I've lived in and traveled to over 45 countries and have dated their women long term and the Philippines by far is the best place for relationships. The women ask for so little but really make you feel so special and loved and this is most women that I meet here. Because of this I have forgone living in cleaner and more wealthy countries and instead take 6-8 international trips per year.
Iloilo, Davao, Bataan, Tagaytay, Baguio, Palawan, Siargao, etc. There are dirty places in any city in the world. You just have to explore and search for it.
Foreigner's move to the Philippines for the women there's nothing wrong with that the women want us here they need financial security, It comes down to supply and demand, A lot of guy's will say its the cost of living etc the Philippines isn't the cheapest country for foreigner's there's a lot better countries with a lower costs of living but they don't have the supply of women available. Why do i like the Philippines because of the reasons mentioned above.

O and how about Filipina vloggers, more skin and touchy content, with horny rich old guys! That will give them everything, just for looking at their skin, in bikinis! Arrived in Dumaguette last week from Australia, (newly retired) hoping I'll get used to the heat! I've learnt how to cross the road which is an achievement 😂
Exactly. The Philippines is the perfect place from which to take trips throughout Southeast Asia. We plan to retire there next spring . My wife has a house in Manila where we have our relatives living. That will be our home base while we find our perfect retirement location. Most likely Mendez/Taygaytay. Our first year will be spent traveling all over the Philippines. My wife never had the means to travel in her home country. It will be adventure for both of us. After we get into our new place we will start our adventures to Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong , Tokyo and more. We could never afford to travel from here in the states to all these locations.
Love Tagaytay! It's cooler and pretty place. I haven't been in several years though, so I'm wondering if they are over building it with commercial development etc.? I hope to go visit there in the near future. Best of luck!
Hello Chad. If I could afford to retire in Canada, I probably would never consider retiring in the [Philippines]. The infrastructure and generally quality of healthcare is far superior in Canada with exceptions being the main hospitals in Manila perhaps. I left Canada in 2011 for Japan due to lack of opportunities at the time in my profession and never returned. I was able to buy a house and land in Southern Shikoku for a small fraction of the cost in Vancouver. But owning a house and land is not everything. There have been sacrifices. Now, I simply could not afford to return to Canada since wages in Japan are far lower. That’s my reality. I’m in Japan already, so it will be much closer to just move to the Philippines when I retire, since Japan does not provide a retirement visa. Getting close to retirement age now at 62. David. [edit].
I'm pretty sure PH is the only country in Asia where an American can adapt conveniently. We've watched them come and go over the last 100 years 😂. Ultimately, relationships always depends on you. Some people would still be grouchy on any continent.
Hey Chad, I've been in Cebu since Dec 2023. I stayed in Thailand recently for 30 days (month of July 2024). Due to the quality of life and other issues, I will most likely make Thailand my new home base and travel Asia from there...
Good stuff, I'm happy for you. New adventures, Viet Nam, Thailand, PI. All have advantages buy like you say when you are over there all those countries are closer. Have fun!
as one who's been coming to the Philippines for 8 years now 4 months of the year each year.. always take any newbie's 'advice' with a big grain of salt .. especially when it's over the top positive because your perspective changes over time .. once the novelty of anything wears off .. then that's when reality hits .. warts and all
Filipina Wifey and I are Moving to the Philippines in 7 weeks and we cannot wait, selling it all and have some good pensions to boot. I got my 13A already here in the US and been planning this move for over a year. You hit on all the key points Chad and glad your going back as honestly the recent vlogs from Canada were not that interesting to me and Ghen. 🙃 Been to Thailand 3 times, Cambodia twice and Vietnam 3 times as well. Language barrier is little more difficult in those places. Excited to see your upcoming travel experiences, Safe travels bro!😃
That's awesome! Sounds like a great plan.yeah I have definitely been sidetracked away from making content since coming here spending most time with family and they want nothing to do with being on video for daily vlogs 😆 I will be kicking it back into gear more and more and will be boots on the ground overseas in a couple weeks 😎
new subscriber Chad, I also know the drawbacks of the Phils, but keep hoping that there is a certain place there that could be a right fit for me, I will check out more of your videos, maybe I will see you out there
Great advice Chad, im looking forward to seeing where this next asventure takes you. Just remember, when you visit Thailand, Vietnam etc you'll be in the honeymoon phase there too, you'll only know about thoae if you ever stayed in those countries long term too.
@kevcox5585, when I moved to Hawaii as a tourist I was treated great but when I moved there their, locals changed completely and u was a howley, very racist! At the Philippines they treat u as a friend!
All the best Chad! You had a great and smart approach in understanding Philippines, our women, people and culture! I'm excited on your next journey and stories!
The growth of this channel in a year is insane and Richly deserved. Please go back to that bar in Bohol with the cute dancing girls. You need to return and do a big long video there! It’s in panglao and you have to get a taxi there haha ;) great work bro. You are smashing it
Thanks I appreciate it, loving the journey! That place was a blast I'm sure I'll make it back there one day, great people worked there, super nice and friendly owners
He had to let it grow at the expense of filipinas he is dragging down and the Philippines by critiquing it so badly so he has money to support himself while staying in the country he hated the most. I wonder why he keeps coming back to this 3rd world country. Hoping that the Immigration could see his vlog and would stop renewing his visa like they did to a foreighner, critiquing the country while living there. Now, that guy is banned from entering the country. Goodbye.
Great video Chad ! I have done all the trips to those countries you mentioned, apart from Malaysia. I enjoyed the people and places, food, etc, but I was eventually drawn back to the Philippines, as I missed the easy communication, chat, smiling faces, friendliness, welcoming spirit, sense of humour and the beauty of Filipinas. Maybe it will be a different perspective for you, but I hope you have an exciting journey of discovery, as you explore new lands, and make new friends along the way.
Hey thank you! Yeah that is what most people say and that's been my experience so I would anticipate some similar feelings after exploring around but I'm excited to see what's out there just new experiences at a minimum 😎
Good video... I've been in Angeles City for 4 months. Retired in March. The first trip is in progress. Went to Cebu for 2 days, then Fast Cat boat to Tagbilaran, then on to Panglao Alona beach on a scooter. I'll be here for 5 days, simply beautiful here. Private boat for island hopping cost me 2,800 Pesos. What a life! Next on the Agenda is Panay Island, home of Iloilo, Roxas then to Boracay. 3rd trip to areas of Leyte, my Girl has a house 20 feet from the water. Swimming and fishing right out her door. One thing to me is important. Just don't travel alone. 2 things, its boring and for safety, its better in pairs. Doesn't do you any good to island hop by yourself. Wouldn't be fun at all.
The Philippines isn’t for everyone, it has its issues as a poor country. I’ve visited many countries…including 6 or 7 in S.E.Asia, and I’ve enjoyed spending time in all of them. I love Thailand and Vietnam and I’m happy in both, but the Philippines had an affect on me that nowhere else has. The people, the English language, ease of visas, the nature, and yes the better dating experience also. The pros far outweigh the cons, and I now spend most of my time there, while continuing to visit all the other nearby countries also.
Hi Chad, I Had a conversation with a friend of a friend that works for the Philippine Embassy in Vancouver, We were chatting about visas, As you know Philippine immigration is wanting in person interviews for visa extensions , He also mentioned that they are looking at and staying informed on how many YT are there on travel visa, and keep getting extensions, They are earning income from YT, and some are charging for consulting fees, membership fees, witch falls under working in the Philippines, And that said they should have a working visa, Is has not been enforced But in time it may be,
@@bradleymiller7375 not only that but they may want to control which information is disseminated. So needing a visa to work as a vlogger will enable them to clamp down on free speech which is not a Constitutional right in Asia.
Spot on Chad. I Def. Want a home base to launch from. Possibly Chiang Mai and head back to Ph's during smoke season late Feb. PH's is tugging me but need more time...i did get tried of IT Park and Ayala very fast tho. To new adventures! Cheers!
Asia gets boring very fast for me. The climate is not really conducive to my preferred highly athletic lifestyle. Not really a driving paradise. Actually I was in Target in Chula Vista, CA this past Saturday before my flight to Philippines. There was a very attractive blonde with light eyes who was assisting me and then I realized she was attracted to me (age 59). Female action is everywhere, not just in Asia. I am reminded of the famous book about the Philippines, "A long way to go for a date." Although it was interesting when a very hot pinay grabbed me when I first landed in Manila in the 1990s and pinned me against a wall and was passionately kissing me. I can not remember why I blew her off and did not hook up. As I remember I just walked away.
Fellow Canadian here, it feels like you’re on a holiday all the time when you’re in the Philippines. Been here for a long, long time from a very young age. I have lots of experience travelling in the world and I can tell you you better watch your ass in this country.
Chad, Just remember to 😄 Enjoy the Special Moments while you're back in the Philippines. 🇵🇭 Draw backs happen in every country. 🇨🇦 & 🇺🇲 So stick to the plan.🌴or just wing it. 🤣 Thumbs Up Brother.👍🏼 My Home Base is Cebu Island. ✈️ because of the conveniences. 💰
Chad its my turn this Aug30th.... headed there to try to live as expat, 1st stop is Boracay then head over to make my base in Cebu City. Thanks for all your input and feedback!
Yep been twice to Philippines after travelling to Mexico,Canada and US and after a 2 year break due to health ( niw ok ) l'm going back to Philippines again for l miss to sit back no hurry lifestyle.
Welcome back to the Philippines! While a lot of Filipinos are looking to migrate, here you are wanting to live here, so I admire you for that. I have heard your realizations and the pros and cons. You got it right. Choose well the location of your would-be residence. I would advise you to settle in a comfortable, cosmopolitan, clean modern, affluent BGC in Taguig City, or in Makati or the more reasonable Ortigas, Pasig City in Metro Manila, where you can also earn if not through employment, then through establishing businesses, and then just take a lot of vacations in our world-class Beach Resorts in Subic, Zambales, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Palawan & many more vaction sites. God Bless and guide you!
Good info. Living in Southern Ontario myself. A year from now I'll be getting closer to leaving for the winter months. Philippines and Vietnam are my interests, even though the islands of Thailand look amazing. Country hopping seems like a good idea.
Check Clark Global City that place is Preselling right now and 2 hours only from Manila. That place has International airport and it will become Urbanized. The light train will be operating next year that would only take 45 minutes to arrive in the Metropolitan. And that is our plan with husband as we are going back for good as we both retired now in US.
Haha, you got an adventurous spirit! It'll be fun to explore some other countries and I hope that you can find a special someone in PH (if you haven't already)! I think I read that foreigners are allowed to purchase a condo in PH (but only a condo). Is that right?
I am married to a Filipina and living in the US. When i retire in 10 years, we plan to spend 5 months a year in the Philippines. We also would like to explore the region from our house there. I am excited to see your videos of the countries near the Philippines.
Thank you, Chad! I plan to make my first trip to the Philippines this October-November to apply for the retirement visa (SRRV), and I value your perspective. I'm looking for greater economic freedom in my golden years and distinctly do NOT want to be in the US on (or anytime soon after) election day this November. All signs point to significant social unraveling here, no matter who wins the election. My wife of seventeen years isn't able to accompany me overseas (she retires next year); hopefully she'll follow once I've established a beachhead in this new frontier. I appreciate you!
Agree with you about pros and cons. City planning and building standards in the west is something I miss in the Ph. And since I'm from Europe I kinda miss the nice cities there, not just in the Ph. but in most parts of Asia that I've seen. Asian cities in my opinion are pretty bad places. Now, what we've "messed up" in the west is family and man-woman relationships. Unfortunately I think we're messing it up in the east too, so much scams/bs in the Ph. nowadays and no wonder. Young women in the province with good looks, they can now be "fb queens", post pics/reels filtered to make them look gorgeous, getting thousands of male followers in the west, but also guys from the ME/India/Pakistan. They're basically influencers with the money it brings. Before they'd just have been poor young women, living in the country side, that couldn't believe their luck if some ol' foreigner was interested, not so much anymore.
Absolutely. The ship sailed already. And with these vloggers making their living by encouraging a horde of expats to invade the Philippines, the opportunity will soon be ruined. The government will eventually become more opportunistic once they can see that their islands are in such high demand by expats. Same as Thailand, which decades ago used to be as easy as the Philippines.
Thanks for sharing ur throughts and process. While in Canada, u have been thinking whats next for yourself and ur delightful, informative channel! Im ready to go with u! Lets Go!
Choose a good simple Filipina but find it first who you are comfortable and compatible with. When feelings are mutual. Just a sis who wants people live the life they want peacefully joyfully and well. I think Filipinos are one of the happiest ppl on Earth.
Good information Chad 😊 I’ve been back from Cebu a month and I’m ready to go back and I’ve been twice this year 😂 Travelling around the areas outside the city is the best part as everything instantly becomes paradise Oh and I found out the night you and Mike had dinner in the quest I was upstairs and didn’t realise until the next day but of like to have met you both 😊
Hey man I have been currently living in Bangkok for the last 2 years and they language barrier it’s though! I’m actually from Spain and I was thinking in moving to Manila just because I have meet a lot of Filipinos and they seem so friendly and cost of living is almost the same!
Pros and Cons for everything...CORRECT........money solves 90% of the issues...........in any country. If u can buy any service e.g. legal, banking, utils, property, etc u can make the required lifestyle.
Saleslady in Robinson's Gensan asked me today if I was former military, as I was wearing that same green Converse Tshirt that seemed to cause the light-eyed blonde in Target, Chula Vista, CA to become attracted to me on Saturday. Yeah I had not changed clothes nor showered for 3 days. Typically shower every 4th month or so. Too busy.
Another option is Colombia: - - > I like : Medellin; and Ibague, Tolima. Temperatures 60 to 85 all 12 months. MDE has many excellent parks. Children entering high school are gifted free HP computers from the local municipal government. MDE is a 3 hour flight from Miami, Florida
Medellin has that perfect eternal spring climate, the best avocados in the universe and excellent facilities. Latin Americans are much more high class than Filipinos. Sort of akin to comparing ants and birds. But all that socialism in Latin America ultimately has a cost?
The riding is also far, far better in Thailand. I cant recommend enough staying a week or two in Chaing Mai, and doing the Pai run (half a day each way to a quaint mountain town with good accommodations), or better yet, the Mae Hong Son Loop (3-4 days). Plenty of info online about the latter. If you choose to visit the islands instead of the mountains (southern instead of nothern Thailand) then just exploring Samui or Krabi will provide amazing B-roll footage as both are super picturesque. I home based out of Thailand for about 4.5 years, had a long r/ship with a live-in gf, kept an apartment in Chiang Mai, but rode or drove or flew all over Thailand, leaving almost no stones unturned. Only when I understood I'd never be seen as or treated as an equal (Thai culture isnt a place of equals- its literally built in to the language, who has the higher status) and I was forever relegated to the human atm that I left and explored Cambodia (drugs and homeless way too pervasive, also no gyms), and then finally found the Philippines where I felt more welcome and better treated. Thailand is great for riding. Cambodia good for a few months to explore. But The Philippines is where I felt the most genuine comfort with the culture and my surroundings. Best of luck on your round 2. I will likely return to The P.I. in early to mid 2025 for a 1 year stay. Looking forward to it.
@@CerebralPrimate hey thank you for sharing all of that that it really painted a good picture of your experience and things to think about and expect for these different areas. I'm excited to take it all in! What you said about the Phillipines is true for me as well and I know it'll be hard to match that and that's what most people say. Cheers
Too many undersexed, overworked Westerners itching for attention and social interaction? I hope Chad understands that he is catering to essentially the analogous market as what Andrew Tate said his porn empire was essentially therapy for incels.
Simple. Just adjust to Filipino food, which can be excellent if home cooked. For example, pork soup with pechay, raw fish kinilaw, etc.. Food you can not even find in the USA nor Thailand, which I now miss when I am away from the Philippines. If you really must eat the boring American or British dishes, you can prepare these at home. Also areas of Philippines with many expats have restaurants that cater to our food. Also BurgerKing is in every major city in the Philippines now. Though no bacon at the General Santos branch last night, lol. Ban on pork imports in Mindanao right now. Yet I had all I could eat Korean at the GenSan Robinson's today for $8. Excellent.
Thanks Chad, I truly appreciate the reply. We will be exploring Northern Mindanao on our next trip Octobor thru December, and it is close by for sure!! Thanks again and congratulations on your extensive traveling through the Philippines, Jason & Maria
@@ChadFosterExplores Thanks for the additional tip Chad. Since 2007, I've had the privilege of previously living and traveling extensively throughout the Philippines for over 4 years, visiting numerous destinations including most of the areas of Luzon, Cebu, Negros, Palawan, Bohol, and many more that I can't even recall! Chad, the options are endless, and it can become overwhelming as I am sure you know. I've also lived and traveled in Thailand, Vietnam, and other countries, each with their pros and cons. However, when it comes to finding a life partner, I firmly believe that Filipinas make the best girlfriends, partners, and wives - if you take the time to find the right one. My approach has been to live with someone for at least three months, 24/7, to ensure compatibility, and then add another three months to be absolutely sure. This formula has worked for me, but everyone has their own approach, and that's what matters most - finding what works best for you. btw... it's always great to visit your home country for a short period of time, visit family and close friends and re-energize and consolidate your thoughts and adventures. Best of luck Chad, you do provide excellent information that people should take as being spot on or correct. Jason
SIR CHAD-WHY NOT TRY EXPLORING JAPAN- AM A FILIPINA PERMANENT RESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY--CAN TRULY TRULY TELL YOU -IT IS A VERY WONDERFUL , FASCINATING COUNTRY
Hey there thanks for that suggestion actually it's been on my radar for a while now and I'm sure it'll happen soon, I just chatted with a friend who is over there and he is raving about it
I enjoy your content, but may I suggest you pay more attention to background noise/sounds? It would make the listening much easier. I use ear buds to listen, so that's probably why I pick up more sounds than most. Just my thinking of how you might improve the listening experience.
I have my SRRV and moving there by the end of the year from Calgary to find a base and do the same thing. I’m Northern Irish and maybe see you on your travels . I’m aiming for end at latest end of October.
I've been in Phils as a home base since Nov 2023 so going on ten months. I still love it and I feel that I'm liking it better over time. How long is the honeymoon period supposed to last? Generally a positive person though..
Haha that's awesome, a positive mindset goes a long way, same with setting expectations right and really focusing on the great aspects of the Philippines, being patient or working around the other aspects.
I'm actually going back myself in October for 3 weeks and yes I'm definitely overthinking stuff too well more or so I met a girl I'm going to go back and see again I just worry a bit about it cause I'm in the middle of a divorce that should've taking place 4 years ago
Chad may I ask why go to the Philippines Again? Instead of trying other countries so you can compare them? If you only eat at one restaurant how can you know if you may like another one better? Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Etc...
Great video Chad. I'm currently a stones throw away from you (Wisconsin). I have the budget for a good life in the U. S. but having spent 3 months recently in the Philippines I'm torn where to home base. Food being my biggest problem in Philippines as I love to explore on a motorbike. It's extremely tough for me in the provinces to easily find palatable food. I'm anxious to hear your thoughts and decision on a "home" base. I'm thinking to do the same and travel back and forth to the U. S. Would love to ride with you. I have some areas to further explore and think a two bike partner would be much better. I'll be back Nov-March.
We are on the same page! That's my biggest challenge when I'm out exploring around the Philippines, I find it extremely difficult to find things to eat that I am happy about. The only real option is to go to the market and get fresh fruits vegetables and try to get the best quality meat or fish and cook yourself. I have a plan for this when I come back though as I don't see myself putting in the time and effort to do all of that cooking... Stay tuned I'm going to make a lot of content on this. by the way the thing that I did eat in the province and is pretty healthy is lechon manok rotisserie chicken I got those often with a little bit of rice and a veggie side dish if they had anything decent. I got tired of it but that was my go-to meal. yeah I agree doing some rides with others is fun… Stay in touch 😎
@@ChadFosterExplores lol. I can eat anything in the Philippines. You guys are too finicky. I stopped roadside yesterday and ate the chopped up intestines of the pig and a couple of pork chops.

Hey Chad, what did you do with your scooter now you're in Canada? And do you have ph driving license? Im coming over to ph soon and will stay 6 months. I will purchase a scoot but im not allowed to drive more than 90 days on a tourist visa. Getting the license is a real hassle i heard. I might have to do a visa run for another 90 days. How did you solve this issue. Thx in advance. Looking forward to your new vids.
What I was told is you're not allowed to use your foreign drivers license for more than 90 days... it was a bit of a hassle to get a Phillipines drivers license but more in the sense of time and waiting and little runaround stuff... it took about a week because of some unexpected setbacks. I did it in Cebu city. If you do not have a motorcycle endorsement on your foreign drivers license that is what becomes more of a hassle. But it's doable. I left my scooter at my friends house I'll be going back there soon to get it
@@ChadFosterExplores thanks Chad. I have a full A motorlicense. Not sure what the equivalent is for the Canada/US. I'm from the Netherlands. The thing that worries me is that I seem to need to have a 6 month visa extension to get the ph license. I'm not sure if they give them at the bureau of immigration nowadays.
I'd say the same as looking for a regular relationship, online dating or boots on the ground. My friend posted his online profile stating clearly what he was looking for for a short vacation in the Philippines and he traveled with a great girl
There are two things that set Philippines apart from the rest of the countries I Southeast Asia. The visa policy of the Philippines. I don't think there are any country in the world that has that visa policy and secondly, the Filipino people speak English, almost 85 percent speak English
I'm 60, and single. I don't want to date a grandmother here in the USA. I want to date someone in their 30s. So it's only Philippines or Thailand for me. I really like Thailand much better for the food and infrastructure. Visit Hua Hin.

There is only one reason to move to the Philippines and that is to find a quality girl. I have been here for 5 years and own a condo in Cebu city. When someone is in forever wanderer mode and can't find/commit to one high-quality live-in girlfriend and sign a long-term rental contract then their understanding of the Philippines is going to be very limited and under developed.

Chad remember I am the American who lived in the Philippines from age 25 in 1990 to 2020. And I applauded you for adopting the term "honeymoon phase" which is the term all us OGs employ. We also use the term "virgin" to describe those still in that phase. Your summary in this video is excellent but from my perspective there is a major factor which you totally failed to cover. What about the likelihood of vax mandates and another round of insane lockdowns for the looming mpox? My right to control my own body is non-negotiable. Foreigners have no rights to resist edicts in Asia. Asians obey authority. For me this is too huge a risk right now. I am in the Philippines again now, but only for a visit. I prefer the freedom and Constitution we have in the USA and also Mexico is hands off policy from the government. Asia is very authoritarian.
@@ChadFosterExplores thanks for enabling others to read it. I hope I am wrong about that.🤞A taxi cab driver in Davao told me today they know it was all a scam and the former Prez was brain washed by the medical lobby. Their city wide collective of all drivers in the city says they will not obey next time. I hope that is not just bluster. David.

Have fun!

Taking the leap in less than 2 weeks. Flying out on Aug 28th to Cebu
Heck yeah! Enjoy the adventure
We are very happy to welcome you back to our humble country of the Philippines. Good luck with all your adventures. Always be safe out here.

I am reminded of the famous book about the Philippines, "A long way to go for a date."
Although it was interesting when a very hot pinay grabbed me when I first landed in Manila in the 1990s and pinned me against a wall and was passionately kissing me. I can not remember why I blew her off and did not hook up. As I remember I just walked away.
Looking forward to hearing about your new potential home base in the Philippines.
Wherever you go, you look for yourself there.
I think the key is knowing yourself before you move to the Pi and then your expectations are within your wheelhouse

Well said and some great points you made I appreciate it
Sounds like a good plan. Cheap prices to all your destinations. Vietnam will be very interesting.

I have 20 years experience working and living overseas. I’m looking forward to my Philippines retirement adventure.

Yeah that's a big drawback for sure for me too but I have a plan and I'm going to make content around this it's a big thing for me...
Excellent.

Great video Chad. I'm currently a stones throw away from you (Wisconsin). I have the budget for a good life in the U.
What I was told is you're not allowed to use your foreign drivers license for more than 90 days... it was a bit of a hassle to get a Phillipines drivers license but more in the sense of time and waiting and little runaround stuff... it took about a week because of some unexpected setbacks.
Good and fair point thanks for sharing...
P.S. my formerly perfectly healthy mother developed Parkinsons from that f-ing sh8t.
