"Traveling Man"/"Beautiful Loser" from Live Bullet is an absolute must. It's technically two songs, but for decades they have almost always been played as a single song both on the radio and in concert, and that's how it should be reacted to as well. That should definitely be your next one.
Great song! You should listen to: Come to Papa, Beautiful Loser, Main Street, Get out of Denver, Ramblin Gamblin Man, Heavy Music. Thanks guys keep rockin

It REALLY is. I think I like Bobs version at least as well if not better than Tina Turners original. And she does an excellent job with his “Fire Down Below”
I like the idea of back to back react 1)The original by Ike and Tina Turner 2) Bob's excellent cover Both so good how can you do one without the other?
Rambling Gambling Man should be next - definitely! It's interesting that you talk about him developing over two years since Night Moves. RGM was his first hit single, and it was 10 full years before Hollywood Nights. Bob was a touring veteran by the time Hollywood Nights came out - a real road warrior. Interesting fact: Glen Frey of the Eagles was a good friend of Bob's and he appeared on RGM in '68. Personal favorites that I'd love to see you guys check out: Main Street, Traveling Man/Beautiful Loser (live version from Live Bullet - same album as Turn the Page). Against the Wind is another awesome song. Seger is a great American storyteller - and very underrated by some. Glad you guys are enjoying!
Ramblin Gamblin Man, Her Strut, Katmandu are all serious bangers that put your spirits up high. If you can't get into those songs, you might need to check your pulse
I don't know if you want it next, but definitely put it on the list: "Traveling Man/Beautiful Loser" from the Live Bullet album. An impeccable live track.
"S-Tier Only" baybee!!! Love love love your shirt Andy! 👕. It's almost like I'm looking into a mirror since I too possess one of those rarest of T's, identical to yours. (One for which I send my grateful thanks, once again to both A&A) 👈🏼😁🤘🏼
"Main Street" would be a good choice for your next Bob Seger song. It's a different kind of sound than what you have heard so far, though in terms of feel I would liken it to "Night Moves", in that it is very nostalgic. It has some really interesting guitar work, and I will leave you with this one additional tease -- it is a song that nearly every exotic dancer featured in her act during the late '70s. Listen to it to find out why!
I think I have watched your Night Moves reaction a bunch of times. One of you guys best. Roll me Away is my favorite Seger song. John Cougar Melencamp has similar bangers in a similar style.
SpaceDogBones Those are the two main subjects when writing a classic Rock " n Roll song. I could make my fortune as I've had my share of both( especially the latter) !
K-K-K-K-K-K Katmandu! Live Bullet - you can feel the energy of the Silver Bullet Band. Always crank this one up when rambling down the road to get away from it all...
I've always loved You'll Accompany Me. Such a chill beautiful love song. Ramblin Gamblin Man would be a great next one too, that was his earliest banger.
His voice is a separate instrument! Well put! There really is such a growth in the two of you, I'm very proud of you both! It thrills me to see you enjoy these songs for the first time and how much you appreciate the musicality!
Can never go wrong with Bob Seger. His voice is so good. Gotta listen to Mainstreet for a different take on that voice. Great job, as usual, A&A!!! Thanks!
Excellent choice! Next should be "Fire Lake", which features backing vocals by three members of The Eagles. EDIT: I went to California in 2007 for a family reunion. Those beaches and those roads are exactly as Bob Seger describes in this song. Highway 1, the Pacific Coast Highway, literally follows the curves of the coastline.
How can a song miss with opening lyrics like this: Who's goin' to ride that chrome 3-wheeler? Who's goin' to make that first mistake Who wants to wear those gypsy leathers All the way to Fire Lake.
I've been a big fan of Bob's work since I was kid in the late 70's, a friend took me to finally see him live for my 52 birthday 8 yrs ago, it was everything I could have wished for and more! He is a consummate performer!
Please note that the snare drum figure mimics the sound of expansion joints when driving on a highway. Who thinks of this stuff? That’s why they play and we listen.
First Rock concert for me. 1972. His voice was imprinted in my brain that night. Like a saxophone through fine whiskey. Kudos for the choice, and the retro-reference by experience! Peace.
Great choice gentleman! Bob Seger is one the very best out there for voice and songwriting. Like you said I would do "Ramblin Gamblin man" (Glenn Frey vocals) and then switch to one of best, "Roll me away"
Live Bullet. Enuf said. Any music fan will tell you it's the best live album of all time. Not to mention it's recorded in my home town...and his...Detroit
Fun fact: when he wrote this he was renting a place in Hollywood Hills and there was a magazine in the coffee table with Cheryl Tiegs on he cover. She was quintessential Cali girl so the ‘girl’ in the song is inspired by her! (So yes Andy, it was a blonde that inspired him... and he mentions her blue eyes, which can go with other hair colors but usually blondes)
Bruce Springsteen called Seger and wanted to know how to write a hit song. Obviously Bob gave The Boss some great tips. You can hear Seger in Bruce's music.
This is amazing...just 2 hours ago I was watching some other reactions to Bob Seger and the thought went through my head that I couldn't wait for A&A to do another review of his music. This is great timing and so well described that you make those of us with no musical talent appreciate him even more.

I too possess one of those rarest of T's, identical to yours. (One for which I send my grateful thanks, once again to both A&A) 👈🏼😁🤘🏼
I want one. How? Where?
Still the Same, Feel Like a Number, Against the Wind, Ramblin Man, Mainstreet... and So Many More Great Segar Songs ))) ))) )))
'Feel Like a Number': great choice. One of my all time favorites.
5th row center LA Forum So Fucking rad.
No one tells a story better then Bob Seger, greatest, singer, songwriter, & Live performer of all time
Please, please please ... react to Bob Seger, Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser from the Live Bullet album. You'll love it!
Yeah , the best by far .
Only one choice for his 'earlier rocker' - Ramblin' Gamblin' Man.
Agreed.
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band Travellin' Man & Beautiful Loser LIVE. One of his best ever!!!
I think I have watched your Night Moves reaction a bunch of times. One of you guys best. Roll me Away is my favorite Seger song.
John Cougar Melencamp has similar bangers in a similar style.
Bob Seger is like a Rock-n-Roll preacher to me, his voice has always given me goose bumps.
Seger always makes me think of old girlfriends and bad decisions.
SpaceDogBones
Those are the two main subjects when writing a classic Rock " n Roll song. I could make my fortune as I've had my share of both( especially the latter) !
Beautiful Loser makes me think of old boyfriends. : )
Heee
Same
Funny how that works both ways with Seger's songs. 😆 Good times. Good times.
Don't forget "Come to Poppa" Talk about some soulful funky grit!
I definitely recommend you do Her Strut. I can’t see you NOT loving it, with its unique sounds!
Thanks!
If you haven't done it yet, "Roll Me Away" should be your next Seger song.
Yep. The edge of a continent. I feel truly blessed (not to be cheesy) to live in this amazing state
How can a song miss with opening lyrics like this: Who's goin' to ride that chrome 3-wheeler?
Who's goin' to make that first mistake
Who wants to wear those gypsy leathers
All the way to Fire Lake.
I've been a big fan of Bob's work since I was kid in the late 70's, a friend took me to finally see him live for my 52 birthday 8 yrs ago, it was everything I could have wished for and more! He is a consummate performer!
"Ramblin' Gamblin' Man' is an early rocker, and Glenn Frey (later of the Eagles) does backing vocals and acoustic guitar. Love it!
So many great Seger songs to choose from. My favorite is Roll Me Away.
Please note that the snare drum figure mimics the sound of expansion joints when driving on a highway. Who thinks of this stuff? That’s why they play and we listen.
@Steve Narrows - I have had that image in my head too, since around 1980
@@mikewoodrow5878 You weren’t wrong. I heard that in an interview more years ago than I’d like to admit.
First Rock concert for me. 1972.
His voice was imprinted in my brain that night. Like a saxophone through fine whiskey.
Kudos for the choice, and the retro-reference by experience!
Peace.
"Her Strut" "Fire Down Below" "We've Got Tonight" must plays...
Andy will be in tears by the end of We Got Tonight
@@heatherk1200 Throw a little "Shame On The Moon" in there top him off.
Great choice gentleman! Bob Seger is one the very best out there for voice and songwriting. Like you said I would do "Ramblin Gamblin man" (Glenn Frey vocals) and then switch to one of best, "Roll me away"
Check out "Get Out Of Denver", or "Nutbush City Limits". Both are great early Seger, bangers.
Great songs but I am afraid that and a are selling out and doing the commercial shit
Bob Segar - Katmandu - Old Time Rock And Roll
Next... hmmm maybe "Fire Lake", "Her Strut", or maybe "Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight"
Cheryl Tiegs was the first woman I ever kept a picture of from a magazine when I was a kid.
Sooooo much great Seger for A&A to explore!!
