- Being on-call as a Conservation Officer can be quite intense....but sometimes being forced to stay put due to being on-call can lead to just as intense of a weekend. Off-Grid Cabin projects, fitness training, bottling meat, pizza oven cooking, new puppy, and a really, really cool BLUETTI SOLAR PANEL project. It's a jam-packed weekend full of goodies - tune in to catch all the excitement!!

Happy ‘Spring’ Chuck, although it’s still pretty wet and cold here in SW WA. USA. I really like those new panels you installed. We have a camper van that we like to use year-round, even in Montana winters. I already have 300W in panels on my roof which are less than efficient because they’re fixed to the location and orientation in the way we park. These Blueti panels would probably double the efficiency of what I have now just by being able to position them for the best solar capture, and I could easily stow them while traveling. Another big plus. Hoping alls well with you and yours. My heartfelt condolences on the passing of your good friend. Be well. Happy trails!
The panels are great Bob. I’ve set them up in the most peculiar places. And positioned perfectly for the “moment”.

I don't think you will have any problem with that fitness test. Back in 1986, while teaching a CFC/HE course in Carmanville, a Conservation Officer from Gander, whose last name was Porter, helped me with the course. He really made the course interesting. Thought I would mention this.
Hey Reginald. I’m thinking that was my father, Bruce. He was a conservation officer for 33 years. He lives in porterville but he taught the course all over central Newfoundland. Small world buddy. 👍

Your right some people leave us to early condolences from Lee and Myself. If you have any problems with creosote on the panels closest to the chimney wood stove glass cleaner might work well. One thing I saw missing on your supper plate was cranberry sauce take care we will see you in the next video

Haven’t had any creosote buildup yet thankfully. Stove doesn’t let off much smoke at all once it’s going at a certain temp so all good. Wil give them all a good cleaning once it warms up.
LOVE cranberry sauce. Just didn’t have any that day. It why I tripled up on the gravy lol

Well we learn something new every day. I did not know you are a C.O.. Kudos to you and all CO's for helping us to look after our natural resources! We run into the CO's on our journey's once in awhile and they are always friendly & helpful. And I'm being 100% real about this. In my 50+ years of enjoying the wilderness, I've probably only ran into one CO that was on a power trip. Pretty much all are super nice and wanting to share their knowledge to help educate us about our natural environment. Always love running into you guys! - - -

Hope you pass your test, don't miss the days of doing those fitness tests, but I bet, I and still do it, Mind over matter... That's were the old dogs have an advantage, we know how to push pass the pain and burning lungs to succeed...
Absolutely bud. Experience shows to start off slow, up the heart rate at a sensible level, then push through. Tearing into a test flat out usually doesn’t pan out other than leaving you nauseous and excessively winded.
So very sorry for the loss of your friend. Need to make the most of the time we have on this planet. Condolences to all who knew Her.

I’ve only known him for 11 months, but he’s definitely one of my best friends. We hunt and fish together. One of the friendliest people I know. I’d love to go to Labrador with him sometime, maybe even meet you (on good terms. Lol)

Yea I certainly did!! They were so healthy. Makes them good to cook. (I actually referred to aunt ina and uncle roger while pouring the gravy - they make fun of me as I love a lot of gravy lol)

Hey there Chuck! Ken here. That goose sure looked good. That musket you have, does it work? I have 2 “in line” muzzle loaders . Slowly working my way up to the flint lock. I enjoy using them even if just for target shooting. I was wondering what you was gonna do with the old cabin. Thought it would make for a great rental cabin for such folks from like 22 hours drive away. Lol. Must be nice to still have snow. I soon have to get the mower geared up. Nice to see all looks well. Maybe the next video will have you with that pack full of hoses on and you walking with snowshoes on as well. Lol.
Haha. Hi there Ken. The muzzleloader was my great grandfather’s and is in a decommissioned state now. I also have another still hanging on the wall of my dads house. I will hang that one as welll once I bring it up.
I’d love to have a piece of land next to me with capacity to house guests for the summer months at least. Especially for those about 22 hours drive away lol
Going to Labrador is at the top of my bucket list.
