That's a really good point about the pickups and character!!! I've also been watching the Westcreek stuff for the last year or so. I'm gonna buy a purple sparkle Revenge now 🤣😂
The same pickup in a Les Paul Standard and a Strat will have two very different tones. You can come to your own conclusions why but unless you have multiple of the same style of guitar, your comment about them all sounding the same isn't quite fully true.
@@ItFigures89pretty sure he's talking about changing pickups of the same type. A set of $200 humbuckers isn't going to change the tone enough but folks will do it because expensive sounds better right? Not even.

@@JamieLynnMorris That is very interesting but along those same lines I had played a Baby Taylor then switched to a Little Martin but the acoustic-electric that I play the most and is my go to acoustic electric is believe it or not a Yamaha APXT2 3/4 scale guitar thin line that I got for around $200 dollars. Cerberus is probably the perfect name for a metal guitar. It's the name of the three-headed dog that guards the entrance to Hades (the land of the dead not the God) in Greek mythology. Doesn't get much more metal than that. But it's definitely an awesome guitar.
I remember Cerberus from Jason & The Argonauts. I love that movie, and Greek Mythology. We had a class on it in high school. Read Clash of the Titans in it's entirety the night before our SciFi Club went to the movie premiere. Thanks for bringing back some great memories! 😊
Glad you got that exact color scheme Richard, see the middle part of a tomato is called the columella. Which is what is displayed in between the pickups. Don't get any other thoughts. Love the transition from Neil Young to Quiet Riot, great guitar and great playing as usual!
This is your first Westcreek? I got the Revenge, and zi absolutely love it! I've always wanted an Explorer, so a few months ago, I bought an Epiphone Explorer from Sweetwater and I had it plecked, setup and everything. When I got it, the frets were nice, but the intonation was out. They had the low E string saddle dimed so it couldn't go no further, and one of the tuers were broken. Ive dealt with Sweetwater for years, and I couldn't believe they would send me something like that. I tried playing it, and it just felt like cheap junk. The Probuckers were muddy and soulless. I promptly sent it back, and I decided to look for an off brand one, and I came upon Westcreek. When I first got the Revenge it was setup perfectly, and the thing feels solid! It's got the ball end frets, and the real rosewood fingerboard is beautiful! The pickups are really decent as well. The only thing that's not so great are the tuners, but I was gonna change them to locking ones anyway. For $200 it beats the crap out of the almost $700 Epi. I'm pretty much a Strat guy, but I always liked the shape of an Explorer. I reach for this guitar almost exclusively now. I thought I would get through the "honeymoon phase" and go back to my Strats and Tele, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying it. It's got a thicker neck on it, but it fits my yand like a glove, and I actually love the shorter 24.75' scale. It's way easier to bend the strings and play. I'd like to have a Strat with that scale length. Anyway, rock on Shredmaster and enjoy the Westcreek. Don't be too harsh on Metal Dude.

@@thebaldshredder Oh wow! That is indeed wonderful news! I’m glad to hear that Westcreek is upgrading their specs!
