This is literally second to the best finale we had in Death Battle so far, and the fact that they combined all animation styles (hand-drawn, sprites, and 3D) for this fight was like the best way to celebrate their 10 year anniversary season.
This episode was a canon event, and I mean that in the best way possible. Not only was it amazing, but Saitama's characterization near the end with him finally finding an opponent he can fight after a single punch in the form of Popeye was so well-recieved that I believe it allowed Death Battle to continie doing more heartwarming and bittersweet character moments like this going forward.

If you look at the sides, you can see the first hit between them completely destroyed the side shops on that street. I like to think that one of those shops was Saitama's favorite, and that's why he chose to fight to the death.
What a coincidence, I was just looking up One Punch Man and then this showed up. This was honestly the BEST way to cap off S8. Both in terms of animation Fight Scenes and Characterization for Saitama and Popeye.

As soon as you introduce cartoony "reality altering" elements into a fight against someone who can't, it's a guaranteed win. Fun animation to watch overall.
