Meet Andreas von Beckerath, the ambassador of Sweden in Poland.
We asked him about his favourite spots in Warsaw. What does he like doing in free time?
Here's where he took us:
- Royal Łazienki Garden, a place where you can listen to classical music concerts for free,
- Agrykola Park, where you can do various sports
- Krakowskie Przedmieście with the beautiful University of Warsaw Campus - there's a monument for "permanent students", did you know? :)
- Places that connect Poland and Sweden, like King Sigismund's Column and PAST-a building
- Saxon Garden, one of the oldest public gardens in Europe

Jest Pan bardzo miłym i kulturalnym człowiekiem, obeznanym z historią Warszawy.Ten Król Zygmunt III Waza, pochodzący ze Szwecji, jak kazał napisać był 44 któlem Polski, czego nie było w oficjalnych przekazach historycznych.On wiedział, że przed naszą erą byli królowie lechiccy, czyli polscy i wszystkich razem do Zymunta III Wazy było 43.Był też Król Eryk, król Szwecji, Danii , Norwegii i Pomorza, polski Książę o imieniu Bogusław. Serdecznie pozdrawiam. ❤

Many thanks for this so nice and friendly upload, I am very glad that you enjoy Warsaw. Poland and Sweden have indeed common features and Poland is much more northern country than many of my compatriots would like to admit. We prefer to see ourselves as some kind of Italians of the North :)

In addition to the free concerts at Royal Łazienki Garden, it would great if Ambassadors, from any country, also offer free lectures about their home countries in that garden.

Based on my experience, I can confidently say that of all the Nordic countries, I like the Swedes the most. I was part of the Norwegian group Orkla, as well as the Swedish ABBA, and I am still in contact with someone from Sweden who lives in the lovely Kungshamm. Thank you, Mr. Ambassador, for your love for Warsaw and Poland
