This is artistry and musicianship and musicality of the highest order. To take a famous 'big-stop' organ piece by Bach and reinterpret it so masterfully on the piano is genius. It is so beautiful and gives us a new way to connect with that famous composition. As an organist, I know of the challenges inherent in this composition. I play the piano, but the only Bach piece that I credibly perform on the piano is "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." I can do that from memory as it was a piece I played in my first student piano recital about 50 years ago. I could not pull this signature composition off on the piano. Thank you for sharing your artistry and talent with us. This also reminds me of why I love Spanish musicians so well. This performance makes me think of a very apt and wonderful analogy. As an organist, I have admired your fellow countryman, Raul Prieto Ramirez. He is one of the world's must talented organists, with a fabulous technique. He plays Liszt on the organ; you play Bach on the piano. Ha! Love it! Prieto Ramirez performs Lizst's "Mestipho Waltz, No. 1," on TH-cam. Busting down barriers and traditional boundries is something that reminds us of how wonderful music is. These types of wonderful, playful parts of music is certainly part of what contributes to making the artform of music so fresh and evolving. It helps us to forget for awhile the turbulence and stress and awful politics of the world.
Oops, I guess you said, Sorry, Mr. Piano, and I interpreted it as Piano Man. LOL Never mind, I need some sleep. Peace out. Time for me to read a novella and go to sleep rather than write one.

Thank you so much for your very kind and deeply inspiring words!!! 😃😃😃
I don't know what Bach was thinking when he wrote the music at 3:01 , it's to beautiful, I can't even believe that a music can be powerful like that. Congratulation buddy, you are a great musician, and thanks you!

Thank you very much!!! I totally agree, Bach is the supreme master of music!
Also whay I'm learning from watching people do this is fingering be damned. Everyone has their own way of playing this which is quite bothersome because I feel like my tech oque is bad and part of it is my fingering choice being inefficient.
I’ve heard many piano versions of this piece, but this is by far my favorite one. Performance, sound of the piano and the room, just fantastic. Bravissimo
Amazingly played, this was music to my eyes and ears. Without any experience or ablitiy to read sheet music I was able to learn the shortened version of this that I remember from one of my favorite cartoon (once upon time... a man)
Really impressive and nice, just like Bach or like a God! Incredible. P. S. I tried to play an church pipe organ so I know how is that difficult

Thank you very much for your kind words!!! I have been playing this work for more than twenty years, so it doesn't seem so difficult to me nowadays... :)
Fantastic.rendition. I have had no lessons , ungraded but self taught and taking this on. Its a very logical piece so comprehension is not too difficult but of course fingering and speed are. I am up to the 3 minute mark but struggle in some places. That said i am getting faster and more accurate each day. I just want to make the 5.30 mark. I.start to believe i will be able to play this, which is really a whole other level for me.. This is a major challenge but so far so good. I am learning so much from this. I am curious to see what i can do if i really try hard and believe in myself, allowing time for my neuro physiology to adapt and improve. Wish me luck, patience and persistence
The fingering and hand movement are incredibly impressive to watch! I have been listening to this (watching this) every Saturday, for the past two months, while I'm at the office - speakers turned way up!! ;) Excellent, excellent performance!

Thank you so much for your kind words!!! I'm really glad you have enjoyed this video :) On a very different (almost mystic) mood, may I suggest you this video?: th-cam.com/video/6VJHFBCiIuA/w-d-xo.html
Just awesome. I used to play the piano for 8 years when I was a kid. Then I had to move to another city and did not have a chance to buy a digital piano. Now I am about to do it and I think the first thing I am gonna learn is this masterpiece. Won’t be easy since my skills became rusty but one year I think should be enough
I am seriously thinking about learning to play piano just to be able to play this piece one day. A master piece if there ever was one. Any idea how long it's going to take to learn it as a total beginner? Great performance!

Well, I had played piano for nine years when I learnt it as a teenager. I suppose it will take you not less than six years to get the accuracy and dexterity to play it decently. Actually, this is a virtuoso piece! Anyway, I would encourage you to try it, because there are so many musical treasures in the repertoire. And many of them are playable in a couple of years!
I got similar piano transcription sheets when i had about 8 years experience and never improved my skills till then. I never studied hard on this one and manage only to play up to 3:40 directly from sheet. I think it would take me 4 weeks daily hard practice to finish it without error.
You never know what you are good at until you try it. I started learning drums last year just out of the blue. I purchased an electric drum kit and a class on Udemy and started learning. I've learnt a lot already. There is free stuff on youtube but it's better if you have some structure with the classes, rather than just watching random videos on youtube. Udemy is a great place to start, some good tutors and the courses are cheap.
Something to the effect of the acoustical decay inherent with the piano, which requires a faster tempo on this piece as opposed to the organ which allows it to be played at a slower pace as that instrument uses forced wind through pipes and does not stop sounding until the key(s) -- or pedal(s)-- are released. Though some of the decay can be mitigated with use of the sostenuto pedal, it still doesn't quite have the sustaining quality that most people are used to hearing. I celebrate this wonderful interpretation. It is brilliant.
What an amazing interpretation! Really impressive. May I ask how long have you been studying piano?
6 ปีที่แล้ว +5
Thank you very much! I began when I was eight years old, and finished my studies when I was twenty years old but, you know, playing piano is a lifetime adventure, so I still keep studying and learning... :) By the way, I was 41 in this recording.
Is it possible for a mid age person, say 30, to learn playing the piano, will it be harder than learning when as a child?
6 ปีที่แล้ว +2
It may be harder than it would be as a child, but it is worth it!!! Fortunately, there are hundreds of piano pieces that are truly wonderful without being too hard to play. I would encourage you to learn!!!

Браво, это настоящий Бах, неповторимый, потрясающий, Божественный Иоган Себастьян Бах! Моя Икона, моя бесконечная любовь, преклоняюсь перед композитором и исполнителем великолепным.
I come across this piece every couple of months or years, and every time I’m amazed.
Bravo. Vous êtes un passionné et c'est une joie que de vous entendre.
Great touch! Greetings from Rome, 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I cannot describe how good this is.
Wonderful, masterful; thank you Sir.
Thank you very much!!! :)
👏 You are the best!!!
Thank you sir, I feel like you understood exactly what M.Bach wanted to share
Spectacularly performed

You have to hear it on Organ or akkordeon.... Much better
From 3:01 to 3:40 is my favourite passage ever.
Ernest Moulin I love it on the piano. at 4:19 I cry. it is marvelous
It's transcendental, taking all who hear it to a higher place :)
This is beautiful💕

Excellent, small oops at 8:44, but nevertheless, beautiful.

*standing ovation*
Thank you very much!!! :)
I can't understand, why this video has dislikes
The piano needs another octave or 2 in the bass
I‘m scared
Also whay I'm learning from watching people do this is fingering be damned. Everyone has their own way of playing this which is quite bothersome because I feel like my tech oque is bad and part of it is my fingering choice being inefficient.
9:19 la peor parte
Bach au piano, un non sens total!
Why is this so creepy!?
Aahahah
Rogerina Taylah I think you just a kid lol
Moneymakin k yeah lmao

Doesn't sound right on the majors.

My God the acoustic in that hall is too damn good, and your interpretation is, I love it.
Thank you very much!!! :)
0:00 to 9:19 is no doubt my favorite part, so beautifully written and played!
Thank you very much!!! :)
Purtroppo non abbiamo la trascrizione di Listz
Absolutely the best interpretation I have ever heard on the Piano of Toccata & Fugue .
Thank you very much!!! :)
Mee too.
It's like beauty and insanity swirling in a stream of chaos and order.

I'm almost done with learning Bach's Little Fugue in G minor, I'm DEFINITELY learning this next!
Great! You are going to have a great time with this piece!!! :)
@ Yes, bet it's very hard though lol
Update: Almost half way done with it, it is pretty hard XD
@@rubiksmaster301 Congrats!!!

Amazing! I'm learning the slightly simplified version and I'm amazed you can play this with only 10 fingers. Takes a lot of skill
Thank you very much!!! :)
Hey Kara, what version are you using that’s slightly simplified? I could use it because I’m never gunna be able to do as well as this lol
Such a great song, always referred to it as *"Dracula's doorbell"* 🧛♂️
Simply majestic, superb, MAESTRO! This performance transported me to the clouds and Heaven! Great job!
Thank you so much!!!
2:50
2:54 empieza lo bueno

Man It is great and i am trying to play it on the guitar and it seems to be technically complicated
"Seems to be technically complicated" lol understatement of the last 3 centuries.
Lol ya thank?!? Just kidding Bach is a prodigious genius the likes of which this world rarely gets the blessing to gaze unto.

Definatly this job was Made specially for pipe organ no doubt about that
toccata sounds bad on piano because its invented for a organ pipe but stil amazing preformance
