    I feel you on the eyeball itching! I can't even wear mascara or eyeliner because it irritates my eyes so much. Eyeshadows and concealers close to my eyes also bring up the itch and discomfort. Not sure if you need to hear this, but I do not find it distracting in your video.. just familiar LOL.

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s the weirdest thing. I get in front of those lights and my left eye dries right up! It’s almost like I can’t blink. I do have eye drops the doctor gave me, but I think it might be time to bring it up again!

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might not even need to add the extra ease at the waist. I would do a quick muslin and see if you could make it as is without the zipper. The gathered panel in the front gives it quite a bit of wiggle room!

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The printing and taping at home isn’t too bad. Because the pattern has layers you can print just your size. Kennis has a shortcut post on the Itch To Stitch website that shows how she does the cutting and taping and it’s must faster than how I used to do it. I would definitely recommend that method!

    Dear withney, it’s possible the rash under your wedding ring is caused by the antibacterial lotion we all are using like crazy. In Belgium it was an item on the national news that you have to use lotions without colour and without fragrance. Because this can cause allergic reactions and burns into your skin, and even causes permanent skin discolouration. Love you, hope you are save ... looking forward to your next video.

Looks like you got it clean and that’s all that matters. Enjoy your videos. What are your thoughts on sewing this pattern in a knit? My daughter just found out that she is expecting. Sorry for the double comment, but the first one didn't address the DRESS.. which is really lovely! I tend to be housebound and am really looking for easy to wear clothing that I could wear on a short walk to the corner store, so for me, while I wouldn't likely wear it outside in the coldest parts of winter, it would be fantastic year round as a "housedress" that wouldn't get me arrested if I needed to pick up a little milk. :)
    We have very similar proportions (though my bust and hips tend to be almost the same number). While you are much slimmer than I am.. I truly appreciate your insights on patterns because of the similarities.
    Does Itch to Stitch use RTW sizing for the cups? I noticed some companies use the RTW standards while others use a different system. With RTW I am a G.. which means there are few adjustable cup sizes that work for me when they are using RTW sizing for the cups.

    I'm so sad!! This pattern is amazing but it would take too much tweaking to get it to fit!! I love it on you and I think you need to make at least one in every colour of linen you have in your pallet. I think it would be cute to shorten it to just below the hips to wear with leggings.

      It would make a nice tunic

      You are so right! Hang in there. She did a call out for larger sizes to test her pull-on jeans pattern. This leads me to believe she’s going to start extending her sizes!

    So no petite adjustment to the arm hole and sleeves? I usually need it just like you 😁. So if you got away without it and can probably do the same.

      For some reason, I don’t have to do petite adjustments on her patterns. I did shorten it at both lengthen and shorten lines (1” at each for a total of 2”) to make the proportions better fit my short frame, but that’s all I had to do!

      @@TomKatStitchery that is awesome! I've never tried their patterns but I might just have to get this one. Pretty yet comfortable, seems pretty.

    Are you particular about what brand of thread you use? I'm asking because I'm at the point where I've fallen in love with sewing and am ready to invest in good quality thread. I hear Aurifil is the best and am willing to invest in that brand. I just thought I'd see what brand you use. TIA

      I use Gutterman Mara 100 thread for 90% of my sewing. I buy it for a great price at www.wawak.com . You can also buy their color chart so it makes buying thread online a breeze!

    Hi Whitney do you think that the sleeves could be hacked on this dress to just above the elbow, or longer?

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think lengthening the current sleeve pattern would be easy to do!

    Hello as a new sewer I'm looking for a body shape the same as mine xx can I ask what your measurements are to indicate a short waist. I hope that makes sense
    Thank you

      It really depends on each body and your proportions. However, if I poke myself in the side and feel the bottom of my rib cage, it is only about 1.5” away from the top of my hip bone. My daughter has about 4” between the bottom of her rib cage and the top of her hip bone.

    I need to understand how to do away with facings for ever . I hate em.

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      😂 I get it. This one has a facing, but it gets stitched down all the way around so it’s not as bad. I very frequently will chose to line a bodice to get away from having to use a facing!

    Just want to learn about the dress pattern. Not interested in the long story since data is expensive.
