Match 3 Game 2 I think you should have gone for it one turn earlier. Cast the Rogue, let that trigger resolve, and cast Oracle with Goose and Sea Gate. Yes, they had open mana, but they also had a clock
I was thinking the same thing, but then rewatched it. Opponent had open Mana and 3 cards in hand. The safer play was to do what Seth did, that way Seth doesn't tap out with Creeping Chill and possibly get countered. This way he has open Mana to activate Haunted Dead and get his Worldspine Wurms back into his library so he doesn't mill out.
I felt like we were 100% to win if we got back Haunted Dead and shuffled Worldspine Wurms back into our library. I think we were likely to win if we cast Creeping Chill too, but it didn't seem like it was worth taking any risk (something like it getting countered and then us milling out somehow).

Ah, this is my favorite type of Magic. Your deck is in your graveyard, you have few secrets left you could be hiding, the only thing left is watching your opponent squirm as they try and figure out what they need to do to stop the madness. Needs Red tho, I wish we had Faithless Looting :(
Came for an Oops All Berries thumbnail. I’m guessing nobody explained Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Pebbles (these are names of Magic decks and also cereals) to the editor. Captain Crunch unavailable for comment.
I know people nitpick your commentary but I appreciate more than a lot of other creators where the video is 50%, but they're like 80% quiet of the time
Seth, this deck pilots similarly to Crabvine in that you shouldn't feel skeptical about mulliganing a time or two, especially if you draw payoffs you want to mill.
Scary! In the past, combo decks were "all-in" strategies, meaning that if the combo failed..it was over. Now with cards such as Thoughtseize, Pellaka Predation, Hagra Mauling, and Cling to Dust, this build has a lot of staying power. It is easy enough to stop this deck from "going-off", but how do you negate all these control cards? Very powerful and scary.
Actually thinking about it it wouldn't have mattered because he could have brought haunted dead back on his upkeep so either play would won him the game.
All the cards that triggered off of gaining 3 life triggered on your turn in M21, my best guess is that the black/white lifegain sub-theme was balanced using that timing restriction.
Could you take it to modern with heartless summoning to speed it up? Or maybe Syr Konrad as the win con with Echo of Aeons to "belcher" them for as many creatures as you have?
At 17:55 when you are saying you punted specifically because silversmote only triggers on your endstep, isn’t that just wrong? Like hypothetically let’s say it could come back on their endstep. So you activate on their second main and then on their endstep your silversmotes come back, triggering your prized amalgams. But then the amalgams won’t come back until YOUR endstep so you wouldn’t even be able to attack with them. Seems like even if silversmote worked the way you thought it did, it’s a punt. Seems like you should always activate before your end step
You could theoretically improve the consistency by moving 1 combo piece to the board and adding four Fey of Wishes. Or is 11 redundancies a bridge too far? At any rate, having a 3rd card they have to surgical before you lose has to count for something, right?
Not a single bit impressed by the 5-0 with this deck. Think about it, it's a super consistent 4th turn combo. It's literally a one card combo that needs no setup, everything scapeshift wished to be!
The main changes is videos going up at noon EST rather than 11pm EST. While Much Abrew did move from Sunday to Friday, everything else is on the same day as before, just a bit earlier.
Is anyone surprised this is busted, most decks with 4 prized amalgam are ridiculous. Could use some tuning but I wouldn't be shocked to see this become meta.
"Gonna get in and hit us for a bunch" ::takes 1 from the goblin token:: great stuff as always lol
I hope he smokes 🤣 that’d be everything
I appreciate not having to skip through the teaser clip this time! Keep it up :)
This seems like an Anti-Seth deck. The more cards you draw the worse the deck gets.
Finally some more pioneer. I'm so exited to watch this!
Opponents: “wait. It’s all spells??”
Seth: “always has been”
No spoiler intro!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Seth with zero cards in library against spirits: "maybe we wait one more turn"
yeah I think he was going to discard the wurm so it shuffled back in. But I was also like What? at first lol.
Watching the ramp deck getting janked by the unfairest of combo was sweet karmic justice
Yes, officer, this deck right here
I felt the tension with that last top deck!! Hats off to the deck creator 🎩📴
35:35 why not just cast creeping chill?
If it gets countered then he won't have enough mana for haunted dead I think. Then he would lose to having no cards in library.
@@feildpaint Can't he just do that on his upkeep? It's better to have the chill countered.
@@notmynormalusername1 oh true, just a punt I guess
Obvious misplay.
Love how you played Caleb Scherer in the last match. I love his content.
Match 3 Game 2 I think you should have gone for it one turn earlier. Cast the Rogue, let that trigger resolve, and cast Oracle with Goose and Sea Gate. Yes, they had open mana, but they also had a clock
Seth, you had creeping chill in hand, the mana to cast it and an opponent at 3 in match 3. Were you worried about a counter or something?

When you're scared you spy will get spell pierced
YAY FOR PIONEER CONTENT!
In other news, it's a good thing Seth can always spell properly, even if his pronunciations don't always land. :P

Narcomeba is there specifically to do what you tried by going off on their turn. It's a way to avoid sorcery speed interaction on the Prized Amalgams.
I would also bring it in as an extra blocker against aggro matchups like the first opponent or the spirits

Seth, you have a strange definition of "speechless" haha :)
Watching with auto generated subtitles. Every time you say Turn it translates it as being "turd" 😂. "Pass the turd." "On the next turd."

The Jank is real! Had the deck 0-5 this would've still been an awesome video.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ I sense a theme between the decks I’ve seen recently from mtg goldfish

I'm already excited for the confounding conundrum battle against Vince probably better known as Pleasant Kenobi on the internet
35:37 watching you not cast that creeping chill in your hand for the win was pretty painful but you get it either way
If they countered he would have lost straight up cuz he had no cards in his library. He made the smarter play.
Actually thinking about it it wouldn't have mattered because he could have brought haunted dead back on his upkeep so either play would won him the game.
True. Obvious misplay.
@@arplee4823 Respectfully disagree. Always go for the win. You are playing combo after all. Combo or fizzle is usually the name of the game.
at 35:43 you coulve hard cast creeping chill instead of playing out the goose to win the game vs spirits
I think the reason Silversmote doesn't trigger on your opponents turn, is to make it less punishing to mill decks, which was also an archetype in m21
looks so fun to play lo amo de verdad quiero jugarlo!!!!
You might want collective brutality instead of thoughtseize ? allows discard and can drain life?
My best guess for silversmote is that they didn't want it to be an infinite blocker with something like nearheath pilgrim or bubbling cauldron
All the cards that triggered off of gaining 3 life triggered on your turn in M21, my best guess is that the black/white lifegain sub-theme was balanced using that timing restriction.

Grats Seth!
Could you take it to modern with heartless summoning to speed it up? Or maybe Syr Konrad as the win con with Echo of Aeons to "belcher" them for as many creatures as you have?
Of course, that's the jank way to do it. By the time we're milling our rites and library we may as well just thassa's oracle. How boring.
Could take it to Modern for sure. Hearthless Summoning is an interesting option. Also have stuff like Simian Spirit Guide.
