Last year i went to Belgrade with a group of friends. For the first time in my life, I was in shock over how happy i was. I remember one of my last nights in the cabaret club Lafayette, i was standing there looking at everything around me and thinking to myself, is this the happiest day of my life? Going back this year for sure. Just to clarify it wasnt the one party night that made me so happy it was the whole trip. For example, people where so kind. A lady was selling some homemade traditional spirits on the street near skadarlija and i did not have enough cash on me for a bottle and some tissues so she gave me some free tissues and let me go with the bottle, told me i could come back with the money another time. It was so unreal to be treated like a decent human being by a stranger from the beginning. Then i went down to the Docks to see if i could train with some of serbias best Crossfit champions which i've seen a lot on instagram. And low and behold they where there and welcomed me to come train with them?! Although, their training started at like 6 in the morning... Which i missed due to being a bit too hungover. If i would have stayed longer maybe i would have a few sober days for training 😅
I hope you felt our hospitality and kindness to all foreigners. You should visit Ada Ciganlija instead of Belgrade waterfront(ada - river island). You are allways welcome

Waw i love that church !! Is beautiful ,we have something similar now. We build a catedral ,the bigest orthodox catredal ,it' s near Palace of Parlamient. You didn' t visit it when you where here in Romania. That catedral you can view from the space just like Palace off Parlamient. Why? Becose when our King Michael died the royals family from Europe came for his funeral ( is on you tube) and they didn' t have enought room for them, so the highest priest ,Priest Daniel ( the cheef of ortodox church ) said this is need it! But the ppl are not happy becose that catedral cost us sooo much and we need that money for schools, hospitals ,but they built it anyway. I saw it on google i didn' t go, but i saw it' s huge, really huge. 😔

Thank you so much for the kind words Aenit, that means a lot to us.
Cheers!!🍻
2:00 - Brian, you are so right. Can't tell you how much fun I've had communicating across a language divide. So many little triumphs along the way when you both realize you've really communicated!
We were so happy we had the opportunity to visit Belgrade after being in Romania for a few months. If you haven't watched those videos you can check our Romania Playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PLNmogcEYSgyLoKKrWTvB9Kssz5kVffIKi.html

Hello from Belgrade 🙂
Welcome to us always. Belgrade has a lot of great places, but you need to know Belgrade and its surroundings. I lived in Paris and other cities. It's not that Belgrade is my city, but I wouldn't change it for any other city. Thank you and be wel l💚
We only wish that we had more time to see everything that we missed. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Cheers!!🍻
You are the first (and only) vloggers who make me feel as if I joined you on your trips, even though I am in my humble living room - and that is really something … million congratulations and thanks.
Thanks from a Serbian from miami:)

Thank you so much!!♥
Last year i went to Belgrade with a group of friends.
Thank you so much!!
Cheers!!!🍻
Thank you for this wonderful video of Belgrade ❤️

We wish we had known! We missed that part. 😔 Next time!! Thank you for watching and for the tip, Uros!
Cheers!!🍻
Another nice video guys - well done.
That city is the Atlantida and Antic Troya, Vincha and now Serbia!!!
That is the most important city on the planet!!!
The name of restaurant is "Stara Hercegovina" (Old Hercegovina), namely old geographical region, and the food name is "Karađorđeva šnicla".
Thank you 😊
Well, food and nightlife are at the top of the list, what Belgrade have to offer. The history, art and architecture are next in line. You missed a lot of places worth visiting. Ada Ciganlija is one of them.
Thank you for this great video. Come again.
Thank you for watching!

Looks like you had some walking to do. Enjoy your time there. We are currently in Spain...Malaga then Madrid.
So your adventure has begun!!! How are you liking Spain? 🍻
@@BrianandCarrie That was our 2 week vacation. Next trip is the BIGGIE.
My city - born and raised. So proud of my people. Loving, welcoming and resilient. They missed Ski Staza in Košutnjak park. Up on the hill with a magnificent view on the whole city. They also missed Zemun! Austro- Hangarian fortress and “Zemunski Key”….. a week is not enough to visit all things in Belgrade. Ah!!! Miss it!
We did miss so much, you're correct a few days isn't enough time. 😊
This year I’m taking my whole family back for the first time in 24 years and I cannot wait - thank you for the lovely video. God bless
Thank you and safe travels!!!
Skadarlia IS the most touristy street with "traditional" restaurants in Belgrade.
Restoraunts there are old but priced higher for Serbia
@@dzonikg Yes, some are old, but with new owners and everything written in Croatian alphabet. Some are new specialized in foreign dishes (eg pizza).
I think there are some boats/splavs that work during the day too. restaurants and bars
It isnt one of the pritiest cities, but it has a cool vibe!!
A nice feeling to it.
Really enjoy your content, would be great if you could include more prices of meals and accommodations.
We can certainly do that in our upcoming videos!! Thank you for watching!
Cheers!!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Thanks, sure to grow your subscribers!
😔
Really digging your videos, very simple but awesome info, nothing like current boots on the ground to get inspired by. We are planning to start traveling again which we did during COVID for a year so thanks for loads of honest info... Would love more links posted of the current countries 😂 can you post the link for the car service you used? I think it was called simpli city but I can't seem to find it anywhere online. Anyway, enjoy your travels!
Thank you, Amy and Bryon! We link as much as we can, and we are always trying to give as much information as we can. Here is the link! Highly suggest!!
Cheers!!!🍻 www.transportbudapesta.ro/
There is also a russian church next to the big one, also very beautiful!
Nice ,don’t forget to visit Budapest as well
We will be getting that direction in a couple years when we return to the region. It is on our list.
Cheers!!🍻
3:22 The name of that restaurant, пивница is pronounced Pivnitsa and it simply means pub or tavern
I am glad that you had a nice time in Belgrade. Have you visited the crypt of the St. Sava Temple?
We somehow missed the crypt, apparently the best part!! Next time for sure. Thank you for watching!!
Cheers!!!🍻
My friend you should try fruit and vegetables in Serbia. They are homegrown organic
We love all the farmer's markets that we have found. Everything is organic and inexpensive! In the states, we have to pay extra for organic! Makes you wonder why? Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!!
Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie same in Canada We are getting season vegetable local but it’s just not the same Out off season are truck from USA or Mexico and that’s sucks. Price and quality. O well fishing is good here. Lol. All the best in your travel
YES!! We are from Bellingham WA. and fish and crab often. Some of our best fishing has been off north Vancouver Island in Simoon Sound. Beautiful country!!
@@BrianandCarrie I am in Ontario we have good fish around me couple hours driving. Vancouver is 5 hours flight. So many times I tried to explain people from Europe how big is Canada and USA. Landmass In Europe for hour or less you can get from country to country and enjoy in diversity in no time. However travelling Europe is very nice experience. How long you guys stay in Balkan. Maybe I can recommend few sites and cities if you are interested to visit them
We are actually leaving next week. In the last 13 months we have spent 7 in the Balkans. Heading home for Nov. and Dec. then off to SE Asia.
I wouldn't say it's underrated, more like it's unadvertised.
Agree.
Thank you for a great Serbian video. Hope that you have enjoyed your stay as much as I got impression from your vblog.
Serbia is a beautiful country with lots of rich history. People are welcoming, passionate, honest and friendly. If you ever visit again try visiting some of the following sites: "Golubac Fortress", "Vinca Belo Brdo" archeological museum, Gamzigrad-Romuliana, Monasteries on Fruska Gora (near city of Novi Sad), Lepenski vir archeological site (very famous), Vrnjacka Banja (hot springs), Zlatibor mountain (has longest gondola ride in the world - 9km) , Kopaonik mountain, Avala, city of Nis (Birth city of Constantine the Great. Historians claim that 17 Roman Emperors were born on modern day Serbian territory) and so on...
Have a great travel where ever you go next and upcoming holiday season!
Thank you for all the suggestions and ideas, Aleksandra!! This is great, we hope to get back someday soon!!
Cheers!!!🍻
That restaurants name is pronounced like peeve-neat-za. Peevoh is beer.
The restaurant was Stara Hercegovina (Old Herzegovina). Why no video of the restaurant and the food?
Thank you for the name! We had some technical difficulties and were unable to get the video. 😔
VOLIM SRBIJU !!!
CHEERS!!!🍻
is a new Indian subscriber 👋 , love you guys 😄 . I wish you could travel and show us all across the US 🤩🤪🤑 .
Thank you for subscribing, Paul! We would love to travel across the US but we can't afford it! 😀 We will be home for the holidays and we will be doing a video of our hometown of Bellingham, WA. Thank you again for joining our channel!

@@BrianandCarrie I knew it , the cost of living crisis 😋
Medical insurance in the US is the main reason why. Private insurance would cost us about $800 a month each.
@@BrianandCarrie call Bernie Sanders 🤭
HAHA!! Sounds like you know US politics 🙄
Thanks guys what time of yr were you in serbia 🇷🇸
I heard the air quality was bad due to coal power generator
Hi! We were there in August.
You missed going to the Crypt in the Saint Sava church.
We did miss it!! We walked all over and somehow missed it. You are about the 10th person to point that out. So bummed we didn't see it. 😔
Hi, can you share the name of the restaurants you went?
Hi, Irena. Our mistake by not adding that information to the video. We tried to find the information online but haven't had any luck. Sorry, we can't help you. ☹
This used to be a great city when Jelen beer in the hotel Moscow was 0.5eur, espresso 0.25eur, and monthly rent was 50eur. Then in 2000 cryptojewea came and increased prices 10 times
Dobro dosli u Srbiji
Welcome in Serbien
Thank you!! We really enjoyed Belgrade!
Cheers!!🍻
How do you deal with the indoor smoking in some of these countries?
There is always outside seating!
Thanks for all the great videos. One question when you guys fly from country to country do you purchase one way tickets. Have you had any issues entering a new country with a one way ticket. I know that some countries might require and exit ticket in order to come into it. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks and keep up the excellent documentaries.
Most countries do not require an onward ticket. However, we are flying to Thailand in January, and they do. We will have to show this at customs when entering. We are going to do a video in the coming weeks about how we travel, where we decide to go, and the entire process from start to finish. Maybe that will answer any questions and be helpful. Thank you for watching!
Cheers!!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie That would be fantastic; if you can outline the planning process with emphasis on the airfare side it will help. Congrats on the newspaper post. Keep up with all the good videos and safe travels.

Is there a train or bus from Belgrade to sarajevo bosnia and Herzegovina. Is Belgrade safe for us citizens
Belgrade is safe for US citizens. We were there for 5 days and didn't have any problems. Just keep a low profile and you'll be fine. There is a bus but the cost to fly was very inexpensive, so we chose to fly. Thank you for watching!
Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie since I am a US citizen, and I am staying at sarajevo I could take a plane back and forth from sarajevo to belgrade to spend the whole day in belgrade and come back to sarajevo in the same day without any problem since I'm in sarajevo
