Last 6 years Cebu my go to place, However, I just did 6 months in Philippines traveling and home based in Manila. I was wrong about Manila. Good advice on the proximity of Manila in dating. If you learn the train, motor taxis, and how to manage the taxis from cheating you its a great place. Cubao for travel as everything goes there, and Makati has sidewalks, trees, parks, and is a great walking city. A great dating pool, but, you need a few pesos and have value(looks, personality, etc, ) and be willing to do 10-20 year age gap instead of 20-30 and its fantastic. The quality of the ladies is off the charts to me as a blend of Pinay and the west. Easy to find women with a lot more in common and mentally stimulating and curious. Even the airport has improved a lot.
I've been to both Cebu City and BGC. While I liked the business district and IT park in Cebu City, there really is no comparison to BGC. It's nicer than most places I've ever visited or lived, not only in the Philippines, but in the world.
Do you live I’m BGC?
No, I was there for 6 weeks recently and I'm going back next month. I met many expats while there that have lived there for a while, so I know the rent prices somewhat.
@@SoloTravelGuyNow I meant for the last message to go to you, not me. Lol
BGC is very nice but it is a long ways to a nice beach. Build a BGC on a beach like where he is in this video and you have gold. Best of both worlds. Like Jomtien Thailand only better
@@JJ38255Exactly.... because what is great about a strip of cafes, especially when most locals cant afford them with their wages. Is there a zoo or a nice historical site at BGC. it is condominiums and some tiny malls. Well, it has white people and Filipinos love to look at them. I worked in a big school there once. So i know it can be nice. But the hype on social media can get annoying. Places like the Alabang Town Center or the Shangri La Mall can be just as good.
Hi Chad., my husband and I totally agree with your observation about finding a wife material in Manila compared to Cebu. The women in Cebu and Dumaguete has been tainted because of exposure to lots of foreigners. Manila has more educated, mature women with careers and able to take care of themselves. The only thing is that ,the foreigner also has to present himself as a good catch. The foreigner will not get the same attention as what they are getting in the remote provinces.
Yes well said, it's a new realization for me I think Manila is great and a better fit for me than I thought it was initially
@@ChadFosterExplores I really wish you can find the right one! It’s not easy.. that’s what my husband says lol !
This video was very timely. I appreciate you putting it out. The Philippines is one of the countries I’m researching starting next month. I land in Manila August 15. I’ve been watching hundreds of videos of other cities in the Philippines but the more I think about it, Manila seems like a better fit for me at least for the Philippines before I go out to Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and back to Thailand.
I'll be landing in Manila on August 14 and staying in Forbes Town, BGC. I'll be there a month. If you want help with anything, like finding a place to stay or visa extension, send me a message.
Well that's awesome then I'm glad it came at the right time! Thanks for watching 🙏
@@ChadFosterExplores when will you be back in PH?
Good decision where to stay. Enjoy
Hey, Chad!, it's me Judy, the one you met at MOA before, hope you're doing well and you enjoyed your stay in PH.🙂
Also consider Vigan City if u have time and not too far north of Manila. Heard from a French guy that it reselbles an old Euro style city with lots of charm.
You only know until you get here for you.
It's not the location, it's the person. You can take a girl out of the province but you can't take the province out of the girl.
Thank God!
Very true! I agree 100%
Hence the reason ..don’t date a province girl lol 😂
Just because shes independent in Philippines doesn't mean that she's not looking for a rich foreigner so she can get out of the Philippines and have a provider 😊 there's also a lot of province girls living in Cebu, my girlfriend is living in Cebu but she's raised in Camotes.
Unfortunatley he started off with a very negative assumpition that only women with advanced educatiion and a stable career could actually be interested ih him for more than his money, but this is not only offensive to all the outstanding women from provinces but he also devalues himself in the proccess but thinking that he might not be that attractive to most Philipinas aside from hiis money, it's very tragic and disappointing.
Harder to find the “professional” Filipina” .. the guys with the province girls don’t understand it usually as they’ve not dated the plethora of Filipina. As for green card ..we’ll if your staying here ..your staying here. Ps all women like men should be dating UP.
I met my sweetheart in Manila. She was a province girl working in Ermita. We're both retired now and living the good life in Cebu. You're spot on about finding good Filipinas in Manila!
No matter what I love Cebu. The people are the nicest, theres the city, beaches, hills and mountains, I have lovely nieces and cousins who are single, working, educated who live in Cebu. But I'm protective of them so...
Outstanding analysis and video. Ty Chad!
Hey thank you I appreciate it 🙏
Agree, find a girl that works and has a job. They are more responsible. They are usually sending money home to take care of their parents. Its better if she has siblings who work to help support the family. Picked Cebu to find a girl just because it was not as big as Manilla. As an afterthought, Manilla would have been better if I was concerned about the costs if bringing the girl to the US on a fiancée visa because the medical exam happens in Manilla 2 weeks before the interview at the US Embassy. So there are the costs associated with transportation, hotels, food, if your girl is from Cebu. Luckily my Filipina wife had cousins in Manilla that she could stay with.
Am glad you are touting the value of girls from the city, there really are a lot of girls in the Philippines and you never know where you are going to meet the right one.
Good video, Chad...Jim
Hey thanks Jim I always appreciate your comments, yeah I definitely have a whole new appreciation for Manila as a place to live and as a place to meet quality Filipinas I think more guys should consider it.
Great work. No need to overly worry. Your view seems honest and well-intended. 😀
Hey Chad, thanks for your channel. I've been following you since your first adventures in PH!
I've met girls online that had their own business and to be honest I didn't not like their attitude very bossy Iike didn't care for it and then you mix in jealousy na
I have never understood the fascination with Cebu. Manila has it all no comparison and you can get out of the city anytime you want. Health Care is in Makati/BGC. None of you talk about Ayala Alabong. You should. You want quality women? There millions in Manila.
We would love to live in Ayala Alabang. Too bad home prices start at 2M USD!!
@@allanf6047Then why not in Filinvest City, the next best option. Also in Muntinlupa City.😅
100% spot on. I love the messy ness and cheaper prices
I tend to agree with your analysis of Cebu and Manila-BGC kind of area; BGC is super nice and has a great vibe ; no idea how much would cost live there instead of Cebu or Davao (where I'm currently in) El-nido is nice but I don't think there is any opportunity for dating, so for single guys is a no-go zone
Chad, could you check out the roller skate rinks when you are in Quezon City, Paranaque and Caloocan? I'm a skate nerd and hope to find a girl who also loves to skate.
Thanks for all the great content!
Who is your audience? I would have thought that a westerner who is going to live in the Philippines is typically either retired and on a pension, or is retiring early and living off investment income and savings only and needs to keep costs down. How many are really guys in their 40s who can afford to move to BGC? And if they are older can they realistically date women there? I think sometimes people with TH-cam income forget that their viewers are going to be doing this with no income.
How much is the cost of living in BGC?
There are so many beautiful and nice areas in Metro Manila. I'm from here so I could definitely tell you guys.
The majority of women from Metro Manila who are originally "FROM" Manila are educated and working in a foreign and local companies, many times snub and don't want to be with foreigners. But of course there are looking also.
1. Makati City
2. Taguig City- BGC and Arca South
3. Quezon City- Eastwood, Araneta Center, little part of Ortigas Center.
4. Pasig City- Ortigas Center
5. Muntinlupa City- Filinvest Center and Alabang Area.
6. Pasay and Parañaque Cities- the "Bay City" the newest hub like BGC and Makati but with Manila Bay in the background
8.Manila City- actually my favorite.
I didn't include the most expensive or gated communities because if you're a foreigner and not rich in the U.S or Europe I don't think you could afford those places as well 😅
Travel to Batangas, Tagaytay, La Union, Bulacan, Pampanga which are a few of the provinces in the largest island of the Philippines where the culture is different from Visayas and Mindanao
roaming first city life so that you may have video all around different cities stories in Manila Philippines
I stayed in Pasay and it was a little overwhelming to be honest when it comes to people and buildings everywhere. A lot of poverty in the area too. Maybe I’ll try staying in other areas of Manila/Makati area 👍🏼 thanks for the video Chad!
I stayed there too it seemed like an overpriced couple of blocks of "normal" surrounded by poverty
@@altonarmPasay has "Bay City" it's like BGC, Ortigas and Makati with biggest malls, hotels restaurants and even hospitals.

Chad may had finally found the “golden key” 😊
Hi Chad. I never thought before about what you are describing about the dating pool in Manila. I completely see your point. I think it may certainly be a much better place to find a truly more compatible woman for a long-term relationship. Of course it really depends on what you are looking for. As for me, I think I might be more attracted to the type of woman Nick is looking for. I think it really depends on who you happen to meet, but chances just might be higher in Manila.
Yeah this is a new realization for me on Manila... it has surprised me and I think it's a fantastic place to meet a great girl. There are many options depending on what you're looking for but the common theme is most are living a responsible life with some purpose although many are tired and overworked. it's definitely worth a consideration and if I had to say, at this point I think it's a better option than Cebu city
I agree on Manila is more nice even sometime can feel too big
Yes they are working but once they meet or dating foreigners they become dependent to the guy and their being hardworking and traditional women type is gone.
Really? Did you know them 😂
Interesting to hear the comparison, moving to Manila after summer and can't wait to explore ⛱️🌞
Yes better. I suggest to visit Puerto Gallera Mindoro. Play golf at Ponderosa Golf course
@@enzomatheo1 thanks, definitely gotta check it out! 🌞
It's nicer in BGC than in Cebu for sure, but it comes with a price which means much higher living cost. And for older men(60+) with not the best pension, Cebu or other province "capitols" might be a better choice. And as you mentioned, the friendliness is higher the longer distance from Manila you get, BGC specifically.
Huge misconception. BGC has a lot more rental units available than Cebu Ayala business park and Mandani Bay. BGC is 1K per square meter for rent. Many pockets of Cebu at the higher end is 1.2-1.4K per square meter. Huge falsity being propagated that housing is more expensive in BGC.
Actually go walk hundreds of condos and look at listings.
At the luxury end, Cebu is more expensive.
Again, you and I are on the same page. I found the rent a little higher in BGC, but many more options and much better amenities. Everything else is the same price, but with unlimited eating options and other things to do.
I like walking, so I save money by staying just outside BGC. Then i walk to BGC or book Angkas if it's late.
30 year old plus women get very little attention on dating sites. By the time the guy is 50 he's going to wish he was with a hot 22 year old.
what about a medium sized area where there are beautiful woman but you are still a rock star?
Nick sounds like he's coming with a scarcity mindset, he probably also doesn't have much relationship experienced and he's so paranoid that women miight be after his money that he priioratizes an "educated career woman" over everything else. Most of us are trying to get away from career women in their 30's, but he's so afraiid that someone might be after his money that he'd rather date an career lady. Very strange, usually women in their 30s who are still single aren't the best relationship material otherwise they would've been taken years ago. I have a feeling it won't work out for them but good luck to em both!!!
Lol the assumptions ..a lot of career Filipina are committed to work and maybe have commitments. Women reach the 30’s and it dawns on them ..yikes I really would like a partner and family. It’s the best fit for western men ..as they usually are modern in their thinking and more worldly wise…and not carry the baggage of the provinces where ya are seen as the walking wallet ..
@@Eric-qm5xw Again i have reject the assumption, which is basically a stereo type based on ignorance and lack of experience, that just cause a filipina is young and from the province she's not cabable of actual romantic love and just cause a woman is over 30 and a career woman doesn't mean she's more likely to be loving. These knd of assumptions generally come from fear and a scarcity miindset.
@@amazonseller-yf8vv You’ve already noted that apparently province Filipina exhibit certain characteristics as opposed to city Filipina..it’s just lack of experience.
That's interesting. I'm like your buddy Nick. I want a middle-class to high class girl that's educated as I think it's a better fit for me. I have money but I don't want someone that needs to use me as the ATM for the family. If the girl is poor, I can guarantee you that her family will be coming after you for money. It's just my choice.
Yeah I think there are some gems that fall into this category that a lot of guys overlook. Especially girls in their upper 20s or 30ish many guys overlook them. But for many guys they are most compatible with this age and type of Filipina. Thanks for tuning in and leaving your thoughts I appreciate it 🙏
Hi Chad. Appreciate this video as i kind of ruled out Manila due to what I've heard but plan to stop by Makati & BGC next trip in Mar'25.
This is going to be easier said than done but I think you need to pursue your hobbies while living in the Philippines and that way, it takes the anxiety off of finding “the one”. Dating in the US, in the Philippines or anywhere will never be easy regardless of gender, family background or financial status but if you have something in common, it can help you get to know a person.
I haven't been to Cebu but I love Manila I did meet my girl there but she is from Davao
Chad, this is completely off topic but what sunglasses are you wearing and what is best for the intense sun / near water / riding in the PH. I know polarized but there are so many variations on the theme. Not sure if you’ve given it much thought or looked at other peoples shades. The lens matters… thx.
Mine are Native brand. And yeah they are polarized.… You can get cheaper polarized or more expensive depends if you want to worry about super expensive sunglasses if that's not an issue I would say Maui jims are the best
@@ChadFosterExploresAppreciate the quick response… and agree, Mauis are the best. Costa seems like a great glass that focuses on water sports / fishing, which requires a lot of light blockage and filtering extreme glare. This was a great vid if I didn’t say it before and an interesting perspective on the big cities. Really looking forward to seeing where you end up… and with whom.
You look attractive. Filipina will like you easily.
Manila the true city such as university belt Cubao or Quiapo QC malate where no tourists roam, you can find dating adventures
OK thanks for sharing that other area I hadn't heard of it. Yeah Manila has so many great areas
Manila has Manila airport and huge traffic ... I try and pass on that.
They have a Metro subway project going on so hope it helps in the future.
Many new train lines are opening soon. Another 5 stations this 2024 of LRT 1, one of those going to airport and a new train line called MRT7 in 2025. The NSCR railways, the longest train lines that connected 5 provinces and Metro Manila in 2029. A subway in 2030 and the newest airport in 2028. A planned monorail MRT 4 too.
Funny how men will think they are going to find a modern woman (educated, career oriented) who is also traditional. They don't understand how these things are contradictory and will eventually lead to problems.
I married one. City girl with probinsya attitude. You don't know what you're missing
@@robocop581 like I said, western men don't understand.
Mostly accurate but regarding dating in BGC and parts of Makati; it’s similar to dating in Miami or LA. You need to be fit, attractive, well dressed, and have $ just to have a shot. Your age matters as well.
Chad, if you fall for Manila BGC or Makati - you may be better off in Toronto, Ottawa 15:56 , or Vancouver
Coming to the Philippines is worth it if you come to its nature and beauty
To foreigners who wanted to find true love just look women and men from Manila and Cebu, if I said Cebu in metropolitan Cebu not in other provinces nearby like Leyte, Bohol provinces women there are for the money.
Anywhere I've been in PH is phenomenal for dating. 99% of girls you will meet are from the province.
I was going to say the exact same thing. I've heard more than one vlogger say to stay away from Manila and especially BGC for dating. I had more luck in BGC than Cebu City and you are correct, every woman I met was from the province.
@@randydmitch Does it mean it's the provincial girls who are naturally inclined to date foreigners?
I'm not sure how to respond to that. I think it's possible to date someone from Manila as well, I just happened to meet some from the province that work and live in Mailla.
The province girls are the low hanging fruit. The modern city Filipina..is the prize 🏆but most quality city Filipina will not date older foreigners.
@@Eric-qm5xw Not really, they are more likely to have a boss babe attitude. Plus even a doctor in Manila earns a measly $1000 a month 😂 that's like 2 hours work for me why do i need a Filipina to contribute that?
The best scenario is a filipina raised in the province who then went to a second tier city to work but still retains all of her provincial qualities.
I do agree that the highest quality women will not date you if you are either over 50 or not in shape.
I'm living long term in the heart of Metro Manila and I'm doing terrible with the dating market here and I'm on five dating apps. However there's plenty of pay to play here. It would benefit me to live in BGC instead of living close to Poblacion Makati.
Finally you went to see Manila. Its nice here. I lived across BGC. We have a nice mall which is Estancia . Hope to meet you
Thank you 🙏 yes I'll definitely be spending more time in Manila :))
You are in Pasig City in Ortigas District. That's the rival of Makati.
Hey buddy is Jerry okay?
You may have found El Nido's locals not very engaging dur to it being primarily a 3-5 day stop over for most visitors. Therefore the businesses etc just want your money and be done with you. Palawan was a lot different when I visited almost 25 years ago, it was a very underdeveloped paradise back then and the locals were very engaging to a westener, as they were flabbergasted that you'd made an effort to visit their very rural existence, which it was back then.
Yes it about the noses lol
The Philippina I'm with said she wants me to get her pregnant soon I'm not worried she has a good job
I used to work as a Sys Admin for a BPO company here in the states that was headquartered in Cebu. I worked a lot of late nights, 1100-0730. I worked hand in hand with Filipina Sys Admins. They all spoke flawless English, but with that lovely accent. They would tell me to move to Cebu/IT Park when I retired. Then COVID hit and I lost track of those ladies. I'm moving to IT Park in the fall '25. Can't wait! I do have a question. Do Filipinas know how to swim? I'm a scuba diver and want my future gf/wife to dive/snorkel with me.
I will answer you most do not swim no.
In Cebu perhaps because Cebu is a Province known for its beaches, whale sharks and nature as well. The I.T park is in Cebu City. But aside from Cebu City there are another 3 cities and that's you called Metro Cebu, a bigger second economic hub of the Philippines.
Palawan is nice and clean.
Chad, you get it. We developed Makati in the 1960s for our large expat community. At that time it was 🤤 dominated by Americans. Hhh. CBDs are for you digital nomads. Leave the rural areas for us. 😊
In Manila, professional girl woman age 49 will marry an AFAM age 62, the 30 year old Pinay wants a 44 year old foreigner max. 😅 15:11

Didn’t this bozo make a ‘my last day in the PH’ video like a week ago?
I'll be living in Manila next year but with my family of four (and a cat). And I don't think I'll be able to afford a three-bedroom condo in BGC, tbh. Some AirBnB monthly deals in Makati are workable, but when I've searched for something long-term in FB Marketplace, the prices I see are a bit crazy in my opinion. Then again, I'm from Spain, so anything over $1500 is ridiculous from my standpoint.
Of course, I may be mistaken, but it doesn't seem the case from here, especially when everyone says the real deals are in the Marketplace... and I don't see them at all.
So, I'll probably end up in a townhouse in some subdivision in the farther cities, Parañaque, Quezon, maybe even Antipolo, who knows. And those don't look like BGC or Makati at all, lol.
All this said I'm quite grateful you've done this video. I think Manila gets too much bad rep. I've been in Cebu sometimes and I agree it feels a bit 'provincial' after some time, as if everything modern are islands of their own.
Don't you know about Quezon City's Eastwood area and Araneta?
@@chaopanofasia8490 I know of a guy that lives in Eastwood due to his work being there. It seems nice, though very condo-focused (?).

Hello 👋
The problem with your vlog you are concentrating in the Bisayan people enclaves. The Visayas and Mindanao islands.
You're forgetting to explore Luzon Island where Manila is located.
hey bro, i'm looking at Pembo and BGC but need stable WIFI. Pembo is so cheap, but can i get stable WIFI and be safe walking around most of the time? cheers
Safety was not an issue for me at all it's actually pretty cool there and really close walking over the bridge to BGC. As far as Wi-Fi my experience is it's hit or miss everywhere in the Philippines from big cities to small towns. It'll come down to the hotel or Airbnb owner and what service they have set up some of them have the cheap modem and service others have the more expensive option you have to check on that before booking. Unfortunately even in those cases sometimes the Internet is running slow. It really just depends.
You present as the true western man I know. He is his own person and looking for a woman he can relate to in so many ways. Not a giggling filipina who has no life experience other than learning the ropes to find a western man who will look after her and her family. Is there anything wrong with that...........absolutely no..........she will find him and the relationship will work as they are both leaning in the same lifestyle. The other guys, younger and more alert to the type of woman that will be a better match for him. The Philippines can provide all that western men desire.
It seems when people talk about Manila being nice it’s only ever Bgc they talk about. I did business in Manila for a long time & I really don’t like the place lol. The congestion, terrible internet even in good hotels, the whole feel isn’t that great compared to around other areas. That’s just me though. I really don’t want to visit there again apart from a stop over to somewhere else
Be careful in believing the narrative of women . I would be concerned that an attractive 25-30 year old woman has been run through by lots of guys and is now seeking a partner only because the biological clock is ticking and she’s burned out. I asked a 33 year old woman about that who admitted she had been partying since 18. Most women will just lie though.
So the younger you can go, the less chance she’s been run through. I think 18-21 is better and find a virgin if possible. The problem with BGC is that the girls there are successful and don’t want an old foreigner so you will have to find a girl from wider Manila who will of course be happy to live with you in BGC.

I don’t get the impression you do. In fact, I get the opposite impression. I believe Chad is on a personal adventure exploring the Philippines and learning the differences in its cities and provinces as well as the type of women in them. I believe Chad is honest with any woman he dates and doesn’t even date every place he goes. A playboy is often dishonest and tries to date as many women as possible and has no concern for their feelings. I don’t think Chad is that way. Of course I could be wrong and maybe Chad is a playboy. But, if I could be wrong, then you could be wrong too. To me, your logic is flawed. Your logic is that because Chad isn’t showing us a serious relationship he hasn’t had one AND because he hasn’t had one he is a Playboy. That is faulty in two ways. First, He may have had or may have a serious relationship: just because he doesn’t show it to us doesn’t mean he doesn’t have one. Second, even if he hasn’t had a serious relationship that doesn’t mean he is playing around. He could simply not have met the right one yet and may not be looking very hard anyway because he is traveling around so much. Though it is possible that you are correct and Chad is hiding his devious personal life from us, I don’t think you have evidence to support that. This means you are likely just a Troll.
@@ChadFosterExploresyou're better off embracing single life at your stage. I am several years younger than you and have a similar travel life. I have fun on Tinder and Bumble. Money is not the "only" thing, but it is the first requirement a male must meet. Just as for men the first requirement a woman must meet is beauty. Men don't ask women out they don't find attractive. Women won't give males a chance without first meeting the money requirement. A "foreigner" in PH already meets the money requirement. This business of saying its not ONLY about the money is dishonest. Even for actual gold diggers it isn't ONLY about the money. Kind of sick of hearing this ONLY about the money crap.
This Nick's Filipina thing. OK, super, she has a great job and can take of herself. So Nick doesn't have to worry about her or take care of her family. OK. But is that what Nick wants? Because it was sounding like she wanted to take care of Nick and have Nick lead. WTF does that mean? Sounds to me like it means her quitting her job and being with Nick. Sooooo doesn't that mean she won't be taking care of herself and it will be on Nick to financially care for her and her family. Not seeing the big upside here. In fact since she knows a higher standard of living I'd assume she's going to expect more from Nick than say a province girl who has never been to a Jollibee. Sounds kind of all mixed up and some delusion going on. Not saying she isn't a great Filipina and they won't be happy. Just the logic.
