Instead of playing #3 vs #6 and #4 vs #5, have the 3 wild card team 1 game knockout. The bottom 2 wild card teams play on Monday, winner advance to play the #1 wild card team on Tuesday. That winner advances to face the #1 seed in the league. The other 2 division winners play each other in the divisional round. That to me is the only way that they can currently reward all divisional winners. That or do away with divisions altogether and take the top 6 teams in each league..
Absolutely! This taps into the NBA play-in excitement, you get the additional single game do-or-die excitement, and you give at least a 5 game series to a division winner. Or else, like you said, get rid of divisions altogether. Thanks for the thoughtful post!
The point of the playoffs and the WS is to crown not just the best team but the team who’s the best at the right time. By that mentality we should just have the Yankees and Dodgers take red eyes all season, and have them play 81 games against each other and crown the team with the better record

The playoff format is perfect tbh, teams like the tigers have a shot and we’re a pitch or two away from the alcs. More opportunity for moments for players cards, the playoffs will matter more with more opportunity for those moments. As a mookie guy, the fact he stinks in the playoffs is attached to him means it matters to people. The fact Harper outsells mookie is kinda proof that playoffs matter.
What if we drop to 2 divisions in each league. Two champs get a bye, other four teams play best of 3. takes the sting out of a division winner getting stuck with a 3 game series.
I don’t agree about the playoffs stuff. I like having more teams in the hunt which actually makes the regular season a lot more interesting! If you’re going to have a cold week it doesn’t matter which team you’re playing you still lose. Do you really feel better knowing the first series is called the DS instead of the wild card?
I don't care what they call it, I just think that if you win a division (in a division-focused sport!) over a 162 game schedule, you deserve more than a best-of-three series.
@@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin you say win the division but note that the team that has to do that has the worst record of the three division winners and that’s typically a worse record than one or two of the wild card teams. I got into the hobby in 2021. Only invested in Ohtani and obviously it has done amazing. I run a hedge fund. If you doing this fun, do whatever you want. Late ‘s and 90s had tons of variety what are you talking about, it was called junk wax era because so many different companies mak8ng different sets, those sets now sealed does not sale at all, only certain singles.
Sorry T Pot !!! First time I disagree with you on the playoff standing believe. I think if you make it to the playoffs with weak record and you dominate in the playoffs. Then you have proven yourself. And if you are the best then you need to prove yourself as well under any circumstances. 😎💯💪🏽 ain’t nothing easy out in the diamond 😆
Exactly if a wild card team make it to the WS they had to beat the best teams to be there so they deserve it
Machado crapped the bed in the Dodgers series after the drama he tried to stir up.
Problems with Tucker is he plays for Houston and he’s really only played 3 full seasons.
three really good seasons and a ring!
@@SpitballinCards yeah. Not denying that. But a ring with Astros isn’t the same as with another team. The hobby doesn’t like the Astros. Just look at Altuve. Future hall of famer with two 2 rings. MVP etc. (yes one is tainted). Also tucker being a part time player the first few years hurt his value
Pc for me is easy I collect players on my teams, Seahawks, Royals and NY Rangers, I’d trade a Ohtani for a Witt easily. Everything else is for sale
Do you have a 94 Rangers PC?
(chris here)
anything to keep from saying the Mets are the best team in baseball 😂😅
They are getting close to staking that claim!
They've been great for months. Where did this version of Manea come from???
The playoff format is perfect tbh, teams like the tigers have a shot and we’re a pitch or two away from the alcs. More opportunity for moments for players cards, the playoffs will matter more with more opportunity for those moments. As a mookie guy, the fact he stinks in the playoffs is attached to him means it matters to people. The fact Harper outsells mookie is kinda proof that playoffs matter.
Chris here - I can't say he stinks, but he;s had more struggles than successes so far. All that can change in one October!
How are breakers making it better, I paid $22 got one team, 1 card breaking only good because it gets singles out into market.
Chris here - I don't have an answer for you. Its rough to buy wax or buy into breaks. It's a gamble. Nothing more. Nothing less.
I think add one more team, only Top Team gets a bye and the wild cards are three games others are 7
What if we drop to 2 divisions in each league. Two champs get a bye, other four teams play best of 3. takes the sting out of a division winner getting stuck with a 3 game series.
🍀🤘🍀
🍻🍻🍻
The games being at home is plenty enough of an advantage in my book. If they can’t make it happen there that’s on them.
@@dcsoda1 We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I just want the regular season to mean more in baseball, like it used to.
I got into the hobby in 2021. Only invested in Ohtani and obviously it has done amazing. I run a hedge fund. If you doing this fun, do whatever you want. If you want to make serious money, you always need to find the most talented winner people who can do things no one else can. Like Elon musk. Ohtani is that level. No one else comes close. If you think he is Jordan Brady level, cards still cheap.
Thanks warren agree 😉
Chris here - I agree with you on Ohtani. He will always be remembered.

I agree with teapot aswell ....playoff baseball ...every pitch ...every at bat is a game in itself! Each matchup is make it or break it baseball some put their big boy trousers on an go out there an kill it ...an welp some 💩 em lol its crazy judge thrns into squints from the sandlot smh
🤣🤣🤣🤣
How about sean menea! Dude was dealing out there! after all that "stalking Sales film" turned into HIM😳he had the toned down rollie fingers wind up throwing gas! An leaving hitters with the sun in the eyes look scrathing their head lol
Manea has been absolutely dealing for a couple months now!
Can’t wait to see Yankees Dodgers World Series, Ohtani and Betts going to explode
Definitely seems like were heading that way
