THIS is so close to my dream car. My grandmother owned a rally green 1968 Camaro 327. When I was a kid she drove me everywhere in it. When she passed away, the car was given to my father who did mickey mouse repairs instead of investing into restoring the car's heart and soul. He sold it because it became a subject of contention with my mother who believed that he was improperly investing into the car (which he was) and want him to get rid of it. One day I will find the exact car (I have the VIN) or another similar 68 and will resto mod it similar to the Seafoam Camaro or Tim Allen's COPO 68 Camaro.
Thank you, Marc for actually using your turn signals correctly, unlike all the idiots I see everyday who illegally, dangerously, and discourteously do not use them at all.
I’m going on 67 years old. Back in the day a friend of mine had a 49 with a 375 Fuelie motor in it. It was an ORIGINAL RAT ROD. Now the owner just has to do a frame off on that car and think COYOTE.
Would cry like a baby if this showed up for Christmas. I know hundreds of thousands would love it but for me personally would be amazing! Would Cruze non stop with little guy which shares my affinity for cars in general. Goose bumps on that dnyo though🥰🥰🥰🥰
Going with a 5-speed manual was a very smart move. And going with a Flaming River manual rack would have def given you that 10hp and made it much cleaner inside.
The key to being a healthy old timer is no sugar low ... low carb high protein diet with brockley spinach and Brussels sprouts fast twice a week supplement with magnesium taurate, Potassium with sea kelp and you have a good start to a healthy life style!
Why ,on the 49 Ford , didn't you clean all the old grease off before starting the king pin job so the new parts would not be contaminated ? I rally liked the HP increase on the 69 Camaro .
The loss from engine stand to rear tire should be closer to 20%. From a net sae rating , which is the engine in the car with a full exhaust and all accesories, the loss is generally in that 12% range.
5 speed must be nice on the highway since I’m about 3800 rpm at 70 mph in 4th in my Muncie M22 1970 Z/28. And yes I use Seafoam down the carb and in the tank. As a matter of fact I used it last week.
I had a Tremec five speed in my 1967 Camaro, and it was great. I went from a 2.2 first gear to a 3.27, and from a 1 to 1 fourth to a .68 overdrive. Final drive went from 3.08 to 2.09, so I was ready for Bonneville. I never had a problem with it.
Hello Detroit guys this is Dennis I like to show and everything that y’all do and rebuild on old cars and old muscle cars but I was wondering if y’all could ask Rick Ware what show and what episode that y’all did when y’all did like the free tea of a Ford car because that’s what I would like to build and that way I’ll be like a circuit dream car for thisSummer it would be nice to have as a second sweetheart roaster type deal but I just want to know where I will be able to find a kit or whoever to contact that situation for the roadster maybe Tommy will know thanks your friend Dennis
I wish one of your programs would reach out and rescue the 60's Mustang that my sister-in-law has. Her father passed away while doing some restoration and it has set in the garage ever since 😢
The seat belts in 68 and 69 Camaros were kinda clunky - you had two belts and two receptacles, one for the lap, and one for the shoulder belt. Most people never bothered with the shoulder belt, and that was likely the case here. There is a company that makes a retro fit retractable three point belt that fits in first gen Camaros that looks stock, and were I to win this car, I would probably buy that setup.
@@yosemite-e2v Correct. I have the same setup in my 72 Lemans that I drive every single day. It's the only car that runs right now. It only has 88,000 miles on it so I just keep driving it. I take the time to use both parts of the seatbelt system. I like feeling connected to my car. It is clunky but it works. LOL

Nearly 400hp to the tire in a car is alot of fun. Perfect driver build.

Super cool that they are posting these shows on YT. I sure miss these shows.
Great looking and sounding 69! Been a fan of Camaro's since I was a kid. Ended up building my 71 and will have it for life.
Thank you, Marc for actually using your turn signals correctly, unlike all the idiots I see everyday who illegally, dangerously, and discourteously do not use them at all.
Now this is a muscle car. They upgraded what they needed except for those wheels.
Tbh I think the wheels look pretty mean
Ya, the wheels lost a bit of the pureness of the vehicle. They’re exists better options, I’m sure. Great car, though!
At least they didn't put on chrome cragar 5 spoke wheels!!😝
I agree, the wheels would be better 'in period' instead of modern; it detracts from the charm. Otherwise really nice. Sounds excellent.
Love the Driveway Rescue, that you guys, that REALLY is what it’s all about.
How long did Pat have to pretend he was typing crap on the keyboard?
my favorite Uncle had a 49 just like that. Drove it every day until the mid 80's

Those Ford owners.. They seemed just over the moon ecstatic about the work done to their vehicle.....

6👍's up Detroit muscle thanks again for taking the time for us all to be with you for the great show
Beautiful Camaro. They are not wrong king pins are a nightmare I love older cars but I hate working on them
Try working on a 2020 car you'll take a older car anyday
Nice job putting more horsepower to use. Great upgrades to the suspension and the interior looks sweet!
To see tommy now from the long hair and trip pants the personality he is today good for you man

That Camaro sounds sooooo good!!
I click on Powernation videos with fear and trembling, knowing I'm going to be bludgeoned with ads. No pain, no gain.

Outstanding finish on the Camaro...👍👍
My opinion it’s perfect. Not over done in my opinion just right.
Very nice looking, 391, and rides well! I have cleared a spot in my garage for it.
Wow I'd forgotten about that Fisher body tag, unexpectedly brought back some memories
Wow, so pumped!! Hopefully I can win and share with the family on Sunday drives!!

The Old Single spinner Ford's don't see them hardly anywhere in Australia now even though we built them here too.. Last one I seen was a Utility
I love how the boys rarely put on seatbelts. Lol

This beat while u change the brakes is 🔥🔥🔥
Such a nice car. Well done
Please, guys, don’t give this car to Austin Lefort!
Lol. I think he got fired
Gotta love pats mini mullet
Who else agrees that a double hockey stripe doesn’t cut it? Yuk. But the rest of the car is awesome. I love that you found a RS.

When is this coming home to my garage my son is eager to take a ride
What does it take to get the rolling repair to come visit
Beautiful car all around

393/408 at the wheels, 442/442 at the crank. That's an 11.1% drivetrain loss at maximum HP, and a 7.8% drivetrain loss at maximum TQ.
Nice 69 Camaro a really good year
So what's the tax bill for whoever wins this?
Vinyl tops are freaking sweet.
I love a good beaver 🦦
I love restomods.
Talk about fun!
I can’t wait to drive my seafoam Camaro
Awesome Camaro!
I'll be home between Noon and 4 p.m. so you can deliver this beautiful car to my house.

Heck yeah.....!!!
What does a resto-mod car of this spec and quality sell for in the US?
Asking for Australia.
Cheers,
More than a rwd commodore I'd say
Id say at least 30+ thousand US dollars.
I wish one of your programs would reach out and rescue the 60's Mustang that my sister-in-law has. Her father passed away while doing some restoration and it has set in the garage ever since 😢
Yeah I bet a lot of people wish they could have a $60,000 restoration done to one of their cars for free.
Where you at??? I can help
Like the build minus the wheels, And why don't he wear his seat belt?
Don’t need a seat belt to drive, anyway. He was probably using the stock style ones, anyway, that are don’t go over the shoulder.

Roughly 12% drivetrain loss from the engine dyno
Normal
Where's the reasoning behind only changing 1 king pin?
Shadetree mechanic...literally lol.
Timing
I would of left the subframe alone unless if it is rusted out
True, but that subframe and suspension is night and day difference.
I really hope they replaced everything on both sides.
Shadetree mechanic...literally lol.
Don’t understand the interior
Sorry I can’t stand the 2 tone stripes and vinyl top,I’m sure someone loves it
Don't enter the sweepstakes, more chances for us who did, thanks.
Easy on my new car.
Did I tell you how much I love Sea Foam ??
rev that shit, 391 hp at 5000 rpm. you rate them like the factory use to.
