Well done gentlemen! Just one tip: Wear a face shield or at least eye protection when loading the HotMix into the Smelter. Splashback can cause serious burn injuries. All the best!
Spicy Wow, I thought that’s the thing only here in Croatia. Reason for that is the road maintenance company is avoiding to pay extra for the night work.
It is just amazing if only it was like that here. In Greek actually there is an expression, implying how much more open minded or civilised or with a great public system Sweden is
Well that "open minded, civilized great public system" will not last for very long... I give it another 5-8 years before reality catches up... We have got way too many non-productive welfare receivers and criminals the last 20 years. The taxes will need to be raised to keep up, and at the same time the incentive for productive people to pay taxes continues to decrease.
Yes , to use such excellent quality for crosswalks that people "never use" is really not good, its the same mistake as to put diet protein powder into stores, just to see obese people walking by it! What a waste of time and money, the world is full of idiots, or not?
Believe me if I say more is needed, we need like Russia, white and yellow paint on the street and also a yellow reflex around the sign. Because the Swedes trust the drivers 100% and cross the street without hesitation, and because the night is so long and dark in the winters in Sweden. Like so someone can read this.
Love how they let cars drive through and around the work site. Here in SoCal the city block would be closed off with law enforcement 24 hours prier and 24 hours after and that's on a good day.
I love it that people in Sweden actually use common sense on the road...here in NZ there would be about hundreds of road cones billions of signs and probably 5 people just trying to keep everyone and everything *safe* absolute ridiculous!
here in my country most of the driver didn't know what the hell are those white stripes are for on the road.. instead they step harder on the accelerator when they see it.. proud to be pinoy I guess 😏👏🇵🇭
i once think like you too, but then ill go hanging out with them while they work and they say last night drunk driver run them over, 1 still in hospital.(sorry for my bad english)
after 10 years in this field i can tell you that solvent paint is the most resistant of all on asphalt ! none of the products are actually guaranteed on period , they are usually guaranteed on tire passes exp 2 years (heat /cold /moist can deteriorate any paint or thermoplastic over a period of time )or a 100.000 tire passes
I assume that the preformed thermo sheets are cheaper to get un-reflectized, then apply your own reflective glass? rather than reflective thermoplastic. is it standard road grade glass?
Second guy is adding the reflective material, like a powder that makes it really really shine when headlines hit it. Also it is super heated when applied, 200 degrees Celsius, when it cools it is not going anywhere. It turns into like a pad that is glued down. Only takes a few minutes to cool and harden, it is not like paint, more like molten rubber almost.
I like how only 2 workers were needed for this job and that they didnt have to close the whole roundabout. In the uk it would be fucking closed and you'd see about 20 odd workers
You got it all wrong. Here in England the workers have got it down to another level. Look like you’re grafting but stretch it out for a month. By working so efficiently you ruin the delicately balanced ‘system’.
It's called thermoplastic. We use the same stuff in America. We also have much more stringent requirements on safety. This operation would've blocked off a lane of traffic and there would've been much brighter lighting if construction took place at night. Like the other poster said, the powder is actually glass beads. This makes the striping reflective to headlights at night. Thermoplastic needs to be about 380-290 degrees fahrenheit on application. Pretty cool stuff.
i think they shudv start from right to left. since both of them are stepping to the left of the lines after each paint. would be for easier and comfortable and not having to be cautious of stepping on the previous lines.
Они это сделали, за 20 минут и всего лишь 2 работника. А в Russia, это бы заняло, около 1 или 2 месяцев. Смотря, в каком регионе. Закрыли бы дорогу и.тд
Those crosswalks are a serious hazard for some time after they have been made, as seen in the video they first apply the "hot plastic paint" then they sprinkle a white reflective powder on it (to make it more visible) but this powder is extremely slippery since it is just a loose powder. Many people on bicycles, mopes, and motorcycles have fallen and hurt themselves and damaged their vehicles due to the white powder.
They're doing it wrong then. The powder you say is actually spherical glass beads to reflect the light. They're literally ball bearings. Whoever is doing the install is supposed to clean up any that don't get adhered to the paint. Like you said they're extremely hazardous to 2-wheel vehicles.
For some reason, they grip just excellently to polyurethane wheels on long boards. Never had a problem pumping on them. I know they are death to MC people.
@@KülkedisiKüllü the simplest explaination is often correct I guess, it just seems like it's lasting alot more pulls than it should if that's how they did it
