The story of how the Poles restored Warsaw after the Nazis flattened it is amazing. Using historic paintings, drawings, photographs, and tiny fragments saved from the ruins and secretly stashed away in underground archives, they had a pretty good idea of what the place had looked like. So they started the enormous effort of restoration.....you've been there, so you can see what a brilliant job they did. Not only Warsaw, but Wrocław, Gdańsk, parts of Poznań and other Polish cities were similarly restored. The only major city not to have been virtually flattened was Kraków. My girlfriend is Polish, so we often visit Poland and she sometimes buys a type of cream cheese only available there to make delicious Polish cheesecake. Our German friends think it's wonderful, too! Thanks for the video (and the Romanian series) - looking forward to more! Cheers, Keith (Brit in Berlin).
Unfortunately most of the restoring was done in Warsaw first using whatever useful materials were found in other cities, something that older generations of people from Wroclaw still feel bitter about (my grandparents for example).

my grandfather that was born in Poland was born 10-20 miles away from Warsaw and every time I watch these videos gives me good vibes of me and him hanging out a lot.
Beautiful video! I remember being blown away by how much I loved Krakow for my first time in Poland! Warsaw looks equally as incredible and worth a trip!

Beautiful isn't it? Great historical architecture, great taste in design, great food, nice atmosphere, clean and respect for tradition, culture and heritage. Well done.
I lived in Warsaw for several months (I don't know the duration exactly) last 2017 and transfered to Monaco and South of France and stayed there for more than a year but I miss Warsaw more than Monaco and South of France now that I am back in the Philippines and I don't know why😊

Uroczo to napisałaś jak o kobiecie, bo Warszawa po polsku to rodzaj żeński 😍😅
Words cannot describe how excited I am that you guys finally get to experience Polska! 🇵🇱 I'm sure you will enjoy! Don't forget to have some polish donuts, zapiekanki and gofry! Oh, and delicious flavored vodka - any soplica flavor will do (my fave: hazelnut or salted caramel)! Do try beer with rasberry juice/cordial - piwo z sokiem! Trust me!
Yay ! Poland finally gets recognized 🥳💗💗
This brought back so many memories ❤️ Poland is absolutely stunning.
@Grupa Trzecia copy-paste, is this really only what u can do?
Poland is not stunning. Streets in Poland can be dirty. Theres graffiti on many buildings etc.
You do realise that opinions are subjective? I loved it. Considering the history it is an incredible place to visit. Would go again.
