    Thank you sooo much for making this video and instructions. I would have been lost without them. Especially the part about picking a SIM card and how to activate it and use it in the camera. I needed a camera for the farm. We have had multiple thefts and many large items of my dads had been stolen through time. I had narrowed the camera options down to this one and one other brand that was a trail camera. Then after a search on the internet, found your youtube channel and watched all the videos on this Reolink 4G camera. I knew after all your testing that it had to be worth the purchase to try it out. I even picked up one of the extension antennas you had mentioned in the antenna shoot-out you did. Set up was a breeze after bringing this video back up after receiving all the parts and pieces. Now I'm off to mount it where nobody can reach it and catch some bandits. Keep up the great work and excellent reviews and testing. I'm a loyal follower now.

    Thank you! You are very much more informative than anyone at ReoLink! I asked them about a sim card, and they literally just sent me a link to T-Moble's home page....
    I told them......that's not what I asked.
    It's people like you who let clueless people like me, own and operate things like this.
    I have a property in a very rural area that I want to put a storage shed on, so I don't always have to transport things back and forth, and I want to leave my RV there as well, but....everyone knows, there's plenty of meth-heads, and other nasty people wanting to steal, or break your stuff, even out in the rural areas.....
    You can put up all the signs you want, but nothing beats an actual security camera!
    Thanks man!

    NOT COMPATIBLE WITH VERIZON… I spent 2 hours on the phone today attempting to add two REOLINK GO PT Plus cameras to my Verizon account. The IMEI numbers on the cameras would not be accepted on line with Verizon and I got the error message to contact customer support. Customer support told me Verizon would not support these cameras on their wireless network and told me to try two different cameras the names for which the Verizon tech provided. If you want to use your Verizon account to manage these cameras, look for another camera!!

    Another great and informative video. As you already know, I have 5 of them that I use as trail cameras and I love them. I wish you would of hit a little bit more on the data. I think that would of been very helpful for new buyers. In my opinion, 1GB of data is plenty per month. Simply save the picture of video of your choice and at the end of each month, go into the settings and clear the card. That way your 1GB of data is always refreshed. Maybe that'd be good for another video on in depth operation of the camera. Regardless, great video Dave. It's because of your first video a year ago is why I bought 5 of them at once....I was sold on them. Glad I trusted your review. I'm definitely not disappointed. Thanks Dave..... Dale from Tennessee

    • @Elkmonger
      @Elkmonger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The smallest data plan I could find is 3GB and that's $25 per month. What do you mean clear the card? How does that refresh you 1GB of data? If you mean clear the memory card in the camera that has nothing to do with you data plan. The camera automatically deletes the oldest video when necessary. I do have a major problem with these cameras. If they go offline for any reason they seem to not be able to reconnect. So if I turn them off and move them to a different location or if a battery goes dead these cameras are a real PAIN IN THE ASS to get back on line. I have one right now that was working two days ago and I brought it in to top off the battery and move it to a new location and now the ATT sim card is a no go. ATT says it's active, but Reolink is not having any of it.
      This guy in the video jumps from one sim card to the next to the next and has no problem. It would be completely miserable for me to jump sim cards.

      @dalewalker2379 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Elkmonger I'm not sure that I totally understand everything you're saying, but I will try to answer as best I can. When I'm talking about clearing the card, I'm talking about going in and clearing the memory card. Yes I agree, it doesn't affect your data plan. My data plan goes from the 6th of every month to the 6th of the next month and it's 1 GB. I watch and pay attention to how much my camera uses, I've had them since March and they've never even came close to using 1 GB. So just as a habit I clear the memory card remotely with my phone once a month. During that month if there's any videos that I want to save or pictures, I save them to my phone that way when I clear the card nothing's lost that's important to me. I'm on a 1 GB per month plan. I have five cameras. I got my 1 GB plan through red pocket. I bought the cards that ran through AT&t. So I have a 1 GB AT&t nano SIM card and each camera. I've already figured out that I'm not going to go over my 1 GB data. I've never had the problem that you describe. I have my cameras in an area of woods that is in thick heavy dense cover. Had to go back and get them one time to charge them up because they were going down and the solar panel couldn't keep up, but I don't blame the camera because they were getting little to no sunlight on the best days. I can take the camera out of the woods bring it home charge it up turn it back on and it sinks right back up and pick signal. Hope this helps in some way, thanks

    • @dalewalker2379
      @dalewalker2379 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Elkmonger my 1 GB of data to Red Pocket using AT&t is $10 a month per card. So I'm spending $50 a month for five cameras. I can live with that because any satellite camera like spy point is a minimum of $10 a month. Cameras work just like Dave's in the video. I can turn them off bring them home turn them back home and they sink right back up

    • @Elkmonger
      @Elkmonger 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dalewalker2379 Thanks Dale. I have one camera on a SimpleMobil sim card and it's never a problem. The ATT cards seem to be the problem. Once linked up the cameras work great for me. Being able to pan and tilt remotely is crazy. It's almost impossible to get excited over a regular trail camera now I just hate disturbing an area. I'm especially frustrated now. I leave for Colorado Elk on Saturday and would like to have my cameras out while I'm away. I just now started getting bucks on the cameras. I'll still set it and pull the camera card when I get back.

    Thanks for responding to my message. Just watched a video you did on the digipettor trail camera. Would you recommend this for watching my hog trap with a cellphone control device. The problem I'm having is T Mobile is the primary cellular carrier in Liberty, Ms. The Eiot card would be roughly 10 dollars a month. Reolink go camera with solar panel on AMAZON for $89.00. I value your advice. Since I'm on a budget!!!!!

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Digipettor is hard on batteries. The included solar panel hasn’t kept after which makes the camera more expensive to operate (all 4G cameras will have a cost for the data consumption) Most cameras will be $10 per month or more and usually that’s for pictures only (videos would be extra). I like my Reolink’s because I can use Eiotclub (at approximately $10 per month) and I get videos and the live view.

    PROS CONS- we have 5 of these on my property, I love these cameras, BUT! They have a temperature rating for the battery life and won’t charge no matter how much sun they receive at low temperatures. During spring summer fall these have been above and beyond what I expected. They trigger great for all size animals based on sensitivity settings, having the ability to follow animals is amazing, and these are very quite when they are moving especially if you have them over ten feet up. Mine are mostly 12-14 because of crack heads. I have lots of game and they are triggered a lot which my wife and I watch a lot, and the 1 year eoitclub or whatever plan worked epic. Plenty of data so far and you can check it to see what have used on there site. The camera also tells you how much storage you have used on your sd cards but I would advise you to get the 128 so you can stray from going and checking it. But you can record the footage you like to your phone directly so technically you could get away with a smaller card, they come with 32 but I would get bigger. The BAD! If you plan on using these for late season which I am, every storm they seem to lose signal and I have to go out and reconnect the signal by turning the camera temporarily on and off which completely screws over my stealth plan of attack watching wildlife. The batteries drain in the winter with use which is common sense especially with low temperatures but if these aren’t in the perfect place to receive maximum charging they will go dead and stay dead, which you will have to go get them and charge them in the house. Also after the get so low you will lose signal until they reach a certain charge. Our late season in under way (Washington idaho) and 3/5 cameras are down after a few cold fronts and checking them through the 4g. If you don’t have super cold fronts GET THESE CAMERAS! I’m just giving my opinion so far. A lot of the battery failure is limbs bending way down after big snow and partially shading so give the solar panels plenty of room, which I did well on 3 of them the other two limbs bent down almost 2.5 feet. Knowing what I know now I would not use the instant notice features on camera/cell to keep myself from checking them constantly in the winter, I would check cameras only a few times a day to save camera battery in the winter. All and all these are a game changer. I’m going to buy a few more next year. You can cover a massive area with these cameras. Just some tips on these. This dudes channel is why I got these cameras, and I’m grateful for the information. I also camouflage mine and added moss and they vanish, sometimes if it wasn’t for the solar panels I wouldn’t see them at all. Enjoy if you get these. They are way better than regular cell cams and make it extremely fun watching wildlife for way longer because of the pan and tilt features than just a stationary camera.

The bright white camera stands out in a natural woodsy environment. Will the sun fade the camera lens? UV rays sometimes make tinted plastic oxidize and look murky. Will the Reolink go be able to send out text notifications with the EIOT plan.??? I went to their website to look at their plans, and they state that the trail camera plans don't have sms or voice. Also there doesn't seem to be a way to contact the company. When I click contact, nothing comes up.

    How much data did your cameras use over a year?

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I average less than 1gb per month per camera. Many factors go into your data usage and I feel I have mastered the settings and habits that limit my data usage. (I’m cheap, what can I say) 😁

    GREAT STUFF! I ordered the camera and SIM card. It's all working fine. Now I need to buy data for my SIM card... Can you explain the Eiotclub data plans, please? Why would anyone buy the “120GB 360day” plan for $400, when they can get the “Trail Camera 360day Unlimited” for $96 ?

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. The Eiotclub names their plans but if you click on the plan it gives you the actual data. For instance the unlimited plan for 360days is 7GB. No doubt the unlimited name is a bit misleading. For my Reolink’s between 1 and 2gb per month is enough. That 7GB plan spread out over 12 months is not enough. Hope this helps

      I use Eiotclub SIM cards and they offer 2gb of data per month for $10. (2gb is more than enough for my usage, but usage varies among users). Eiotclub rates drop to 8.33 per month when prepay for 24gb spread out over 360 days (approximately 2gb per month)

    Hi, HF. You've sold me on the camera, so thanks for the video... and I've invested the huge sum of $5.40 (after NY state Tax) for the EiotClub Sim card... but have a concern about the fact that the company supporting the SIM card says that it will not support Talk and Text. (Their spiel pasted here: "☆ Compatible and Convenient Data Service - Our SIM cards have been Tested and there are PERFECT for a variety of IoT devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, PCs, watches, pet trackers, security cameras, trail and game cameras for hunting, 4G routers, GPS devices, car locators and more. Data Only, Not support talk & text." So I have to ask... how are you getting sound? Have you tried 2-way comms? And, yes... I used your links to get to Amazon. Salute! ~JLB

      I use Eiotclub sims (link in the description). They have a 2GB a month plan for about $10 per month. Their cards come preloaded with 300mb for free to try their service to see if it’ll work for you 👍 I usually use about 1GB per month per camera. Great videos and mostly because of your videos I purchased this camera system for my boathouse property. Just recently watched your other video regarding the remote antenna and will be ordering that soon. My camera is installed in an area that has poor cell reception and the video tends to buffer while watching live stream videos. I do have a question regarding camera functions... I have the pan and tilt set in a specific direction and was curious if there was a setting that allow me to automatically return it to this position after scanning? With the cameras poor cell reception it's quite timely in getting it set back to this location. Thanks!

      There are a number of considerations when it comes to data use. The camera uses very little data recording the video and sending you the notifications. When you playback the videos or watch the live feed is when most data is consumed. I have my playback and live video quality at about the lowest setting possible. This saves on data. Also limit your time watching the live view (I know that’s hard 😜)

      @@HuntingFarmerOfficial what I tried to say is that Reolink go pt used a lot of data . I’m 100% sure that you’ll need about 100GB for one month. Definitely not under 100G . Not !!!

      @@catalinbelibou5812 in the above reply I’m giving pointers on how to conserve on data. I have been using Reolink GO’s and GO PT’s for about two years now and have never once used more than 2gb of data per month (usually it’s less than 1gb a month for me). Like I said above…. You either have your quality settings way too high or you’re watching the live stream much more than I do!!
