I like how your reviews have evolved. Often putting a meter on the pickups is overlooked. Peeps just plug and play and be like, YEAH!!! Powerful pickups or the opposite. Knowing the OHM resistance is a really good way of pinpointing how it will probably sound though a personal setup. As you well know, everyone has a different amp, cord, pedal setup and so on. A while back I asked about the settings you used. You actually made a video about what your "secret sauce" was. You ran with Blackstar I think and no pedal board back then I think. I run a couple different amps. Marshall full stack with a Line 6-5 head and a Crate vintage 30 with your recommended tank-g pedal. Knowing the pickups impedance ultimately tells a person the limits of expectations for the Geeter... Great video again man. Perple isnt really my personal choice but cool nonetheless.

This guitar is absolutely worth it! I bought the White one a couple of months ago, and it was perfectly set up out of the box! The action was low without string buzz, or choking out. The only thing that really is crap about them is the tuners. They suck! I plan on changing them to locking. The pickups.are very good, but I'm gonna eventually put some Seymour's into it. The frets are flawless, and it's got full support zed pots and shielding. I'm a Strat guy through and through, but I always wanted an Explorer. I had bought one of the "inspired by Gibson" Explorers, and had it plecked. That thing was so cheap feeling! Although the frets were good, the intonation was way off, one of the tuners was f*cked, and the Probuckers were muddy as hell, especially the neck. I couldn't get any good sound out of it. I promptly sent it back and came across the Revenge and decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did! I'm a Strat guy through and through, but this is the guitar I reach for the most, and I've got a couple of killer Strats. I also usually don't rave about guitars, but I wanted to express how good this is, especially for $200! I would absolutely recommend it. Thank you....thank you very much, mama!

The Revenge is an amazing deal when you compare it to the Epiphone Purple Sparkle Explorer ($649 zZounds) and Extura Prophecy Purple Tiger ($899 Guitar Center).
Love your intros Dave esp with your razor sharp taste but Skully is absolutely killing you with those intro riffs.. the two purples are perfect for for this style .. nice 1999 ditty, im surprised you still remember it and Skully says Ditto on that ditty and gives it 2 🦴🦴 up just for remembering it.
I have mine on order right now, was def concerned about the tuners & the flimsy-ness of the headstock as the cerebrus neck bends the strings outta tune with simple thumb pressure. All in all tho, this will be my first guitar since my daughter was born & losing my gear to tough times. I will foreveer miss my Dean Dime lightning Razorback & Gibson Les Paul but, starting from scratch all over again? Doesn't seem like a bad step to take. Looking forward to getting mine, clean / polish / re-stringing, and we will see if I need to upgrade to locking tuners. Great video, you earned my sub
Try and manage your angerment managability 😉 They are a good guitar for the money and I always wanted an EXplorer shaped guitar - I just put locking tuners on my purple peril and checked the set-up and it's very good. Not for sale on account of how little money you'd get sold on but it's still a decent playing guitar. Recommended if you want an affordable explorer style guitar folks.
That's a tricky one..May do a comparison video in the future..they are very similar..I would probably go with the newer model firefly..like the HB fflx that I just did a Video on..Excellent Guitar
Been beating on one over a year, tuners haven’t given me issues. Pickups were really microphonic, not really an issue swapped em out though. Bridge barely gets it intonated. Some fret ends have paper gaps under them but seem tight, no buzz. Been really happy with it.
This is another guitar on my list. I really wish they offered the purple with all gold hardware I have a Jay Turser Warlord purple with gold! On of my favorite combinations is a quilt top and gold hardware you don't see that very often. I would at least swap out the knobs with speed knobs I just like them the better and I customize my speed knobs by cutting a grove in them about an1/8" from the top and adding a rubber o-ring for better grip.

I'm about 3 years in (in my late 60s) and right now working to learn to play blues...kind of my direction to learn, what guitar you think is the best for me ...I got four that you reviewed, but don't know about this explorer model. Any blues players use them?
Personally after playing both I would go firefly..tuners seem to hold tune a bit better and the bridge pickup is a bit hotter..not sure of anyone playing blues guitar on them but I'm sure it can be done 😎
I just Bought a Dean Vendetta 3.0 with tribal inleys but its Pinkburst flip flop paint Red to pink to purple , I like that guitar might have to snag one them myself
It's really worth it just for the looks alone if it's not got the best pick ups or tuners or whatever you can change it out at a cheap price if you want and WOW that's a really good bargain for a guitar like that I will probably no doubt be getting one...
very nice guitar for the price, if youre budget is a bit higher and youre looking for a high end guitar that looks like this, the Schecter E1 FR special edition is beautiful and very similar
I have that same one and it plays like a thousand dollar or more, guitar. I'm a rookie, but I like playing it more than my gibson sg, or fender thinline. It was perfect out of the box.

Depends on what your listening thru..bridge and middle selection are kinda similar..but the neck is very warm sounding
If its not a gibson, fender, a rare ibanez, or old jackson, its not an investment. Investments accrue in value.
