    Nice video. It helps a lot. 2 months ago replaced these D-bushings to a new aftermarket. But after a while clunking noise pops up again. I understand the problem after your video. New aftermarket rubbish bushings have a cut in the center and sway bar knocking to bracket through this cut when I drive over bumps, especially when doing sharp turn. Thanks!
    Also would be great to watch exhaust replacement-front part. I have impreza 2010, changed doughnut and exhaust manifold gaskets, but rattle sound and exhaust smell still present when you open driver’s door. Unlikely that it is a hole under exhaust shield, drive in Sydney, very dry and no corrosion at all. Cheers!

      Thank you. I just replaced the lower control arms. (Will be posted within a few days.) Still have the valve cover gaskets and most likely an exhaust video.

      Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. Just finished the valve cover gaskets. It wasn't fun but it's done. I'll upload within a few days.

    Just what I needed! Phenomenal video. May I ask - could you make a separate video showing the front jacking point? Here on the video it is black + it is dark so it is hard to see. Or if not a video maybe a few pics on the website. Thanks 😊

      Thank you, I appreciate it. I tend to look at suspension components whenever the car is in the air. Most manufacturer's recommend to inspect suspension components every 30k miles.

    This is a great video. I’m doing this to my 2011 Legacy as well as the sway bar links and lower control arms. What are the torque specs for the bolts on the bushing brackets?

    I wish you can do more videos on the 1997 Maxima. I need to do the lower control arm on my 1995 Maxima but there's no good video on how to do it.

    Are you of the opinion that rusted fasteners pre-treated with penetrating PB Blaster can withstand removal with a corded impact wrench?

      Thank you. I prefer to loosen them up with a breaker bar, but that's just me being overly cautious; especially on this old Subaru.

    Great video! By the way, on my 2010 legacy, one of the front bushings is behind the sub frame and i was not sure if i could still undo the bolt of the bushing bracket or if i need to drop the subframe. Is there is a nut that need to catch when i undo the bracket bolt?

      Contemplating on doing a head gasket video - meaning pulling the engine. I'm 50/50 on it. I may just sell the vehicle. Are you looking for anything in particular?

      @@CarsNToys HOw is the condition of the polyurethane on the sway bar bushing now? Are they getting noisy or harsh ride?

  • @keithhoneycutt3874

    the bar is approximately 19-inches long, however, the approximate center of the socket will be at approximately 17-1/2 inches from the end. therefore, its' only giving approximately 17-1/2 inches of leverage. just based off the quick shot of the breaking bar and tape measure comparison.

    Do you run a mechanic shop or do this by word of mouth and private customers?

    • @CarsNToys
      @CarsNToys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Johnny. I don't run a mechanic shop. I tend to tackle jobs for preventative maintenance purposes, for family and friends, a video request from a viewer; that sort of thing.
