  • I rode my bike 100 miles for the fourth time this month. I usually only do one or two 100 mile bike rides a year (on a geared bike) so doing these long rides on a fixed gear is a HUGE accomplishment for me.
The bike is a stock Crew District Track bike with the exception of Continental Grand Prix tires and an Amazon 3D printed saddle. The tires make all the difference in terms of rolling resistance and going faster but ultimately, the saddle is key to enjoying and surviving these rides (in terms of equipment). You're on the bike for hours on end and you want to be as comfortable as possible. I made many many stops on this ride dialing in the Amazon 3D printed saddle, since I installed it minutes before the ride, but now it's perfect.
I finally was able to resolve the audio and video not matching after exporting but still trying to figure out why my Garmin overlays stop working at around 100 miles. A bit frustrating but you're just going to have to take my word that I'm actually riding 100 miles. Strava stats at the end of the video!
Consider liking and subscribing if you like this kind of fixed gear/cycling content (road bike content coming soon!). It only motivates me to put out more and better videos! In the meantime, if you're currently working to riding your first 100 miles, I wish you the best. Reach out for tips!
