    I am very impressed so far. I've watched through Lesson 4. I'm a watercolor artist working on expanding to be able to make my own prints and cards. I purchased an Epson 8550 but have been unable to figure out how to use all the aspects of PS. I've watched others videos and then discovered yours. It was like the sun came out from behind the clouds. I watch and take multiple notes. I refer it to being back in college...lol Thank you much for taking the time to put all this wonderful information out there for all of us.

    THese are amazing videos. Very clear. As a teacher myself, I'm impressed by terry's ability to just focus on what is most immediately relevant so we don't get bogged down in detail that could feel overwhelming. He gives just the right amount of information. And he often summarizes what he said after giving lot of detail. He has clearly thought through his lesson plans carefully! BRAVO!

    Thanks so much for all these easy to understand videos! I've been binge-watching and taking notes. I used to handcolor black and white photos as a professional photographer and now I am scanning the old negs and trying to figure out how to handcolor them in Photoshop so they can be reproduced. I believe I'll have the skills to handcolor images once I learn more from you about masks and layers. Can't wait to get there!

    Thank you, Terry, as someone who only tingers with Photoshop, mostly using Lightroom finding these videos both interesting, well-paced, and learning new stuff. For example the "Colour Balance" tool, how did you pull that tool up, I assume a keyboard command. Have a good day

    • @tv510

      Hi Tom, thanks for watching. I have really embraced shortcuts. So much so, I find I use them and don't even think about it. I do plan to do a whole episode on shortcuts, once we get the basics out of the way. Until then, the keyboard shortcut for Color Balance is Mac: CMD B and for the PC it's CNTL B Take care.

      Yes, I'm going to do a video in the series about shortcuts, like (MAC) Command B or (PC) Control B for color balance. Not all the shortcuts are intuitive, but you will learn all the important ones as you go. Thanks for watching.

    I do have a question- when you’re playing with the windows selections (about 8:30ish) and have multiple windows selected, how are you able to add multiple gradients on one single layer like that? PLEASE help! Thank you!
    EDIT: I figured it out. It was because my gradient was set to gradient instead of classic gradient!

    I have been dreading and avoiding learning Photoshop because of how daunting it is. I have tried several other videos attempting to get familiar with the program with no success. You are explaining every step so clearly, that I am finally understanding the program and how to use it!
    I do have one question. If I missed this in the first video, I apologize. When you are in Lightroom and go to the edit in photoshop and that box pops up to ask if you want to edit the original or with Lightroom edits, which one should you be using? In another video I was watching, it said the best way to edit is to use the original photo without any Lightroom edits. If I edit an original photo with no edits in Photoshop then bring it back into Lightroom, because of the type of file it becomes, I will not have all the tools available to edit the photo in Lightroom. (ex. jpeg file vs raw file)
    What is the correct process for that?

    • @tv510
      @tv510  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Melissa, for me, I usually always edit with Lightroom edits. I typically change exposure and sometimes color, shadow detail ect. I don't see why I would want to do that all over again. Just my take.

    What about selecting something with very complicated edges…like grass leafs or cutting out a pine tree with all the needles?

    • @tv510

      ....Leaves, grass, hair and that sort of thing? Completely different way to make those types of selections. Not for beginners, but I will visit the one day as it is important skill to learn.

    HI Terry - when you went back into photoshop and you found all the panels missing you clicked something to restore it - looked really easy but I cant catch what you did - can you just add a note to explain please , that would be really helpful

    • @tv510
      @tv510  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sure. The way to get your background and it looking normal in Photoshop, is to just click the Photoshop app icon. On the Mac, all my app icons are across the bottom in what is called the "dock". If you just click the Photoshop icon it will bring it all back. I hope that helps.

    How did you bring up the color balance bar? 😝

    • @tv510
      @tv510  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are a couple of ways. Simply by pressing CMD B (mac) or CNTL B for the PC. The other way is making an adjustment layer. If you activate an adjustment layer, your color balance dialog box will come up in the Properties window. I hope that helps.
