I bought the 2022 Eclipse Cross SE Sport, same price. .Interior is the same, with the exception of suede with leather trim for the seats. I was surprised no lumbar support, but it molds right to your back,so it is very comfortable. I like the displays. They are convenient, easy to read and within reach. It has a turbocharge and and the ride is exceptionally smooth. I also have a full length sunroof. It handles well and holds the road on sharp turns. It's so smooth that on the highway if you don't pay attention, you can be up over 90 in no time. I love driving this vehicle. I also like that it has has had no recalls. I traded my G4 for this. What I gave up in mileage, I feel I gained in safety. After 3 years,I had less than 7,000 miles on it because I do live up north. Though the G4 did well in the snow, it was small and I didn't like highway driving in the winter with it. I retired and traded it in this year. I have already put almost 2,000 miles on it in 3 months. My granddaughter & I go to concerts, the last 2 out of state. There is barely any difference in body style, wheels and interior. I have no fear this winter. It's rated 5/5 for safety. The fog lights are right under the headlights,so there are fog lights if needed. I have auto highlights which react faster than I could. I used to drive Toyotas, but the quality has gone downhill over the years. I used to street race,so I always drove a sporty vehicle. The handling is very responsive when I need it to respond. The 360 warning systems are great. Service is always amazing. I haven't had to have this serviced, but with the G4 I never had problems.
This has a distinctive look while the other SUV brands seem to blend into each other. I bought the diamond red which is the prettiest red out there. For the money, it's a great buy. Also, something I like is the cover that pulls over the cargo area. When shopping at different stores, what you have in the cargo area is not visible.

The engine in the Eclipse Cross it’s a 1.5 liter turbocharged (154 hp) with direct injection. It’s not a naturally aspirated engine. And it’s a very reliable engine, with 6 years on the market and zero (0) recalls about the powertrain.

Agreed, I got to this point of the video before I decided not to watch the rest. This guy appears to be winging it and should have been better prepared. Kinda obvious as he read the S-AWD sticker on the back not long after saying it's a two wheel drive. Pathetic and lazy. I bought the 2021 version Eclipse Cross here in Australia (not available in the US that year), in the middle of a covid lockdown. It was pretty much the only car I could get in less than 6 months, Toyota didn't have any stock whatsoever and couldn't even let me test drive. The performance issue isn't the engine but the CVT. It's not meant to be a sports car, very practical for a daily driver especially with the current costs of fuel. Also a 10 year/ 150K KMs warranty and capped price service. The engine has a timing chain and not a belt. I paid extra for the S-AWD (and here it was several thousand dollars extra), but well worth the extra cost... do not buy the 2WD if you still can.

This updated Eclipse Cross looks as upscale as the entry-level Lexus and Infiniti CUVs, but for significantly less. I love that gorgeous bronze color. Very distinctive. Factor in Mitsubishi's good reliability track record and an excellent warranty. Mitsubishi does need to do better with its infotainment units. They do look and feel dated, but frankly, so do the infotainment units in a lot of more expensive vehicles.

Mitsubishi is trying, but vehicles offered by Mitsubishi definitely show the company’s struggles. I think Mitsubishi will bring back a nice 4 door car and more engine options for current models once they get back on their feet. Hopefully Nissan will let them develop it on their own. I drive a 2020 outlander sport and it’s a decent daily driver, even turns a few heads but the dated interior is where it falls short.

Love the review as always Joe! I just bought a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander sport Yes it's outdated but the cost of ownership and maintenance is very low and all the bugs are worked out since it is a rather outdated design with a rock solid engine. I bought the SEL trim because it has all the features that I need especially Android Auto! So far after 6,000 mi it has been very very reliable and cost efficient! Yes it has analog gauges but at least I know that they will continue to work and function properly for a very long time! Just watched the video on the e cross 2023. I have a,2018 e cross and trading it for a new e cross tomorrow. Luv everything about it. The only problem i have had with the 18 se se it was new is the turbo died last week , but it took 70000 mile for it to have a problem, and it wes a defect, a fin broke off the turbo and cut the oil seal. Im 61 yrs old and tbis is the first import i have ever owned, and as i said im trading for a new one tomorrow. I have spent the last 40 yrs turning wrenches for a living on everything from weedeaters to cranes and locomotives. My wife says this new cross is her forever car, and i agree. I can say after owning this 18 cross ,there will always be a mitsubishi in my drive way from now on. The only problem with the video is ron sounds like he is more interested in finding the down side of the suv than the positives of the suv . The only other problem is i live in georgia and there is no dealer near me so i have to go out of state to buy my new one, i tried to buy from your dealership, but your buddy in jacksonville kick the deal you offered out the door and are delivering my new,one to my home in ga in the morning. Thanks for the review. I like the contrast of the black wheel-well surrounds. Monochrome body & wheel-well surround would be bland looking. The full color match of the bumper nacelles (top to bottom) necessitated the matching color rocker-panels. I think MItsubishi made the right color contrast choices, though the choice does look rather expensive for an economy class SUV. I wish they'd tweak/reduce the coefficient of drag without changing the overall look, to improve fuel economy. Mitsubishi's JDM styling of exterior & interior features are always a treat to see at this market level. They dare to be different, thank goodness.
