This interview was great. Not only this man speeks English with more depth and expressiveness than average Canadian (esp. Ontarians) but he gives voice to things that are more substantial. Scott, not sure how I ran up on your channel but I started from the last video you posted and this was the fourth one I've watched in a row. Wow! This was the video that compelled me to buy you some cups of coffee! Not to mention, the interviewee was dropping F-bombs left and right, and so I know it's possible this one will get the monetized 🤣 I was worried at first when the guy started talking about 'identifying as a man', but the way he explained why he was saying that and when he was talking about made the hesitancy go away. This is a great video man! I was raised by a single mother who was a concert pianist. I so resonated with this guy on so many different levels, especially his love of the arts and music. I will be reaching out to you for a consultation because I'm convinced that the Philippines is the first place I need to put boots on the ground (it was this video that was truly and sincerely, the nail in that coffin) leaving the states for good, sooner than later! The way he broke down the value that a Filipina can bring to the table.....dude....this was a 'next level's video! Wow!

I didn't occur to me until just now. There may still be French speaking ladies in Viet Nam.
I lived in St Paul in the 80s. There were all of these French Bakeries, so I took my brother out one Saturday. We walk in and the place was filled with cigarette smoke - all these old Vietnamese were hanging out drinking coffee and smoking, at least two dozen of them. I shouldn't have been shocked. I loved it!

Hi Chad, I love this guy and his insights! A true Canadian. IMO, here’s a real person who has had lots of time to contemplate and think about life. Surely he has had great periods of solitude in his life. Something we all can benefit from. He’s had more than his share of hard times and this has allowed much time for personal growth. He says it like it is which is wonderfully freeing (something I struggle to get my students in Japan to do). I want to meet real people like him in the Philippines.

Excellent interview…it’s rare to hear insights from a man like this and I found his commentary regarding Filipina women to be beyond fascinating. I would love to hear his insights about Vietnamese women and a compare & contrast between the two cultures (insofar as women are concerned …their perspectives, their desires, etc)…I am considering both countries for retirement and relationship and would really appreciate that type of insight (Vietnamese vs. Filipina). To the gentleman you have just interviewed Chad, I personally do believe that there's someone for every one. Maybe that someone has not crossed his path yet because he is not yet ready, because pure relationship should be coming from inside (heart ). Maybe it would be advisable for him to pray to God (if he is a believer), and for the meantime, he just enjoy life, doing what he is passionate doing. He needs to have a woman who , more or less, has the same passion, characteristics (traits) as him, to complement himself. I think you need a relationship that is based on love, not on attraction. Good luck Sir, LOVE should not hurried.

Hands-down, the best video I have ever seen about living in the Philippines. Both encourages me and gives me pause. I truly appreciate the honesty. I also truly appreciate that this guy is an artist the way I am. And a nice guy the way I am. We are the oddballs. Perhaps sigma males, definitely not alpha males. And often women do not appreciate that. They appreciate the noisiest monkey in the bunch.

As a Canadian living in the Philippines, I enjoyed this interview very much. I have some experience with French people in Canada and I have found them to be very emotional and with short fuses. One moment they will be angry as hell and 5 minutes later laughing their heads off. l agree with him when he says if you are wealthy, do not come to the Philippines. With enough money you can bring your Filipina to Canada and if she leaves you just bring another one who might be better.
And there’s so many more guys like that. I’m sure many guys out there recognize how they don’t feel compatible with the average guy from the west and what people expect from typical guys from the west.
And yes, those guys often get just friend zoned. Never stay where you are not appreciated and go where you are wanted 💪🏼👍🏼

intersting interview chad. Ive read some of the comments and i couldnt care less if he is homosexual or not. I enjoyed listening to him. I am interested to know if you have found many filipinas aged 35 or so that are still in shape and attractive. I was married to a filipina for 20 years in the US. I still like her a lot and have a lot of respect for her. The relationship faltered but it was never hateful. However, neither her of her friends ever stayed in shape. Terrible diet and no desire to exercise. I would love to meet another filipina when i move to the PI next year. But, one that exercises and eats better. What has been your experience around this topic?
It's an interesting point you make, just my own observations I would say it seems like the majority of Filipinas I see as they get into their later 20s and beyond do carry a fair amount of extra weight and I do see that the diet here for the majority is not healthy at all and there is an overall lack of focus on exercise or desire for exercise.
Good man, I think a mature filipina would suit him, they like to take care of things and he could focus on his art and music passions. Also he needs a caring person that won't abuse his sensitive nature. Some of us are not into the manly or controlling thing, just want to enjoy what we like and live in peace.

I thin k this is my new favourite channel! Great interview. However, it has to be mentioned ... my SIX (6) downsides of living long-term in a country in SE Asia is:
(1) foreigners can't own land
(2) foreigners can't become naturalized citizens
(3) foreigners can't gain citizenship by marrying a local
(4) legal obligation to support not just your Asian spouse but her entire family (absolutely ridiculous!!!)
(5) visa and residency restrictions for foreigners (that all seem to change constantly and, sometimes, without warning!)
(6) new tax policies against foreigners (which you're seeing in Thailand right now)
In almost all countries in Europe an Latin America (LATAM) all these 6 "downsides" are non-existent, especially foreigners from UK, Australia, NZ, Canada and USA.
Not only that, but in LATAM, you not only don't have these downsides, but you also have the many of the advantages of SE Asia women, namely:
(1) love of family and traditional values (none of t his woke nonsense you find in the "West")
(2) older men with younger women is the norm (and are encouraged!)
If you marry a local in most LATAM countries, citizenship is more or less guaranteed. For instance, marrying a Brazilian citizen will allow you to acquire Brazilian citizenship in just one year of residence in that country. Argentina is also 1 year. Now, in Brazil foreigners can't own property. But that's OK because, once you marry a local Brazilian lady, after one year you get citizenship and you can now own land in Brazil. This is not the case in the Philippines, Thailand et al because you can neither never become a citizen NOR can you ever own land!
And if you don't like Brazil (for one reason or another), once you have Brazilian citizenship you can move to Uruguay, Paraguay or Argent6ina as all 4 countries allow each other's citizens to live, work and study visa-free in each other's countries. (My choice would be Uruguay: less crime, and more tax - and business-friendly. And if you happen to be gay - although I'm not - and are a same-sex couple, both Brazil and Uruguay have legalized both, so you're good to go there too!)
And there is one extra benefit to marrying a LATAM lady ... most have family ties to Portugal or Italy. Once you marry a Portuguese or Italian citizen, you are entitled to that citizenship (whichever it happens to be ... or both if she has both) and, after just 3 years of marriage, you are also entitled to receive citizenship of Portugal and/or Italy ... which are both EU countries which again, would open up many doors of opportunity if you ever wanted to live, work or study in any EU country. Likewise, all your children would get those citizenships as well.
But why would your children need more than 1 passport, you might ask? Because, the more citizenships they have, the more opportunities they have in the future. If you're a Canadian and your wife is Brazilian and Italian but your children are all born in Uruguay ... well, you're children would get 4 passports and citizenships right at birth. They could all be raised in Uruguay for their first 18 years and then one of them decides that they would like to study in the USA. Instead of going through the hassle of applying for a student visa with their Brazilian, Italian or Uruguayan passport, they could simply get I-20 student clearance on their Canadian passport and study visa-free in the USA at a University or other training institution (all Canadian citizens can do this; study in the USA without a student visa; I know ... I did it myself!)
Then, another child wants to accept a job in Germany. Well, as an Italian-EU citizen, they don't need a visa to work or live there. So they are free to apply for that job. And then that company that hired them, 5 years later, wants to open an office in Canada. And as your child is a Canadian citizen, their company will hire your child to run that company as that child wouldn't have to jump through the same hoops as an EU citizen setting up a company in Canada.
Do you get the idea? It's a gift you can give to your child and a gift that money just can't buy: massive opportunities for their future success. (As you can see, I've thought this whole thing out; to me, marrying someone from your home country and having your children born in the same country is such a waste, and yet this is how 99.99999% of people do the relationship and family "game". Your child will always be your citizenship and your wife's citizenship ... and to give them an even bigger leg up, have them born in a third, unrelated country, thereby giving them 3 citizenships right out of the vagina!
(NOTE: Not all countries recognize birth citizenship so do your research. For example, Ireland will only allow children born in their country - or Northern Ireland, UK - to acquire Irish citizenship if at least one parent is either Irish or British. So a married Polish couple giving birth in Ireland, without Irish citizenship, means that their child will NOT be an Irish citizen ... as I say, do your own research ... but do it because your research will pay off for your children and. their children.)
"What a filipina can bring to the table has so much value that his money is nothing", it's priceless.
AND the wrong Filipina will suck your soul and wallet dry.

Filipinos are resilient, that's right! We have the saying: "Tawanan mo lang ang iyong problema". It means just laugh at any problems coming to you. That's why as a Filipino we always smile even though most of us have struggles in life or encounter hardships. You cannot blame anyone or the government . That's already written in the Bible and struggles around the world will get worse. We cannot avoid that. Getting angry at other people because you have personal problems or struggles will not help you. It will only make you sick or you will get old easily. I hope the coming generation of Filipinos will stay like this. Have a nice day!

Anyone and everyone over 50 should go to the Philippines. It's like the CFL was for the NFL, love it (no shade on the CFL, of course). If you are a young man, stay in the North America or Europe. This is the way it is, and if you don't think so, do some research.

Finally a honest man view point, if you have money there are many better places to live. He just missed the fact the food is very average I'm a foodie and Thailand, Vietnam are the places to go. Would love to meet a Filipina however hope she ok to move I can't live in a 3rd world country.

Philippines IS A GREAT PLACE IF YOUR READY FOR PEACE OF MIND IN YOUR LIFE.
I look for priceless things. Acts of kindness and care are indicative of these things. I may come to the Philippines to seek a relationship. I've traveled for love but found it a trap. Honeytrap. I won't want to own or be owned except by love itself as Jesus displayed it. I'm a clairvoyant. It's not about money but warnings of danger when it's near. It's a kind of a God protection I don't control. It has saved many lives so far. They didn't know about each other.

I love the people here and so much things surpassing what annoys me in the west that i may end up having a nice home near the sea here and an other in vietnam ... who knows ? Im still on a young journey with this new life. I give myself time ...

To make things a bit more clear here :
I WAS broke back in my younger days so struggling with women ( that i would have really want) as a consequence was one thing. I'm not a wealthy westerner (ex 1 mil assets + in the west which isn't that much...kust need to own a block) but I'm OK / good with $ NOW and it puts me in the top 10% if not up in Asia / in the Philipines. Back home, i can't afford life as good as in the philipines / Asia
People confuse my past with my present in here when it comes to $ as well as girls. It should have been explained maybe but whatever...
As a music producer for independent artists in Quebec, even if this is not that lucrative, it has status and, i csn make a full time living of thst remotely traveling Asia or anywhere i can afford. So i can still attract much younger in the west TODAY, but those rareties are audacious/curious girls m or with daddy issues HAHAHA
ALOSI, There is a gap in the story here: 15 years ago, at 40, i was sugning autographs to 18 20 girls ...my band was making the cover of magazines back home. Like ...huuuuuuge succes !
But im still this sensitive, good chubby guy. Here in Asia and in the philipines especialy, is another level when it comes to the dating pool available to ANYONE !! My God !!!! I heard it saw it on TH-cam during covid but it is insane here !
And women that really appreciate guys that don't fit the conventional 'how should be a man in the west', which I dint give a fuck to identify with, these women are legions in the phils. And as mentioned, the wage gap is a huge thing yes, but the 115 millions population of tis country gives us more options .
Hope this clears out the gaps in my story here for those trying to figure out.

I WAS broke back in my younger days, so struggling with women that i would have really wanted a consequence was one thing. I'm not a wealthy Westerner (ex 1 mil assets + in the west, which isn't that much... someine just need to own a block for that). So... even if im not weakthy intuevwesy, I'm OK / good with $ NOW, and it puts me in the top 10% if not up in Asia / in the Philipines. Back home, i can't afford life as good as in the philipines / Asia
People confuse my past with my present in here when it comes to $ as well as girls. It should have been explained maybe, but whatever...
As a music producer for independent artists in Quebec, even if this is not that lucrative, i can make a decent living of that and remotely while travelling Asia (or anywhere i can afford)
ALOS, There is a gap in the story here: 15 years ago, at 40, i was signing autographs to 18 20 girls ...my band was making the cover of magazines back then. Like ...huuuuuuge succes !

Yes its true filipino.yes it's true no matter what storm comes in our lives. in the philippines. we can stand because there is God. who is our companion. prayer. the most important of all. because. we are just visitors here in the world. Sir, just continue your life. Even if you are poor in Canada, you are rich in our God.

Other than like Monte Carlo, I could retire anywhere that I like....and what I like is The Philippines. I was stationed there back in the 80s and have been back many times over the decades.
He is correct in pointing out, rightly so, that living in the PI is not for the faint of heart if you're coming from a first world country. There is poverty around nearly every corner, along with garbage. And if you get squeamish about folks with bad birth defects and such, begging on the street, well this country may not be for you. Life is definitely hard for folks in the PI.
Having said that, the people are the happiest people on the planet by far. And he is correct how being around that is healing. The Filipinos make me better and that's largely why I keep going back. They're simply amazing in this regard. I think that the food is good also but I'm easy to please in this regard. Vietnam and Thailand have far superior options when it comes to great food though. Anyhow, if you're not a patient person, you're not going to like living in the PI, unless you let the place change you. You'll have to be the one to adapt though.
