    This worked for me. Apart from slicing up my fingers and thumbs trying to get the keys out from the radio, it works perfectly without compromise. The only thing I will say is that the sound only came out of the left speaker (even though the radio audio was unaffected) but I managed to redress the balance. And I was able to feed the cable through the closed glovebox door. Thanks again.

    For anyone thats coming here doing this, I did mine today. No issues at all fortunately. Used this method but you don't need to remove the battery cable so you dont need a code. Also, I bought the cable and the keys off amazon for about 10euro.
    Great Video! Thanks for this.

      Just make sure you're careful when inserting the keys as they aren't very sturdy and can bend easily.

    • @FredDyslexic
      @FredDyslexic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wire works by being plugged in the back of the radio system. Then the wire is fed through the cubby hole, then you just plug in the Aukey receiver

  • @ColinWatters
    @ColinWatters 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you clarify... You say you needed a cable with a 10 pin connector but at several points in the video you can see it's a 12 pin connector you have fitted in the radio.

    • @FredDyslexic
      @FredDyslexic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's 12 pin, sorry for the confusion.

  • @patrickdaly4742
    @patrickdaly4742 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not being funny but how did you connect the aux to stereo too. Much random chatting instead of straight to the point

  • @ColinWatters
    @ColinWatters 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Edited: This may help some people who do this mod and find it doesn't work.... Problem is the pins on the radio are quite small in diameter and the inserts in the connector can be too big so they don't make contact! I had to dismantle the connector on the cable and press in the leaf on each insert to get my cable to work.

    • @FredDyslexic
      @FredDyslexic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks man, i struggle with explaining things. thanks.

    • @318d
      @318d 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the leaf on the insert? where is this

    • @ColinWatters
      @ColinWatters 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@318d the tiny electrical contacts inside the connector are small square tubes that slide over the pins in the radio. On one side of each tiny tube there is a section pressed IN to make a thing like a leaf spring that wipes/presses on the pin when it's inserted. On the other side there is a similar section pressed OUT so that it acts as a barb preventing the contact being removed from the plastic. I took a photo so I knew how it went back together. Then I carefully pressed in the barbs which are visible through holes in the plastic and removed the three contacts by pulling gently on the wires. Then I pressed the leaf springs in a bit to make better contact. Then I levered the barbs back out so they would still retain the contact in the plastic block. Then I pushed the contacts back into the plastic. The contacts are small and easy to break so do the at your own risk. You need tiny tools like micro screwdrivers and a scalpel to lever the barbs out.
      There is a photo here that shows similar contacts but slightly different design. This photo is taken of the leaf spring side. The barbs side is down. hackaday.com/2019/02/28/inside-the-secret-world-of-crimping/

      @FredDyslexic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late response, if all is well and you sorted it out proud of you 😂😎 but I mean if you learnt nothing from this video, of which I dont blame you, the cable in the description is all you need, and with some keys to access the back of the radio, you should be able to clip the wire right on into the back of it, then feed the wire(left of the console) to the cupboard thingey, there should be a little plastic poke able hole, feed it through then to garnish it of, place the aux male port through, and job sorted.
