometers. As our Ancestors were even much more advanced than us today and flee towards today Europe, Middle East, America escaped the eruption larger than Yellowstone USA.
      #Indonesia #Atlantis
      Minangkabau, Batak, Sumatra, Indonesia
      Minangkabau Sumatra = Minoan Europe
      Batak Sumatra = Batak Bulgaria
Egypt isn't oldest civilization. But Indonesia.
Bit by bit the veils are uplifted, limited knowledge of present world is incomplete and inaccurate. Including how they west and middle east has been drawing Indonesia too small on world map especially since Mercator 1569 while should be as great as Russia.
Majority of people don't even know that our Ancestors technology was much more advanced than us now.
They don't know anything about human civilization before 74,000 years ago the massive eruption of supervolcano Toba on Sumatra shaped today world's largest crater lake on earth. Toba is bigger than Yellowstone USA.
Again, present education worldwide has very limited knowledge, based on their limited nature.
Our Ancestors knew about the eruption before it happened and migrated towards West; Middle East, Europe and America. The fact is Indonesia center of the world, richest nature in whole world on center of earth's Equator line, is the root not the other way round.
Biblical/Alquran/Koran stories including about Adam and Eve are just metaphorical fairytales in fact all those religious stuff are just fairytales.
Religion = Region rely on legion and legislation.
      Sumatra (Sumatera) = Sumer/Summer/Suma/Sun/Gold + Tera/Terra/Land = Mother of Sumeria

Duduk in Indonesian/Malaysian means to sit, to stay. #Indonesia #Armenia
The same Instrument here in Indonesia.
      Greetings from Wonderful Indonesia :)

The the one eye on the us dollar bills means taking control your subconsciousness to be enslaved to follow their fraudulent systems, the false world banking.
Not the eye is evil but the people behind the eye, the eye is just the tool to control human wirelessly just the same with TV (tele vision) = transfering vision from distance.

WICCA is a modern religion based loosely on older traditions from around the globe.. I dislike when ignorant people unknowingly tell lies just because they don't want to put in the time to research or just continue the lies told to them because they know no better. I dislike all organized religions because they are responsible for more deaths than most plagues. Just so they can have power over the easily persuaded masses. I have nothing against prayer or magic for it is one in the same. Directing your thoughts and energy to the universe for hopefully a positive outcome to what ever situation you are using the prayer or magic to accomplish.

I've been interested in the past but there's too much to get into lol. I went the mystic route where I can explore things on my own through authentic instruction and figured out they're all talking about the same thing basically but through time got a bunch of other stuff added. Anyways, I ended up in the Drukama tradition, check it out if you might enjoy a science type of thing you can practice and draw your own parallels to whatever religion you subscribe to. Be well all!

Around the 4th century BCE the Greek started to worship Pan, a satyr (lustful, drunken woodland god) who represents fields, pastures, and fertility. Pan was often depicted with an erect penis and an ancient comic told a tale of Pan teaching shepherds how to masturbate. This famous statue is in Naples and shows him having sex with a she-goat, which didn't surprise anybody at the time.

Your symbols are much more ancient than anything dreamed up or reinvented in the early 20th century. The Pentagram/Pentagon/Pentacle meant the 5 Ahaus of the Raven, the Flood God who comes to Capricorn/Pan (end of this year by the way). The reason it has point-up and point-down meanings is because it remembers the pole shifts (or Reversal) of this period when Earth goes head-over-heels. The Triskele/Triskelion also marks the period of the pole shifts and the three Suns (Blue Star, Red Star & their child the Sun). Some ancients remembered two shifts ... some three ... some four. The Fairy Star/Heptagram/Heptagon meant the 7 Sars of the Lioness, the Fire Goddess who flits between Aries and Virgo and up and over the Pillar of the Sun until she gives us the Eye (also expected this year). The Goddess (Aquarius the Head & Scutum the Womb) and her Spiral indicate that her tumble with Orion is Earth's Day of Creation -- especially this year when both the Raven (or Dragon of Gobekli Tepe or Bull of Heaven) is here with the Lioness (or Serpent). The 8-pointed star was Saturn/Anu. He is supposed to light up very soon in the presence of the Blue Star/Raven. The 6-pointed star in Hecate's Wheel (the Unicersal Hexagram/Star of Solomon) was a Nova in the direction of the South and Monoceros six times a Precession (some thought it Sirius, some thought it Betelgeuse, some thought it Omega Orionis), but it is due to light us up in the time of the Reversal around the New Ahau (see the Dresden Codex regarding next winter solstice). It is one of the symbols of how Giza Plateau is arranged and has to do with why a Lion Sphinx was given a Woman's Head (switching its orientation from Regulus to the next place Heart of Heaven would show up (Aquarius, Feb 28 2010). It also remembered this time of the Raven rising and the Lioness falling vertically across the Sun (very soon). As to your Cross/Swastika -- it is this time of the Great Cross (Ecliptic perpendicular to Poles) going crazy, the rise of the Southern Cross over Northern skies, God and Goddess taking turns being on top, etc. Triquetra was three seasons of Virgo, just as the triple nesting Triangle was three seasons of Aries (both signifying our three years of absolutely screwed (I mean Armageddon or Apocalypse which were expected to begin by this spring). The Ankh represented this time when Raven (color him blue) will rise over the Tav of Aquarius (color her red). Magic is about to become very powerful as the solar system again gets charged up passing through the golden band (interstellar cloud) and the planets and Sun pass through the Heliosphere's Center. I don't know if the galactic accretion disk is also involved, but the Lioness will rake us with Lucifer stones, which were used by the ancients. By the way, don't be confused just because modern religion changed the blue to the Goddess and the red to the God. Neither of them cares what names you know! Nor do they care that the different religions knew them by different symbols and sexes and screwed up the narrative numerous times! Just know that we are in their season and we should revere those about to renew the Earth in a process that may or may not seemingly take much account of you.

its a pentagon formed by a pentagram inscribed in a circle by dividing a circle into 5 equal parts, the circle was there before the pentagram was formed, so the circle is always there, just not highlighted by some artists, same applies to triangles squares hexagons heptagons octagons nonagons etc, which people mistake for a "pentacle" or "pentagram"
its all about knowing your numbers, because why isnt a hexagon or a octagon called a hexacle or a octacle, pentagram could be called a pentangle like a triangle, quadangle lol hexangle, everyone comming from different angles calling it whatever lol ⭐

The Pentagram was an early Christian symbol as well. It represented the 5 wounds of the Christ on the Cross and it could dispel evil.
Spirals were seen in caves going back tens of thousands of years. Often the spirals and mazes represent life in all its aspects.
The 8-spoke wheel is important in many Mystical religions. It can be seen in the 8th day of creation when everything goes from evolution to devolution. It is the wheel of life, etc.
The Unicursal Hexagram was devised by Aleister Crowley when he was confronted with tracing a hexagram in Ceremonial Magick to protect the magickal circle. The problem was the Hexagram consisted of 2 triangles, one pointing up and the other pointing down. One of the meanings of the Hexagram is that of the union of the Universal Masculine and Feminine.
Check out the Appendix of "The Gospel Truth: The Heresy of History" for a listing of the Pagan symbols that early Christians used.

Unless Christianity was around during the time of Pythagoras (circa 500 BC,) it predates Christianity. It was found in a few ancient cultures.

In my mind the pentacle point should be down to represent how life and spirit are comprised of the elements. Seems like a pagan symbol flipped upsidedown to adapt to the christian view point.

One small correction, nothing big. Hecate doesn't really rule the underworld. The king of the underworld is Hades, whom everyone knows. Hecate is like a disciple or member of the kingdom of the underworld.
