I may be one of the few people that LOVE Hix. He's just so adorable. He's going to save Tengaar! How could you not want to bring him along. Tengaar and Hix are two of my favourite characters... Their character arcs are just always so good. Note that Hix names his sword after Tengaar, as is customed in his village. And Flik's sword is named Odessa. Hmmm... think that's the only in game proof that Flik is from the Warrior's Village originally at least in this game?
Or maybe Flik heard of the tradition and decided he would name his sword too. Then again, if I had a sword, I would probably name it regardless of tradition. I like to name my cars after all.
Hey Lucah, I just wanted to say, I really apreciate your voicework. I listen to those while cooking, because the length is perfect, and I can always tell which character is saying what without even looking based on your voices, even with a huge cast like this. The way you also are very descriptive of what you are going to to/is doing helps a lot in knowing what is happening without having to look at it at all times! Keep up the good work! All the current series are very fun to watch.
My biggest qualm about this game is the fact that there are so many compulsory party members that REALLY bog you down, and it defeats the purpose of having this many characters to choose a party from. Even in the final dungeons, there are 2 compulsory S characters, which really only leaves ONE S space open! Suikoden 2 was WAYYY better about this, in that I could bring the 5 flying squirrels to the final boss.
I think because Neclord has a weakness to fire she's hoping to use that fire rune to her advantage. Kirkis isn't bad. And he'll catch up in levels quick.
If you are just going to stay in your castle using chinchiron is the best way to level weapons and get armor. This is because as long as you keep winning the winnings keep stacking and as long as you get a few storms in your favor in a row it takes like 3 wins to get max money.
Hix is pretty poor in suiko 1 compared to the Tengaar who slots in well as a back line Mage, but he's a fine front line in suiko 2 as his weapon is pre affixed with an Exertion Rune that makes his damage scaling in long battles. Due to the exclusivity of that weapon affix his damage potential is reasonably high. I believe he can also double rune Fury and Double Beat in the late game and he gains a 4th level magic slot meaning he's a passable mageknight as well. He has no serious holes in his defensive stats, while not super bulky he makes up for that with reasonably high avoidance and passable magic defense. In the Neclord fight where Hix is required he's a sub par damage dealer, the Clone Rune is a good choice to crutch his damage output while also giving him turns where he can act as support healer. He can also use a Water Rune as a backup healer even though he will only have access to Kindness Drops.
I gave Hix the fortune Rune before I started Neclord's castle he was 38 after I finished there was level 50 but I'm thinking about redoing Necorld's castle.
Some characters have runes you can't remove from them... Valeria's falcon rune, Pahn's boar rune, Kasumi's shrike rune, Luc's wind rune... and of course Eileen's earth rune. She's kind of stuck with it I'm pretty sure. It's been a while but I feel she is. And no. Each character has like a spell grid which is level based. And it's the same for every type of magic rune. So say at level 40 Kirkis has like... 5 lvl 1, 4 lvl 2 etc... it'll be the same amounts whether it's fire, wind, earth etc. Suikoden 1's magic set up is very basic. In the 2nd game characters can be better with one element than the other etc, and so their spell grids are more varying, but in 1 it's pretty simple.

Pokemon Trainer Sirrah The warriors of the village name their swords after the one they choose to protect. Odessa was Flik's reason for fighting.
If you take Flik when you first go to the Warrior's Village someone does say something to him. I think it's a random villager. I forget the specifics.

Fine, thanks
Can't wait for the next one!
Ive had three midterms today so this video is very fine, thanks!
Hi, Sonia! How are you today? Kazuichi gotten over you yet?

Hal Ryder wait you actually did the Mukumuku’s family challenge? How was it? 😂
I really enjoy the episodes where you’re just recruiting! I love seeing all the characters.
So Tai Ho and Hix for endgame, make it happen
TaiHix?
pokechatter On the assumption Hix isn't a minor, yeah why not
Surely being named a warrior is a sort of "coming of age" for that village? Besides, isn't Tir 15, yet the TirHo meme is a thing?
Maybe the character list is sorted by name of Star of Destiny a character is attached to?
MaxWeitzz Maybe, or it could be in an order that makes sense in Japanese. 🤷
Can confirm, Hix is a squishy baby
Well he may be weak and freaking sucks in battle but any man willing to go into the fray and puts his life on the line for love, has my respect.
Why not take Kasumi? She's trained, long distance, and does a decent job at tanking Neclord's annoying attacks.
I think because Neclord has a weakness to fire she's hoping to use that fire rune to her advantage. Kirkis isn't bad. And he'll catch up in levels quick.

I love the Star Dragon Sword and Victor's dynamic, haha!
I look forward to these videos all the time
I can never wait till the next episode this series is amazing
I'm loving this play through!
Know what Lucah? JUST BECAUSE you called Hix garbage... I'm going to use him!
That's just like you, Monokuma.
13:50 IT'S WALDO. Catch them before he hinds
The moment every Suikoden player fears: taking crappy Hix
Another great episode!
I rolled when the game quacked at you for not having enough money for the guard ring 😂
Lucahjin's commentary is so funny when these vids are played at 2x speed lol😆
I've been following along with my own playthrough. By the time the next episode is up my Hix will be a BEAST.
And now you remember why the comment section gave Hix shit in Suikoden 2.

Neclord be felled by a tsundere sword.
Neclord's Castle was actually my favorite grinding spot for everyone in the entire castle, even Sansuke.
#TirHO for the fight against Neclord!!!!
I gave Hix the fortune Rune before I started Neclord's castle he was 38 after I finished there was level 50 but I'm thinking about redoing Necorld's castle.
23:42 Hix might as well be wearing shit, to be fair.
The silverelet fiasco is why I never sell things in rpgs xD
bring back TirHo, bring back TirHo... lol
Yay recruitment episode! =D
Fine, Thanks
23:11 FINETHANKS lmfao
#TirHo #TirHo Hai Ho and away we go!
Great episode as always!
Could you take Eileen with the Fire Rune? She has a decent Magic stat right? That might be useful. o:
I feel pretty sure that Eileen's earth rune is stuck to her. Some characters are like that. (Like Luc and his wind rune.)
ShivaGames Luc's and Eileen's runes are not fixed.
i'm pretty sure that my weapon levels never got above 9, i beat the game tho so yea weird
Couldn't Lucah exchange Eileen's and Kirkis's runes? Why didn't she do it? (I don't understand the rune system that well)
She could. I don't think she thought of that though...
just to be sure, If you exchange magic runes do you need to battle with them to learn more spell uses for each spell?
Some characters have runes you can't remove from them... Valeria's falcon rune, Pahn's boar rune, Kasumi's shrike rune, Luc's wind rune... and of course Eileen's earth rune. She's kind of stuck with it I'm pretty sure. It's been a while but I feel she is.

Why does the elves sound Scottish?! It sounds hilarious!
How is everyone today :)
Fine, thanks. ;)
Actually like Hix, but lets face it his girl Tengaar is better.

First
To get a game over.
I doulwd prefer Lorelai or Eileen or Valeria, instead of the giant or that boring Pahn.
