I have a 2008 Rogue that was given to me as a gift from my grandparents, it’s been a good car for the year (or so) I’ve owned it. Transmission is still very smooth as well.
I just bought mine 2 months ago. 2021 Nissan rogue. It gets sluggish at times when I accelerate. Thank you for this video. I’m not really a car guy and didn’t know how to explain the problem. Thanks a million bro!! You are doing the lord’s work. You never know how what you do impacts others. Thanks 🙏🏽
My fiancee has a 2009 Nissan rogue that we bought from my parents who bought it new. Since we have owned it, I've had to replace CV axels, the drive shaft, and I think I changed the gas cap for an evap issue. I don't know if the transmission fluid has ever been changed, so I better do that before I check another issue off on your top 5 list. I'm glad 1A auto makes so many videos for her exact car! I'm about to replace her valve cover and you guys have a perfect video for me to follow along with. Thanks!
Aside from general maintenance, my 2013 rogue seems to break down with some kind of issue every 2 years, almost like clockwork. Bought used in 2017 with 46,000 miles on it and CVT went out around 49,000. According to the dealership, the belt melted. Nissan very reluctantly replaced a component and added a cooling system. Then I twice had issues with the tensioner pulley, followed by wiper motor failures, two alternator failures, and a radiator that has gone bad. I have multiple rattling noises and rough acceleration from time to time. I love my vehicle, but I am not at all impressed with it. I hesitated to jump from the Honda/Toyota ship, and I was a fool to do so! This will be the only Nissan I ever own.
As someone who owns a 2013 rouge. Don’t do it. Yes it’s a comfortable SUV, and I am a very safe driver; regardless my car was very loud and shaky before I got a full set of brakes and Rotors. Now my transmission is really messed up and from all the shops and mechanics I’ve been to, they’re giving me a price of $3,500-$5,000 to get fixed. I need a who new transmission rebuild plus the labor work. So unless you’re willing to make that commitment stay away from this model and any Nissan.
man sorry to hear that i have an 08 and havent had any issues besides the usual maintenance and few recalls! how many miles are on it when this all started going downhill? im at 90K
@@12bitizthewaytogo92 Change that fluid religiously every 25,000 miles and get a transmission cooler if you don’t have one. Mines has 140,000 miles on it. I change my CVT fluid about once a year, it’s cheap and easy, plus I have a cooler. She accelerates smooth and there’s no whining sound like I’ve noticed on other CVTs.
Wow. I've got a 2011 with 235,000 + miles and only problems I've ever had is CV shaft replacement, both sides, and a starter. I would still drive it across the US and not worry.
Dude that rotor shield was EXACTLY what I was trying to identify. Thank you!!! I kept hearing something that sounded like something was hanging under the car and scraping the pavement. Bent out the shield and wouldn’t you know it...quiet as a church mouse. Wish I’d have watched this video an hour ago lol
as owner of one of these, I can confirm at least 3 out of the ones mentioned. the major one is always the CVT, which can be 'solved' by installing an external CVT cooling system, around $500 USD, overall, good SUV.
I'd like to find one cheaper and hook it up.....my c.v.t. failed at 125,000...cost $4500 to replace with one of those jenco transmissions...they all come from that company- its a total scam. Clean profit for the tranny shops.
2012 Nissan Rogue - 42k miles original owner. Took to dealer, for slipping on the right side and noise. Engine Subframe(Cradle), control arm, axle boot, stabilizer bar replacement recommendation for $3,900. They are crazy. Bushing are built into the subframe, can’t be replacement (found videos that show they can be but no mechanic will deal with that). Long story short, had it all replaced for $2,300 at my mechanic. Not sure if subframe is a must replacement but trust my guy. The engine subframe alone was a $1,000. Disappointed with Nissan’s build design of this piece. This will be a headache for many Rogue owners.
I own a Nissan 2013 with 180k as of today. I still have the original brake pads. The only issues I've ever had with the Rouge is the AC compressor and the doors locks. I replaced one CV on the right side. I have never replaced the oil for the CVT but religiously change the engine oil at the dealership. I have to replace the catalytic converter to pass inspection this year. All the items mentioned in this video have NOT been an issue.
My sister has this car. Transmission blew out during first year. Nissan fixed it for free and she had a courtesy car for 6 months! Trans being going strong for 10 years, surprisingly. Cv axles just teared recently
Great video. I have had 4 out of 5 of these issues you talk about, My EVAP hasn't given me issues yet (knock on wood) but have had other issues as well. I bought my 2012 Rogue used in 2018 with 50k miles on it, it was an (insurance claim car). I have 165k on it now and I think my PCV valve needs replaced and/or my spark plugs. The past two years I spent just about 4k on fixing my Rogue. The blower motor last year and this year the axils, boots, sway arms, hub bearings, all wheel stuff. But I do love my Rogue my goal is to get 250k miles out of it. All my other vehicles I got 250k on my Chevy Cavalier and traded it for my Chevy Malibu 260k before I sold it to buy a 2011 Hyundai Elantra which was a terrible car, only got barley 200k on that car and had more problems than my Nissan ever had.
I have 2010 @60 k. In my case, the only issue is the occasional gear engagement problem. It is recurring. I mentioned this to a local mechanic but he seem to have no clue about the problem.
I’ve owed a 2008 and now a 2013. I regret every penny. From time to time there is always an little annoying issue. I had to replace the ac compressor on both rogues. What a pain 🤯 The car is good when there is no problems lol
If you are getting a horrible rattle in a 2008-2014 Rogue look up NTB14-018 Technical Service Bulletin. You can fix it for $1 with a big hose clamp, or go to the dealer where they will lie to you and estimate like $1000 in exhaust work.
Bought a 2008 Rogue off my mother in law when she got a new car. She had already replaced the CVT. But I do a drain and fill on the CVT fluid annually (Idemitsu is a good OEM quality fluid at a fraction of the price of Nissan branded, just get the right kind). Have done the other fluids also (coolant, brake fluid, regular oil changes). New tires, battery, serpentine belt, spark plugs and coil packs (one went bad) since we’ve owned it also. Recently replaced the clutch on the ac compressor since we lost ac, worked great. But what do you know, now either the resistor or blower motor has gone (fuses still fine), so getting ready to replace those. Gonna do a brake job at the same time. It’s got 230k miles but still runs and drives great, albeit did need the new CVT years ago.
I have a 2012 nissan rogue I have put on it 94k miles and is being grate no problem at all. I did a road trip over 1000 miles back and forward and didn't have problem
I've had my rogue for four years and experience three issues out of the five replace the blower motor need to change the transmission fluid and definitely the front right boot is leaking thank you for the video
I have a 2008 Rogue. It has been a very good vehicle since I bought it brand new. You are correct though. The CVT transmission does have a vibration to it. I took it to the Nissan dealership before the warranty ran out and they never acknowledged the problem. That is why I am never buying a Nissan ever again. They don't honor their warranty. The vibration went away and the only major repair was with my transmission but it was only very minor. One thing you have to remember is that if you change the transmission you will need to have to take it to the dealership to have it synced with your car! Somehow the transmission is synced with the car's computer and this can only be done at the dealership. Luckily, my problem was very minor that I did not have to do that. The car still runs excellent! Like new!
Also.. 6. Lower control arms 7. MAF sensor 8. Heat shields (causes rattling noise) 9. OEM drive belts go bad super quick 10. Inner & outer tie rods. But if you're unlucky... 11. Rack and pinion 12. Steering shaft 13. Bose subwoofer (in spare if you have bose system) 14. Possible driver side front steatbelt buckle causes airbag light blinking
all-in-all bought new in 2008 and 237,000+ miles and going. Had all these issues to some extent, especially after 160,000 mi. Luckily, the CVT has been ok on ours- had a couple fluid changes and that's all. repairs- are reasonable. Good mechanic and some DIY- repair costs haven't been terrible. Most interesting incident -Had a mouse get inside the blower motor and bust some fins!
Its now 2 years later...that c.v.t. transmission stilll holding up??? Mine crapped out at 110,000 miles, going 30 miles per hour on a side street......$5000 to replace.....I beg you, o to keep an eye on that cvt. and don't push it hard!!! Oh if I could turn back time, but it probably would have failed anyhow, as I say, I was only doing about 30 mph and everything else ,like the fluids were fine that day., and it just quit and I rolled to a stop.
Blower was replaced no issue there. Changed the fluid and filter. CV axels are easy to replace and I have done that. Haven’t messed with u joints or rear cv joints. Will check evap system
Mine has no problem with accelerating, but when I put my foot down I can hear a strange whistling noise. Also when my a/c is on Low, all I hear is rattling and squeaking other than that it is running better than ever
Great video! I have a 2012 Nissan Rogue. I've had to replace the front CV axle because of a leak. I'm also getting a bad winning noise when I back up and turn the wheel. Sounds like it is in the engine area. Repair guy said it was the AC compressor going bad and it was putting extra tension on the serpentine belt but it is still doing it with the AC off but it is not as loud. Any suggestions?
I have a 2009 Rogue which I bought in 2010. It has about 90k miles on it. I've had issues with 2 things listed. The front axles and the EPA. As it gets older the more problems it gets but don't all older vehicles?
Wow that’s amazing. My transmission went out at 140k. Got rid of the car never buying another Nissan until they get a new transmission. I live in Texas and my transmission would overheat because of lack of cooling
If you hear a whining noise when accelerating, it's most likely the CVT is failing. I had to replace mine at 229K KMS. The shaking, however, could be related to your front CV axles or a simple wheel alignment. Check your inner/outer CV axle boot as it's a common weakness in these vehicles.
Mistake to have bought, i bought the 09 as well. I can't go 50 miles without having to pull over and let it rest..... Not only that, if i didn't pull over it will make me anyway because eventually it starts to decelerate once it decides it doesn't feel like being a reliable vehicle. Mine doesnt like warm or hot weather. Mine doesnt like long distance trips or going uphills. Worst car ever
Wish I had seen this video sooner, not too long ago the boots in mine broke and the grease went everywhere just like shown. Good to see you know your stuff :)
I have a 2016 Nissan Versa Note (116K Miles) and have had a couple of problems just like mentioned in the video! AC fan went out and yes I had to remove the pedals to change it. One of my drive shafts has also spit it's grease out as well. One problem I'm surprised wasn't mentioned is the exhaust heat shielding under the car. I had part of a panel break from the screws and it made an AWEFUL clatter until I fixed it. Maybe that's not a problem on the Rogue.
Yep. Blower motor went out on mine. Now the rubber boots on the front axle are torn. A mechanic is recommending that I replace the axle(s) at a cost of $1,100. No clicking noise from the CV joints. Just torn boots. Should the axle(s) with boots be replaced now? I’m fixing issues to sell the car. It’s a 2008 with 208,000 miles. I’m wanting a second opinion from a pro.
Change the universal joints and also the vire that connects the transmition i think and we got a code for a comunication problem between the transmition and the computer
new noise on my nissan 2012 with 114k only ,,,,,seems to be coming either alternator ? or catalytic converter ? even with a stetoscope the sound carrys and is very difficult to make an accurate diagnostic here ? even with a master tech helping me ? any help will be very much appreciated , thank you for all your vids helping people like me ,
I bought off used lot at 145k miles and immediately issues. Its now at 230k miles. I have experienced that back shield currently, cv front boots, and rattling under car and slow to speed up.
I have bought Nissan's all my life, my Rogue will be my last one. After paying $4,800 for a remanufactured, 12,000-mile warranty CVT transmission and even being charged shop supplies, I'm done with them. I have replaced both front axles, alternator, and the transmission and I've still not made it to 200,000. I bought an 86 Hardbody truck, abused it, 10,000 miles between oil changes, jumped it completely off the ground many times (Hey, I was a kid) and after 325,000 I replaced a pully on the belt system. Well, I did also have to pay when I got mud in the throttle body. The truck had about 5,000 miles on it. I thought it should be covered, they said I was abusing it. I said I was driving it just like the guy was in their commercial! I'll never buy another Nissan nor will I buy anything with a belt-drive transmission.
Update: This video popped up while I was researching the P0011 code that came up yesterday. I now have 205,000 miles and have had 4 of the 5 items listed in the video go bad. My brakes are squeaking, I inspected them and they looked fine, I did not notice if the shield was rubbing, and now I'm sure that's it. Also since my last post, my wife's 2017 Sentra with 28,000 miles got a new CVT transmission, thank God this one was still under warranty. Nissan used to make a great car but now their quality is gone. I also recently bought a 1970 Maverick, this car will be my daily driver. I'll keep the Rogue till the transmission goes out, and the Sentra we are going to sell.
My mother told me that there’s a recall on the Nissan Rogue SUV 🚙. And she is right about it. She is always right about it. Those things they always have multiple problems. Like the air conditioning filter, the battery 🔋 always end being dead 💀. And the airbag implodes. Not to mention it’ll caught on fire 🔥.
It's suspected that a problem with Nissan's cooling system is making the CVT transmission unreasonably sensitive to heat. The temperature of the cars transmission fluid is controlled by a small cooler as opposed to a radiator and it's not properly regulating the temperature of the fluid responsible for lubricating the parts in the transmission. Should a car overheat and go into "fluid protection mode" transmission performance will be reduced and as a result the driver may experience trouble accelerating, vehicle shaking or jerking and or complete failure of the CVT. Could more frequent coolant changes be also the answer?
Yes and No. I have a 2013 Nissan Rogue 108K milles. 1) Change CVT fluid and the 2 filters every 25/30k or once a year. Only if you/ mechanic can check the oil status or it was certainly changed in the past . 2) Add/ replace a new cooler system. I bought it on Amazon, $80 cooler+small radiator (check the CVT temperature before, during and after installation....IT WILL BE A HUGE DIFERENCE. If your CVT transmission doesn't have a significant lose of metal it will work for a long transmission life.
Bought my son a 2011 Rogue, trying to drive it up on tire ramps this past weekend and it would go about half way then no more and the rpms would increase past 1500 I think it was. Is this the sign of a bad transmission? Is it to late to run some Lucus or something similar thru it? Any advice would be appreciated.
Drain the Trans fluid and take the pan off ,clean it up and the magnets in the pan also , get a service kit ..,,,get Amsoil CVT Fluid and that will solve the trans problems . Amsoil Trans CVT Fluid has the best specs ..No other brand can beat it.
If it's already slipping like that changing your fluid won't fix that I know from my own experience with a 2012 nissan rogue I bought brand new from Nissan dealership put in a new trans external cooling fan and trans cooler that'll fix it ....whn a cvt starts free revving and not moving its the transmission
I have a 2008 4 wheel drive Rogue with a broken rear end. Can I just take out the drive shaft, differential, and rear axels to make it a 2 wheel front drive SUV?
Hello 1A Auto: you are correct about the blower motor, I bought my 2012 Rogue SV brand new and in 2021 i had to replace the blower motor due to the noise it made. My rogue was only at 89K Km that time. Now at 93K km, when I accelerate Rpm between 1000-2000 I start hearing short rattle/screeching noise, it does not happen all the time, Could you please tell me what that is and how to fix this ? other than that, I actually really enjoyed driving it in earlier years.
Hey! Just own a 2016 Nissan Rogue. But the front driver side rear shock is bad. Am so AFRAID taking it to the dealer shop to fix and also let them do the servicing for me due to the charges. Please advise me... Is the dealer shop the best place... Thank U
I replaced the blower motor sensor($15) did the pedal removal to get to it. #2 replaced CVT under warrantee since it launched after just a short while. #3 Passenger axle -replaced three times now. Cheap- always blows the outboard boot. Found bad Rear motor mount each time. #4 Windows freeze during winter and cable pops loose. Replace with 2009 window handle internals-problem solved. #5 After 140K miles the front wheel hubs and ABS sensor rust terribly and made nasty rubbing sound. #6 Exhaust heat shields. Had almost all corrode at the connection to the body due to direct fitting aluminum to steel which accelerated aluminum corrosion. Spayed the pin are on car with undercoating and used a 1 1/2 inch fender washer with a rubber washer to isolate the two. #6 brake backing plates. Dang things just rust away. The car is dependable but 1st gen had these issues.
I have a 2010 and I’m at 143000 miles. We just had to fix the radiator, ac and now the catalytic converter needs to be replaced and the gas gauge is inaccurate. I’ve died on the freeway and road 3 times in the last month. We’re looking at getting a new car
We own a 1rst gen and love it. But, time faded and some of these issues presented themselves. But, the biggest issue I have is with the seat sensor. Why the recall for up to 2008 and other newer has same issue but, will not be recall fix is beyond me when it is same issue.
Hi Guys, I have a 2012 Dodge Journey that is burning oil but I don't know where. I have no oil leaks, no oil pooling in my driveway. I don't see any smoke coming out of the exhaust and I have 206,000 kms on the car. It is not uncommon for me to have to put 4 lt of oil in, there would hardly be anything showing on the dip stick. Do you have any thoughts on what may be causing this issue? Thanks Graham Pike
What about ac line puking oil or spark plug tube seals going bad and needing a NEW VALVE COVER BECAUSE THE TUBE SEALS ARE NOT AVAILABLE SEPERATELY and the horn not working, huh, what about those issues.
excellent video and very well explained, I just changed the control arm and pulled the road and front bearings, and now it sounds like it rubs something and makes a screech and when braking too, I will review the Shield thank you very much
+rafael quintero Thank you! We love empowering our customers and showing how to perform DIY auto repairs with our high-quality auto parts. 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I had the same issue too when i replaced the control arms. Found the issue was the control arm was rubbing the brake rotor. I took a grinder and grinded the control arm so it wasnt rubbing the brake rotor anymore.
I have a 2013 Nissa Rogue 107,000 miles and right now idk if I'm tripping but when I first turn on the car and its initially being drove I hear a noise like a knocking noise but it goes away as the car gets warmer.
Sounds like a good make to stay away from, I am told that a re built CVT is around $6000, Honda also use CVT in some models, so look for other makes of vehicles my friends.
Most passenger vehicles have CVTs these days. Nissan’s are made by JATCO and are terribly unreliable. However, CVTs in Toyotas and Hondas are reliable. They make their own for 25 years and have perfected them. Change the transmission fluid as recommended in the manual and they should be fine. I agree about Nissan, however. I had a 2017 Nisssn Sentra. The transmission started failing at 103K and Nissan would not help me since I was past warranty. They lost a future customer forever. I’ll only buy Toyota, Honda, Lexus, or Acura from now on. I love my 2021 Corolla XSE.
I need some guidance please. I have the 2008 Rogue SL and I am experiencing something that no one can seem to help me with. When I am in drive or reverse and my foot is on the brake like waiting at a stoplight, I have the AC on or heat depending on the time of year. When the compressor kicks on the RPM's drop so low that the car shakes like it is trying to regain the RPM's. The car has shut off once, but mostly it just shakes and gets the RPM's back up at least until the compressor kicks on again and repeat. It does NOT do it if I put the car into neutral OR stop it against a curb and still leave it in drive. Only if the AC or heat is on and the car in in drive or reverse with my foot on the brake? I tried to clean the Throttle body as I saw a TH-cam video with my same exact symptoms, but it did not fix it? Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you!
I have a 2013. My Nissan Rogue started making noise or sounds clunky and the acceleration is slow. I’m nervous what that could mean.. Also my mileage is kinda low for a 2013 it’s at around 95000
+Jelena We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
how much for a axle repair work? can you tighten the axle instead of having to replace it. My mechanic says only solution once the axle starts making clunking noise is to replace it - is that true???
I have 2009 Nissan Rogue and have atleast 3 first problems. I spent about $1800 to replace Frontend wheel bearing, shafts, Tie rod end etc. But still couldn't fix the blower motor noise/ faulty fan as it is expensive to do it. I have survive with it.
Just bought a 2018 SL model, and after watching this video and reading the comments. I think I'm going to put it up for sale or trade it in. Can't deal with the headache smh
Greetings from Armenia! Thank you very much for the video! It was interesting and Clever ! I own a 2008 rogue and experienced some of the problems you pointed out! I liked the video and subscribed !
+Arthur KH Thanks for checking us out and the support, we appreciate it! You can check out the other videos we have for this vehicle here: 1aau.to/m/video-library-c
I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue 118k miles. Right after I got it the rear differential went out. Too expensive to fix. So I took it out. Drove fine for a few years. Now the abs wheel sensors are going crazy. Makes a grinding noise. Nissan says it’s the module. We replace it and the sensors. Still grinding. Works fine with sensors unplugged. But then all the panel lights are on and you can’t get it inspected. No one knows what’s wrong for 3 yrs and 5 mechanics. It’s been a mess.
I also have an 08 rogue. When I use my brakes they squeak even after new pads. And now my Awd, brake, ps, vdc and the skid and abs lights all come on at the same time. Plus my gas gauge dont read right at all until I hit around a 1/4 tank. Code pulled says sensor. And I pull a code for catalyst too. I'm lost as for the deal wit the dash lights, but the 2 codes pulled not a big deal as far as knowing the problem areas to check. Will check out the module tho for the dash lights issue
HI, my 2008 Rogue has 200k miles. I had some issues whit the transmission the key is use the Original fluid and change every 25k miles, if you use any other brand you will have problems with overheating, I also put a bigger transmission cooler and runs perfect.
+William Prieto We offer the transmission oil cooler for the 2013 Nissan Rouge under part number 1ATRL00115. You can find this at www.1aaauto.com. Thank you!
Thank you for your wonderful video on Rogue. I have 2013 Rogue which have a problem restarting when stopover for less than 25 mins. It crank but will not start. It will only start only resting for more than 30 mins, Every morning start fine. After each shut down, it will restart after 30 mins or more without fail. What do you think could be the problem? I have replace the IPDM but problem remains.
Little late on this comment I Had the same problem as you no codes were showing up either.. I Check the fuel pressure and it end up being the fuel pump...replace the fuel pump and everything is back to normal ..
PLEASE HELP. I installed new speakers on 2013 nissan rogue(completely base model) On the front doors the back are stock speakers. The radio lasted for maybe 20 mins or so and it went completely deaf no sound nothing but i have power. The volume works and everything but no sound. Please help. I installed a head unit and it worked for a minute but then went off again. I just want to fix it.
My acceleration is a bit off but deceleration is no problem. Thanks for letting me know that may be a transmission problem. The axles were dmg and i got them replaced.

It sounds like the transmission is shot. Sorry. But if you have under 110,000 miles you might get the dealer to put a new one in for less because of the lawsuit. I paid half price in my 2010 Nissan Rogue
Thank you so much!!!! I was hearing a noise for so long, it was the backing shields! Im going to take a look at them first thing tomorrow morning. Thank you again, god bless you, I love you

I think my crack position sensor but I wanna make sure. It sometimes starts but sometimes doesn't an I don't have a check engine light an sometimes I have to spray starter fluid to have it start but not all the time an I don't believe it's the fuel pump any way I could get some help ??

My 2013 Rouge is rattling I've had 4 mechanics look at I've had motor mounts replaced still rattling they can't give me answers. I only hear the rattle when I barely tap the gas and im going like under 30 miles. Help please!!!
If you are getting a horrible rattle in a 2008-2014 Rogue look up NTB14-018 Technical Service Bulletin. You can fix it for $1 with a big hose clamp, or go to the dealer where they will lie to you and estimate like $1000 in exhaust work. That's what they quoted me, I had to point them at the TSB. I find it hard to believe they didn't know about it
Oh and the reason it happens at certain speeds is it is caused by engine vibration shaking the exhaust and making the loose heat shield rattle. You changed the motor mounts trying to stop the shaking but there is a certain amount of free play in good motor mounts and your problem remained. So I'm guessing this loose shield is your issue. You might even hear it by going under the car with a rubber mallet and banging rapidly (not too hard) on the exhaust pipe.
Thank you so much for the information. My Nissan 2008 is not accelerating quickly I have locked of power it takes a few seconds to accelerate. Because of your great video now I know that the Crankshaft Position Sensor and probably the transmission are bad.
I think most transmission problems of these happen around 180,000 miles. I know of 2 owners of Rogues, transmissions went out at this mileage. I owned a 91 Maxima, transmission was shot at 110,000 miles.
When you look inside a transmission and see all those intricate and complicated parts it's no wonder they fail after a while. It's too bad they have to make them that way.

i have a 2011 Rogue with 130,000 miles and so far i have had none of the problems mentioned in this video, Thank God

My fiancee has a 2009 Nissan rogue that we bought from my parents who bought it new. Since we have owned it, I've had to replace CV axels, the drive shaft, and I think I changed the gas cap for an evap issue.
I’ve been driving mine for 2 years..still haven’t taken a trip to the mechanic! 2012 Nissan Rouge Mileage:160,000 when I got it
I just bought a 2013 last week, it’s got 84,000, I think I might need a fuel filter change cause it’s seems sluggish but I do really like it
Had my 2011 Rogue since it came out. I am know experiencing 3 of these issues but only after 10 years of this car being good to me.
My girls car sounds like absolute shit... I'm gonna go try this.
as owner of one of these, I can confirm at least 3 out of the ones mentioned. the major one is always the CVT, which can be 'solved' by installing an external CVT cooling system, around $500 USD, overall, good SUV.
I'd like to find one cheaper and hook it up.....my c.v.t. failed at 125,000...cost $4500 to replace with one of those jenco transmissions...they all come from that company- its a total scam. Clean profit for the tranny shops.
What year do u got? I just bought a 2013 last week
@@woozy607 buying one next week now i am worried

+Tom Shields Thanks for the feedback!
My sister has this car. Transmission blew out during first year. Nissan fixed it for free and she had a courtesy car for 6 months! Trans being going strong for 10 years, surprisingly. Cv axles just teared recently
+Carlos Fuentes Thanks for checking us out!
1st world problems.. lol I haven't had working AC in my last 3 cars
If you are getting a horrible rattle in a 2008-2014 Rogue look up NTB14-018 Technical Service Bulletin. You can fix it for $1 with a big hose clamp, or go to the dealer where they will lie to you and estimate like $1000 in exhaust work.
Niiiice!
I love these "Top 5" videos.

Currently experienced 2 of these problems!!! Axles replaced and now I need a blower motor!!!
Lol I expressed both those and also has to get a new transmission 🤦🏾♂️
I have a 2012 nissan rogue I have put on it 94k miles and is being grate no problem at all. I did a road trip over 1000 miles back and forward and didn't have problem
I've had my rogue for four years and experience three issues out of the five replace the blower motor need to change the transmission fluid and definitely the front right boot is leaking thank you for the video
+G.MICHAEL Thanks for the feedback!
Like new!
+Jay Me Thanks for the feedback!
Did you use Nissan CVT fluid?
Also..
6. Lower control arms
7. MAF sensor
8. Heat shields (causes rattling noise)
9. OEM drive belts go bad super quick
10. Inner & outer tie rods. But if you're unlucky...
11. Rack and pinion
12. Steering shaft
13. Bose subwoofer (in spare if you have bose system)
Will the rust be a issue in Massachusetts. I have undercoat. Should I spray anything in particular
Good job on the way you did the gas cap inspection👍🏻👍🏻
Ghosn should be in jail for bringing Jatco CVTs to nearly all Nissans. Such junk
Yup, it's ridiculous that Infiniti is using it in their SUVs too
My rouge just hit 290k miles. Only thing iv had a problem with is front and rear wheel bearings
how did you maintain your car?
Wow that’s amazing. My transmission went out at 140k. Got rid of the car never buying another Nissan until they get a new transmission. I live in Texas and my transmission would overheat because of lack of cooling
My 13 Rogue has 340,000km on it. Excellent cars!
They’re great but that damn cvt trashes it. A simple bulletproof 6speed auto would’ve been much better
Thanks man I just watched this again for the second time and I was able to fix my noise just by screwing the shields.
Just bought a 2009 and have a slight shake. I’ll get the transmission looked at soon. Thanks for the video!!
@@ilianalopez6664 literally described the same problem i have with my 09 rogue as well
@@ilianalopez6664 Could be overheating, check your drive belt if its still there or it could be a faulty water pump.

Watching this video today to check out a pre owned 2011 SV tomorrow! Finger crossed 🤞🤞
I’ll be looking and listening for these top 5! Thanks 1A Auto
Deep sigh , Nissan Rogue 2012 --I had 3 of the top 5 plus the bonus one! I had to replace transmission at 115K .Well done video!!
Change the universal joints and also the vire that connects the transmition i think and we got a code for a comunication problem between the transmition and the computer
Whats the name of the part he rested his hand on at 4:45?
Im having issues with it chirping. We put a different serpentine belt and it stopped for awhile and now its back. Constantly dealing with it.
Motor door actuators they strip over time because parts inside are made of plastic, seen it happen on quite a few of them..it's very common.
Where is the headlight fuses for 2017 rogue? Thank you
new noise on my nissan 2012 with 114k only ,,,,,seems to be coming either alternator ? or catalytic converter ? even with a stetoscope the sound carrys and is very difficult to make an accurate diagnostic here ? even with a master tech helping me ? any help will be very much appreciated , thank you for all your vids helping people like me ,
I bought off used lot at 145k miles and immediately issues.
Thanks for the tutorial excellent presentation,👍👍.

Bought my son a 2011 Rogue, trying to drive it up on tire ramps this past weekend and it would go about half way then no more and the rpms would increase past 1500 I think it was.

I have a 2013 Nissa Rogue 107,000 miles and right now idk if I'm tripping but when I first turn on the car and its initially being drove I hear a noise like a knocking noise but it goes away as the car gets warmer.
Does the noise get louder when u turn left or right?? Could b your wheel bearing, or cv joint.
$3600 to replace CVT.
Also my mileage is kinda low for a 2013 it’s at around 95000

how much for a axle repair work? can you tighten the axle instead of having to replace it. My mechanic says only solution once the axle starts making clunking noise is to replace it - is that true???

I got a rebuilt differential for 1800

PLEASE HELP. I installed new speakers on 2013 nissan rogue(completely base model) On the front doors the back are stock speakers. The radio lasted for maybe 20 mins or so and it went completely deaf no sound nothing but i have power. The volume works and everything but no sound. Please help. I installed a head unit and it worked for a minute but then went off again. I just want to fix it.
My acceleration is a bit off but deceleration is no problem. Thanks for letting me know that may be a transmission problem. The axles were dmg and i got them replaced.
+Heat Productions Official Thanks for the feedback!
@@1AAuto i would like to know if there was a video done to inform how the cvt for the rogue could be properly maintained

Excellent video straight to the point thank you
Mine has those internal issues it won't go forward or reverse and no power... how do I fix it plz

But after changing the bearings, when I go slowly, it is suddenly heard as if the tires were tied, and the squeak is heard, why is it?
Could you do one about the 2nd generation cx-9?
Hi Adam! We will make sure to pass along your recommendation to our video studio!
The upper and lower bushing too
Thank you so much for the information. My Nissan 2008 is not accelerating quickly I have locked of power it takes a few seconds to accelerate. Because of your great video now I know that the Crankshaft Position Sensor and probably the transmission are bad.

did u fix it
I think most transmission problems of these happen around 180,000 miles. I know of 2 owners of Rogues, transmissions went out at this mileage. I owned a 91 Maxima, transmission was shot at 110,000 miles.
Mine is at 190k and I’m getting a few problems Ima shop for a new car these cars seem like it’s gonna take a crap anytime now
When you look inside a transmission and see all those intricate and complicated parts it's no wonder they fail after a while. It's too bad they have to make them that way.
Hello, I have a Nissan Rougue and was I have a problem with AWD Lock activating on and off while I’m driving! Any tips?
