Wow, there was such a youthful innocence in my eyes 2 minutes ago when I clicked on "Oldest" while giggling to myself, thinking I was the only one who had this idea.
The comment section on any other youtuber's first video: "The legend is born!" The comment section on Man Carrying Thing's first video: "Look at the youthful innocence in his eyes!"
He doesn’t decide to kill Elthokar just because of Moash though. It’s when he learns from Dalinar that Roshones punishment was to be exiled where he “couldn’t do any harm” Elthokar is directly responsible for Kaladins family falling apart
Everyone's talking about "Youthful Innocence" I'm just here amazed that he actually unironically did the "drink before you start the essay" from his skit on video essays!
I felt like kaladins arc was important even though it was difficult to get through because that anger and pain was fueling him and his desperation to make things okay in wok is somewhat selfish, he does it for his own sanity, and once everyone is safe and he is working among the lighteyes he has to confront and let go of what he had been clinging to so hard for such a long time. He wasnt just sad he was traumatized and he refused to see the truth because he was afraid of it so if he just adjusted normally I feel like that would've felt wrong
The hair difference is... Substantial. I saw one of your other old videos around when they came out. I didn't even connect the dots seeing the more recent stuff.
Kaladin is both scared and filled with righteous fury that he has to get over. He was made a slave by these people and it wouldn't actually make sense for him after every other noble heart him so I can live with his growth proses.
Wow! He looked so passionate here. He doesn't care if people are watching. Maybe this is what TH-cam does to people. It drains our hopes and dreams. But i have to sell my soul for view, i would.
The more I think about it the more I disagree honestly shallan and Kaladin are two sides of the same coin.. they are both mentally crippled by their pasts in the same way. Shallan didn't even speak for a whole year and its not like she could have just chosen to speak, her mind was in a fog and kaladin has the same fog in his mind over what happened to him he couldn't have just chosen to act properly he was sick in the same way a body can be broken
Killing the king would've been a much better plot device if it'd been more focused on Moash's revenge, helping his friend get the justice he himself couldn't. The idea of things somehow magically getting better if Dalinar becomes king was so antithetical to Kal's character. I understand Moash making that argument, I'll never understand the decision to make Kal consider it a valid one.
Why wouldn't he consider it? He just found out about the king's extreme lack of care regarding Roshone and therefore by extension Tien's death along with Dalinar's admitting of being complicit in the poor handling of that situation. He would certainly be inclined to stand aside while Moash sticks a blade in what is essentially the murderer of his brother. This is also why the line " oh shit he's Dalinar's Tien" is so much more resonant. He is framing his understanding of Dalinar's love for Elokhar not only from the point of view of his brother. But from the point of view of the boy, Elokhar killed. Him choosing to protect that mofo is probably the single hardest thing for him to have done at that point.
The youthful innocence is shocking. I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since this video came out. I remember watching this years ago. Time goes too quickly. Holy God, we’re all gonna be dead so soon.
"Shallan is the best character" Can someone translate this? Unfortunately, I don't speak wrong. The best character is obviously Lift. Ok, seriously, though. I think I also prefer Shallan over Kaladin, but Lift is definitely my favourite character as of WoR. As of RoW... I'm not so sure any more. Lift, Rysn, Navani, ... So many good characters. I also REALLY liked Raboniel. She was brilliant.
Rysn is my favorite side character I think. She's super interesting and fun, and she is even more amazing in Dawnshard. Make sure you read Dawnshard as it is an amazing novella
Look at that youthful innocence he used to have, carrying the thing all these years sure has taken it's toll
