Couldn’t Seth have won the last game/match 1 vs Humans by keeping the Retreat, playing Retreat, land for turn and then scry+untap with the bounce land loop?
This is all live gameplay, even our favorite players make mistakes and sometimes the lines of play can be hard to see. Especially since Seth plays so many decks he might not have mastered the deck enough to see some intricate things. He's doing his best and playing interesting decks and that's why I love watching him!
In commander(Lord windgrace) I use world shaper, squandered resources, ashnods altar (you can use phyrexian too) and Nim deathmantle to creat infinite landfall. Love field of the dead and valakut!

Question - End of match 1 would the 2nd retreat not mean that you could have played a land untapped 2 of your creatures and basically tapped down their creatures every turn?
First match, if you keep the Retreat on top and double up, you can infinitely keep him tapped (each land self bounces and creates 2 Retreat triggers, one untaps a creature and the other taps theirs). He doesn't have direct damage and then you can do infinite scrying and win next turn.
22 minutes in your deck came through for you!!! Second retreat would've tapped down all your opponents attackers and infinite untap your own creatures! You could've scrying for the win on their turn Seth!

Protip: if you have valakut exploration and a scout in play, use the scout first. If you hit a land with valakut exploration you can play it as your land for turn.
50:48 It’s subtle, but THIS is where you lose game three against Rogues, by fetching an untapped Stomping Ground when a basic Mountain would suffice. Those two points of life ended up being the difference between 11 and 13 life against 12 power in the air. Granted, opponent could still have had removal or counters, but *shrugs*.
But can't you go to combat to untap creatures with Moraug? Attack but not with the elf? And in standard the combo also exists with Murasa Root gazer and another one or a wayward guide-beast

So many ways to make use of the landfall triggers. Since you've got blue in the deck, it would be pretty easy to substitute in a mill strategy. Well done MTGGoldfish!
I've been working on and playing with the tribe scout + retreat combo for awhile. I'm glad to see it in the limelight. Any reason you didn't include Oboro? It's effectively the same thing as a bounce land but being able to use it for mana really helps
During the last game if the first round, shouldn't you have kept retreat on top? With two, you could infinitely untap a sakura tribe elder to keep playing bounce lands, and the second trigger can be used to perma tap your opponents creatures. You essentially had them hard locked out of the game there, the only issue would be time
I can never tell with opponents who let Seth combo off. Do they do it so Seth runs the clock out or are they the type to never give up regardless the 0.1% chance for the mis-click. I appreciate seeing the combo in full since we get the occasional music montage at least.
(Regarding around 30:30) I am glad your opponent let you play it out, it is always disappointing and you don't get to show your excitement when you have some jank Against the 'Odds combo that your opponent scoops prior to.
I'm really surprised people didn't scoop to the on-board combo. I guess it's new, so they wanna "see" it, but it's pretty clearly a win so many times. They didn't even get music to pass the (rag)time.
Since we already have a bunch of green mana for other cards I think that llanowar Scout is better. Apart from artifact removal, the problem with Walking Atlas is it's a 1/1 and there are a lot of Lava Dart decks in Modern. Llanowar Scout is a bit more likely to survive removal.
Is Retreat to Coralhelm really necessary? You can get infinite untaps and infinite landfall triggers with Scout, bounceland, Moraug 1: Scout in bounce land, bounce itself trigger Moraug 2: Go to Moraug's combat, untap scout. 3. Scout in bounce land, bounce itself trigger Moraug 4. Go to Moraug's combat, untap scout etc etc
Id love to see a greater gargadon deck that isnt a restore balance deck, I feel like it could be sick with chromatic star and ichor wellspring type stuff

I think it's to avoid any possible confusion from this (from Moraug's gatherer page): "If the landfall ability resolves during your precombat main phase, the additional combat phase will happen before your regular combat phase. You’ll untap creatures you control at the beginning of the additional combat but not at the beginning of your regular combat." You don't want to accidentally count your regular combat phase into your attack, only to get to it and not have your creatures untap.
Cool deck, but (a) you don’t need infinite combats. Generally just a couple will do it thanks to Moraug’s pump. I’ve killed people a goddamn Birds of Paradise lol. And (b) some kind of tutor might help. Would Summoner Pact work or is that green only?

Skyshroud ranger also works, but that's not pioneer legal (so we could play this deck with more/lower cmc copies of the effect, if we wanted). Budoka Gardener is the same situation.

The red also gives the Valakut enchantment to combo that way. Even if this wasn't Against the Odds with Moraug, I don't think so.
