Wow. The difference between Western/American culture & Indian culture is highlighted in this report. In U.S. reporting this type of situation would have been full of derision and incredulity.
The procession and giving away publicly is buying one way ticket. If I do it secretly my mind will continue to play the game…. Just as and when a small out of comfort situation arises I would think of returning to regular life, and if I do then again think of renunciation, life becomes hell instead of focusing my mind and energies on the higher goal.

If you listen to your inner voice before making a decision that decision can never go wrong. Jainism is beautiful but then, any belief system taken to the extreme (like starving oneself to death) is questionable. Wishing this young couple all the very best......it takes resolute courage to do what they doing.
Starving oneself to death might sound a bit weird at first but it has many beliefs rooted in it. We may find it wrong but we can't come to an conclusion without any right knowledge about it.
Jainism is indeed a tough religion. Imagine having to give up your inheritance, your loved ones, the things you admire, all for a tougher life with no chains to the modern world. Sounds liberating in my judgement, but giving up all of it is too much for me , personally.
Being a monk is not easy being a jain monk is extremely uneasy. Throw youre relationship away throw your emotional dependencies away Create a show while throwing away each and every worldly and materialist things you ever earned to common public just to ensure that you're never going back to family life or normal life away . And then trying to avoid killing living beings even a micro level . Its like dying while you're still alive . A mere thought of it can shake you're belief system .

All those people who are saying these couple did a showoff - i request all of them do they have balls or guts to do the same show off if so please do the same show off what these couple did - i respect at least they did something and they are taking path of monkhood ..

I am Buddhist and my Lord Buddha was born in India. The life before Prince Siddhartha,, Lord Buddha was born as King who renounced the wealth and gave it to the poor just like these noble people and attained monkhood. I saw lord Buddha's previous life through them and it brought tears to my eyes.

Hindus fully supports Jains, because we are ONE.

Let's not judge book by its cover. One thing that is undeniable - renunciation when you have abundance is an act par excellence. Practiced in Bharat since times immemorial, it is modern western thinking that finds it weird. But that is what Western thinking is superficial and steeply materialistic
Today's Jainism is highly different from it was 2500 yrs ago.

If people in military industrial complex held the same belief, we wouldn't have any wars today.
lol what?
Humans are of different beliefs. One believe in material comfort and another in giving up. That is why AI models are hard in anticipating human decision
And india will again be subjugated
Such belief will never be seen in people who is living in Abrahamic idelogy
If Americans and Europeans accept Jainism, may be there will be no world wars?
Good wishes in admiration to all Jain world-renouncers.
Then you do it too bro.
Very tough decision because the rich man in the bible that even met Jesus himself couldn't give his riches away!
The couples are not Christians but they are jains.
Who was this person?
Jains are roaming the eorld even gefore the Son of God was born. There'sca good cgance they might have met. About the rich man, bibke is full of negativity with Jesus showing them pure light, if one was skeptixal of him diesn't nean he doubted God or its messenger.

@munmunsarkar1726 I know they are not. But Jesus told that man to give all up to poor and follow him so that he can get in heaven but the guy refused. Looks like we Christians got more to learn.
I love this story!
I like Jainism - it's very impressive.
I had Jain neighbors who didn't take down a huge beehive in their window - rather kept the glass closed for a long time, and co-existed with the hive.

This is not only one couple sacred their wealth for their faith. We see this happens all the time.
Respect to the people who renounce
This is Varshidan. Instead of criticizing, learn or get inspired from it and start donating. If you can’t, please don’t criticize without knowing about its reason, significance or importance.
People commenting on it is useless. It’s their life their money. They can what ever F they want. they are not looting or hurting anyone for earning money. They are doing what’s considered legal.
Wow. The difference between Western/American culture & Indian culture is highlighted in this report. In U.S. reporting this type of situation would have been full of derision and incredulity.
Not really.
Good subject mostly not covered elsewhere. Thank you.
Great couple. No words to describe.
Good analysis
Right
Very true
Janism peaceful religion 🥰🥰🥰
Palki, It is a shame , people do not understand . What faith is .
Its delusion which you are calling faith.
I salute them. They are lion hearted. It takes huge guts to do this. I wish I also would be able to do this. May god bless them. May god bless them all
While Islam gives the greed of material comforts and hoors in heaven to convince believers to follow its path, Dharmic faiths like Jainism and Buddhism preach the true meaning of liberation from worldly desires to lead a spiritually fulfilling life.
Buddhism only not Jainism. There is a reason why Buddhism spread to entire asia whereas Jain population completely declined.
That's a 'Strawman'. Search up worlds most charitable religion and you will find your answer. Seriously why are you guys always obsessed with Islam 😂
very matured interpretation palki... well done...

Jainism has four vows that guide us jains: always speak the truth, do not steal, show sexual restraint, and do not become attached to worldly things..

Non violence is a hoax. Its a submissive attitude towards the evil doer and completely irrational.
Jainism we do not have gods, we have tirthankar.
TIRTHANKARAS are the supreme preachers of dharma, who have conquered saṃsāra (WORLD) on their own and made a path for others to follow. After understanding the true nature of the self or soul, the Tīrthaṅkara attains mokha/keval gyan.
We jain disciples pray to tirtharas to thank them for teaching discipline and right path to life.

They are lucky their donation did not cause stampede or they would have spent their monkhood in seperate jails.
Having said that I commend their decision to denounce worldly pleasures, its tough decision even tougher to follow through. May they achieve their goals through this long and treacherous journey.
As a Muslim and understanding the meaning of freedom I can agree with the idea somehow. This material world is a prison and it takes a lot to see that, in order to be free one must not be attached to any material things.
All the love and respect to such Jains who being in minority are not only good with money matters but also great when it comes to their faith on their enlightened forefathers...Wishing you ALL THE BEST

Ikru-kx7pd if it's good then should everyone do it?? Do you recommend for everyone to become sanyasi? Being born in aristocratic family is good? Those born in poor family are bad?
@@mansooralt Only a handful are meant for it. It's all about the state of one's souls's evolution. In other words, it's not meant for 99.99% of the population. This is precisely why the Buddha is revered.

CHARITY is Great 👍 SHOWUP is NOT ! There are millions of Poor Indians, who need Help & it would have done Better Way, than Standing High Tall & Throwing Down to Poor & Displaying Internationally. Best Charity is that- When your Left Hand Don't Know When Your Right Hand Did CHARITY❤
This act is one of the rituals n is called ' VARSI DAAN 'when someone is going to become a jain sadhu. It is a symbol of giving up worldly attractions. Like any other religious rituals of any religion, this is just a ritual. Nothing to do with showing off, if you check properly, you will come to know, it's not their whole wealth they gave up like this, they would have done charity of it at proper needed places.
Giving up Worldly attractions while advertising on truck and throwing products on the crowd huh?? 😊
Salute to my Jain Brothers and Sisters, as this is too tough❤
If you listen to your inner voice before making a decision that decision can never go wrong. Jainism is beautiful but then, any belief system taken to the extreme (like starving oneself to death) is questionable. Wishing this young couple all the very best......it takes resolute courage to do what they doing.
Even Aghori babas do the same, they give up everything.
Starving oneself to death might sound a bit weird at first but it has many beliefs rooted in it. We may find it wrong but we can't come to an conclusion without any right knowledge about it.
What a great community, It's their money they can do what they want with it
Read the book "If truth be Told, A Monk's Memoir" ..You will Not find their action 'Stupid'.
A lots of respect to Jain community 🙏🏻🙏🏻 There's a lot to learn from them🙏🏻
Thank you for explaining this. Very enlightening
Throw youre relationship away throw your emotional dependencies away
Create a show while throwing away each and every worldly and materialist things you ever earned to common public just to ensure that you're never going back to family life or normal life away .
And then trying to avoid killing living beings even a micro level .
Its like dying while you're still alive .
A mere thought of it can shake you're belief system .
That one of the reason why Jainism is so low in population today.
I respect this community. They are too good as human beings. They never harm anyone.
They are wealthy ; so this means they are not stupid. They must have made the decision with rigorous investigation and experience.
LOL You've not met a lot of wealthy people have you? Especially the 2 generations...
Most monks in Jain come from wealthy family but there's no relation to being wealthy. It comes from traditions and teachings.
This is common in jain community. There are a lot rich jains became monks.

Its a family decision why should others be judging what someone has to do with their life. The purity, the spirituality, the peace the family will experience should be priceless. Totally respect the family's decision.
To renounce modern life and become sanyasi, one must have lived a life.
