      Truuuue!. My idea is, I'd have an electric car with speakers to the outside of the car with a 427cc sound. Just press the audio button and people will hear you coming..
      I'm afraid the electric cars will be so quite you wouldn't hear one sneaking up on you. Very dangerous for pedestrians and cyclist.

      @SealofPerfection 3 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      @@burnychaplin4601 Nah. Chevy's are demonstrably better. Hold up better, more power potential. That's why Ford didn't stick with the FE motors and copied the BBC with the 429/460. Even with those, you have to put BBC rods and other parts in them to make them last.
      Like the FE's as classics, but time has spoken, and the BBC is clearly the superior.

      I have low mile 2002 SS, it may have electronics in it but it's still "garage" fixable for the most part.
      2 weeks ago I took off my intake manifold for the first time after unplugging half a dozen sensors, EVAP hoses, 8 injectors, fuel injector lines and gently guiding it out all in less then 2 hours on an F-Body!
      My point ?
      Even some OBD/OBD2 cars can be fun/challenging to work on while offering a simple way to diagnose the problem when there is one.
      I work with metals and I'm not a car mechanic by any means but I've fixed complex engine issues on my Chevy I'd never thought I'd be capable of fixing myself, all thanks to the on-board computer's diagnosis.
      It's only thanks to computer calculations can a 4000lbs+ car get to 60mph in under 3 seconds these days, take them away and not much has changed really.

    These classics were made to stand the test of time. The build quality of any classic like this, up to the 1990s, was and still is so immaculate. Solid built cars and trucks, man! This is the heart and humble beginning of the auto industry in general! I remember seeing my fair share of classics, as a kid in the 1990s, drive by on the roads back then. Ripped it out and put in a 555 cu in monster. Figured I would do it up the way I wanted since it turned out to be an altered VIN 6 cyl car anyway. Had to beef up everything in the drivetrain. Working on a total rewire now. Hope to be on the road soon. Thanks for the additional incentive to get 'er done! Mine's Tuxedo black/white stripe/houndstooth interior/full gauges. Very nicely done video by allowing us to hear the motor rather than the constant drone of a sales person. It's also great to see a car who's parts were likely produced in a plant my dad and grandfather could've had a hand in making. Thank you for this video :)

    Today's performance cars are great... All that technology. But it ain't the same as old school. Yeah the new cars may run circles around the old but you'll NEVER have the same experience/feel of old school power and sound. Those pushrod motors are pure ALPHA compared to the new electronic BS

    • @brandoGTR48
      @brandoGTR48 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      What does pushrod have to do with electronics? The newer motors are still pushrod.

      Depends. A bunch of idiots driving performance cars versus a good driver in an old school hot rod could punk alot of tech stuff.

    • @Hype679
      @Hype679 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I gotta beg to differ. The old school classics have a great look and feel, sure, but the newer ones are absolute rocket ships. It's almost apples to oranges. Plus, ngl, if I get in a wreck in a new school, I know there's a chance I'll survive.
      So old schools for the look and sound, new schools for out and out power and handling. Personal opinion.

    • @andrestimmermanis7346
      @andrestimmermanis7346 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I could nearly agree....but having had both it is a no. When younger I had a Torana SLR 5000 (Australian muscle car...sort of a Camaro equivalent) with a 400hp 327 and 4sp....thought it was the most awesome thing ever. I now drive an Audi B7 RS4 (manual 6sp) and there is simply no comparison...I would feel I was driving a death trap if I stepped back into the Torana.....would be a cool cruising car and not much more now. In the end there is no substitute for good brakes, grip and handling.....and the sound of an NA V8 pulling 8000rpm through the gears...well?! Have to say I would have this beautiful thing in a flash though......just gorgeous.

      Mine has about 5 1/2 turns lock to lock which explains the large steering input, this car has power steering though, mine doesn't which makes it very hard to drive.

      425bhp it's the big daddy of the classic camaros, COPO I believe. Insane power for a car from the 60s must light the rear wheels up like christmas trees.

    • @1965l88
      @1965l88 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      L88 put out 430 hp at 5200 rpm, rated that way for insurance purposes. With headers and a good tune they actually put out 540-560 hp at around 6600-6700 rpm. I have one in a '65 Chevelle I built, with updated heads and a solid roller cam it puts out around 580-590 hp. They're beasts, any way you look at it. The COPO Camaros usually had the 450 hp (true rating) L72 in them, or (very rarely) the all aluminum ZL1, which put out identical power to the L88.
