    I've been using Photoshop (badly) since 1993 and sure wish I had your excellent instructional videos back then! Looking forward to the rest of your series. I will also add that your teaching style is excellent, clear and just the right pace. Other TH-camrs talk so fast I need to cut the playback speed in half.

    Been using PS for about 2yrs getting the hang of it with the help of CC like yourself, if you have learned anything new from Terry from watching this, it's worth a thumbs up and subscribe so it helps his channel, and it also helps others as the algorithm lets other users see his content. Thanks Terry for a nice guide to getting PS started the easy way. Liked & Subscribed

    I have been slowly learning (and using) Photoshop for a couple years and I learned a number of things from this #1 video that I didn’t know! I just retired (yesterday!) and I plan on working my way through the entire series in the next couple days! I actually started with the layers lesson (A++) and now I’m committed to make it through the series. Fantastic teaching skills and information!!

      Congratulations on the retirement. This program is well worth learning, though I would set aside some time do a little practice after each video, that is the best way to learn. Welcome to Photoshop!

    Thank you so much for making this easy to understand video. I haven't used Photoshop since the early 2000's and have forgotten so much. I'm now getting back into image making after all these years and into Photoshop 2024. So much has changed since then and your video series is just what I need to reacquaint myself with this amazing program. Well done!

    • @tv510
      @tv510  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is called the Contextual Task Bar. You can find it at the bottom of the menu item Windows. Go to Menu Windows scroll to the bottom and turn it off or on right there. Thanks for watching.

    Great session except for you're working on a MAC and those of us on a PC some of the controls or options are located under different headings. It would be helpful to know where they are on a PC. Saves a lot of time searching for the correct items. Thanks

    I'm lost even starting as my edition of PS and LightRoom are not like what you are using. Also on my own I got lost trying to save the linear gradient I used on a practice photo. Any thoughts? Thank you.

      If you are paying the monthly $10. Fee per month for the Adobe Photographer’s package, you can upgrade for free. That’s what I would do. Please check before you upgrade that your computer can handle the newest version of Photoshop just to be sure.
      Otherwise, if you are working on a very old non- subscription version, you’re missing out on a LOT of new features.

      I have the 2024 version of PS and Lightroom but they don't look anything like your screens. Your video mentioned starting using Lightroom and moving to PS. But mine does not look like what you're working with.

      So I found Lightroom Classics and your video but I don't have all those gadgets to plug in so I cannot follow you, again.I got my photos from Desktop but need to see where I go from there. This is getting out of control from the get go.

    Hi Terry
    Maybe i missed something, but when I load up PS i don't have the image as a tab as you do. how can i get that?

    • @tv510
      @tv510  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Gustav, If you are wondering how to set your workspace so that you don't have your windows in tabs, go to preferences (settings) > workspace > uncheck Open documents as Tabs. If this is not what you are looking for, send me an email with a time marker from the video and I can answer you that way by sending you a screen shot of my set up (I can't do screen grabs inside comments here.) Good luck!

    Hello Terry:
    I am having a problem with this tutorial. I am thinking that this is an Adobe problem, I use a desktop PC, Windows 11, 32Gb RAM. According to the Creative Cloud my Photoshop is up to date (V25.6.0) as is my Lightroom Classic (V13.2). When I follow accessing Photoshop by way of Lightroom I hit a brick wall. The option I get is 'Open in Photoshop 2023'; not 2024. When Photoshop opens up it looks quite a bit different, doen't say 2024 at the top for example. I uninistalled Lightroom Classic and reinstalled it thinking/hoping it would clear the problem. No luck. Looking for any suggestions.
    Cheers,
    Will

    • @tv510
      @tv510  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Will, I'm always happy to answer questions, and this one in particular, because it's one I know. In Lightroom Preferences go to the External Editing Tab. You have a choice as to which version of Photoshop you want to edit in. Simply choose the version you like from the pull down menu. On the section down from that, you can add a second option for something else or even Photoshop Beta. Good luck!

    Hey Terry. I installed Ps, but all of the dropdown options in my toolbar are locked. It looks like it's some kind of tutorial thing where they expect you to watch videos before you can gradually unlock each feature. Do you know how to disable that, so that I can follow along with your course instead?

    • @tv510
      @tv510  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Bruce, try unchecking the "Show Tooltips" button. Remember to click OK to confirm. See if that helps.

      @@tv510 that made the videos disappear, but I still can't use the dropdown to select one of the tools in the group. I'm guessing it's because I said I had zero experience with Adobe Ps, so they dumbed it down for me. Maybe I'll reinstall and claim to be an expert.

    • @BruceWayne15325
