Chris, your weekly stories are the only TH-cam videos that I make full screen. So well made, never boring, always interesting. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Orangie is such a legendary Jeep, he should have a badge of honor, having driven the circumference of the earth 7.5 times, 90% of which on two track. 🙏
Your videos are amazing! The quality and clarity is top notch. I don't think a movie studio could do much better. Thank you for all the wonderful scenery you share with us. My wife is tickled to death that you are now sharing your life with Shannon. Take care!
I think we sometimes forget the effort it takes to set up those long distance shots of the Jeep navigating switchbacks and mountain roads....well done. Beautiful country this week.
Chris, your driving skill and the capability of the Rubicon make these roads look effortless! I’m sure they are not . If these videos aren’t the worlds best Jeep commercials, I don’t know what is! Jeep owes you a new Ruby, but when the time comes, I will be very sad to see this iconic JK go. And my wife is now on a quest to find baked cheese .🧀
My interest in TH-cam channels comes and goes but yours is one I've watched every week without fail for years. If I miss an episode I go back to catch up. Keep up the great work.
Chris, thank you for this awesome adventure we really enjoyed watching it. It reminded us of all your old ones. We are so happy for you and your new love. Now to see you come back to your real old adventures.... we are so thankful. keep up the wonderful works Chris.... love what you do.
Chris, holy cow! This was one of your all time best. Man, those Aspen trees were gorgeous. Please be careful, ya billy goat. If you take a spill off those rocks you're alone to get out alive. Keep up these adventures brother, I'm living vicariously through you until I'm healed up and can travel to Colorado myself. Thank you for keeping my dream alive.
"Barn Find" = Most jeeps that are on the trail and lived in 90% of the time. I like to think of them as a "rustic cabin with an attached barn find". Good humor and another great video.
This was awesome Chris! As you were on the rocky road I was thinking, man he has a lot if confidence in that Jeep. It must have 150k by now! 187!!!! Love your Colorado adventures!! Keep em coming! 🥾🥾😁
Shontz- PLEASE tell me you were standing in front of a blue screen at 3:59??!! That backdrop is just too perfect! You look like a tv weatherman about to tell us of an incoming cold front!! 😜😜😜 And WE LOVE EVERY BIT OF IT!!!
It has been great seeing your overall wear and tear on your jeep. You have done a great job with maintenance and show how you can use it for a long time!
We live in Mancos CO. When viewing your show, we think you were on what we call the 'boulder field' just below Helmut Peak. Nice to see you in our neighborhood, so to speak.
You take quite a bit of time to do video work that turns out amazing. I always think you have a crew with you holding the camera! Keep up the adventure!
Only 187,234 miles, Shucks you just getting her broke in. It would be interesting to know how many of those mile have been off road. To think that she has held up as well as she has knowing all the places you have taken her is a testament to your off roading skills and the ruggedness of the Jeep. Here's to another 200,000 miles in Orangie! Again I think that Jeep should team up with you and come out with a whole line of Chris Shontz Jeeps complete with tent camper etc. They would make a ton of money! Orangie should be placed in the Smithsonian Museum once you retire her. She is and American Icon, as are you Chris!
I saw you in Durango the other day (we were driving opposite directions or I'd have tried to say hello). I live in DGO. Glad you enjoy exploring the area - it's special. I love watching your adventures and hope you continue to find fulfilment in sharing your exploration with us.
What a ridge hike! Awesome slo-mo waterfall shot! I thoroughly enjoy your adventures into the less known places-so much serenity and beauty! I do miss the desperate weekend pizza finds from your earlier years-hope you are still getting to enjoy them! “I dig it”
Swap to Fox shocks/ upgrade from the new jl. I find them new on Craigslist from people that do lifts and get them with all 4 shocks and steering stabilizer for like $250. I did those on my wj jeep and my buddies 2 inch lifted jk sport
The quality of work you put in your videos are epic. Wish they could be longer, but understand the time it takes to produce an adventure of this quality.
Nice job, Chris. Picking up our Sportsmobile from Timberline vans in Golden on the 17th (lift and 4WD v=conversion) and heading out to the San Isabel NF for a couple weeks. Maybe we'll see you out there.
Thanks for sharing Chris, the quality of your work is much appreciated. I am full timing my life presently in a Four Wheel Camper mounted in my pickup in Minnesota. I’ve enjoyed traveling the mountains in the past, thanks again. Adventure on!
Another great video Chris thank you! I really enjoyed the country the views were fantastic! I just noticed, and must have missed, or don't recall you mentioning your jeep going from Pennsylvania plates to Texas plates.
Outstanding video Chris. So many quaint little towns in the San Juan's. You could spend a couple of months there and barely scratch the surface. Safe travels man...
We recently traded in our Texas tags for PA tags. I miss our summer camping trips up to Colorado. Next summer it will be time to introduce the kids to camping up in the Adirondacks.
Yet another awesome episode! If I ever get to explore Colorado I would have a hard leaving, I would be too preoccupied with climbing all those beautiful 14ers
Have you ever considered going to the larger but midsize propane tank? Just thought about it when you hooked your stove up. Maybe something new to try.
Great video Chris. That ridge walk reminds me of a similar one I've done in Snowdonia National Park in Wales called Crib Goch. It's a ridge that leads up to the summit of Snowdon.
Ooh you discovered juusto! Makes my nordic heart happy. Juusto is the finnish name for it. The other is the Swedish. Great stuff. Kiipis! (Cheers in finnish)
I've enjoyed your videos for a long time. It's too bad the amount of positive comments in every video never reflect the amount of "likes" your uploads deserve.
the channel Chris, have you thought or already been in the Saguache Colorado area? Not a lot of the San Juan vistas and above timberline views but little traffic, lots of cool stuff and interesting history. Just a thought.
Woohoo Chris! Thank you for the great content! If you are ever through Kansas, stop at the rhubarb market in Hillsboro, KS! Best coffee and great service!
Chris, your videos are fantastic. What’s funny is that I was born and raised in Sweden, and your “Juusto” cheese package has a Swedish flag on it. But I’ve never ever seen that cheese in any stores in Sweden, or ever heard of it. The name implies that it’s from the region of Sweden that borders Finland, so maybe it’s local to there. 🤷♂️ But now I have to look for it next time I go back to Sweden 😀
187000 miles, and no major repairs is pretty good. I have noticed that you upgrade as components have done their job which is a great way of maintaining this type of vehicle.
Man the ridge walk at the end, made my sphincter tighten.
Absolutely agree!
I love watching you do technical terrain in the Jeep.
Great video. Your scenery shots are outstanding. You put in alot of effort for the angles of your shots. Thanks for the awesome point of veiw.
Thanks for takin us on another breathtaking journey.... you never disappoint...
Scenery was Spectac! Wondrous ridge walking! Annnd another great ‘foody’ tip!
That ridge hike needs nerves of steel. Thanks for the great content as always
My interest in TH-cam channels comes and goes but yours is one I've watched every week without fail for years. If I miss an episode I go back to catch up. Keep up the great work.
Nice country. Thanks for sharing. It’s a pleasure to watch without music obliterating natural sounds. Cheers 👍🏻🙏🏽😷🦘
God bless Jeep Orangey! He takes you/us to the best locations!💖💖👍💖💖
Can’t wait to retire and hit the road like you Chris. Great video!
same here
I just pulled the trigger and retired as of 12/31/20. 60 years old. At the end of the day, you only live once...why spend it sitting behind a desk???
Chris, thank you for this awesome adventure we really enjoyed watching it. It reminded us of all your old ones. We are so happy for you and your new love. Now to see you come back to your real old adventures.... we are so thankful. keep up the wonderful works Chris.... love what you do.

Colorado always so beautifull.
"Barn Find" = Most jeeps that are on the trail and lived in 90% of the time. I like to think of them as a "rustic cabin with an attached barn find". Good humor and another great video.
Great job again Chris! The San Juans are SO accessible because of all the old mining roads. Jeep country for sure. Never stop exploring!
Absolutely beautiful! Love your videos
This was awesome Chris! As you were on the rocky road I was thinking, man he has a lot if confidence in that Jeep. It must have 150k by now! 187!!!!
Love your Colorado adventures!! Keep em coming! 🥾🥾😁
Another great video Chris. That look when the truck drove by was priceless.
Yes, this video has some incredible views to enjoy - love those mountains in Colorado
Nice edit on this one. The blue wildflowers really stood out. You need a tire plug kit. It has saved me a couple times.
Shontz- PLEASE tell me you were standing in front of a blue screen at 3:59??!! That backdrop is just too perfect! You look like a tv weatherman about to tell us of an incoming cold front!! 😜😜😜 And WE LOVE EVERY BIT OF IT!!!

Excellent!!! We Prescott area peeps, want to meet you next time you drop in for repairs at Jessie's shop...
We live in Mancos CO. When viewing your show, we think you were on what we call the 'boulder field' just below Helmut Peak. Nice to see you in our neighborhood, so to speak.
By far, the best video you've put out, Chris. Your drive footage was amazing!
Be careful Chris. The rocky, craggy ridge you were hiking along looked pretty dicey! I love your videography. Top notch! Be well.
Gorgeous scenery and a wonderful winding trail, thank you.i may have to watch this twice!
I so enjoy your adventures. It seemed in this episode that you were driving those high mountain roads faster than you normally do.
Fantastic photography!!!

Good video 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🤗
Longtime follower and it is good to have you back in the house!! Love your videos!!
Awesome video! You have a bigger set than me climbing around those peaks. Keep up the good work.
WOW! New camera?? What detail!
Just found that cheese at H-E-B here in Texas. Warming it up as I type this. Thanks for that!
Hey Chris, another great episode. Makes me want ti load up and head east to the San Juans. Hopefully I will see you in Flagstaff for expo.
As always Chris your videos are good new scenery new places a few surprises. 👍👍😀🇨🇦
Nice job, Chris. Picking up our Sportsmobile from Timberline vans in Golden on the 17th (lift and 4WD v=conversion) and heading out to the San Isabel NF for a couple weeks. Maybe we'll see you out there.
Amazing views!
Chris, great vids and stories!
Thanks for sharing Chris, the quality of your work is much appreciated. I am full timing my life presently in a Four Wheel Camper mounted in my pickup in Minnesota. I’ve enjoyed traveling the mountains in the past, thanks again.
Adventure on!
Great video! Never get tired of looking at that scenery.
Another great video Chris thank you! I really enjoyed the country the views were fantastic! I just noticed, and must have missed, or don't recall you mentioning your jeep going from Pennsylvania plates to Texas plates.
After being out on the back country tacos are an excellent treat! ✌🏽🏜️
I love that area up La Plata Canyon.
Do you ever find, that you’d like to just stay put, for a few days & nights and just enjoy that spot ?
I always wondered the same thing. I think I would be tempted to post up for multiple nights at some of the places he goes to.
Yeah I think the same thing, especially some of those epic spots. I would just stay there a few days and enjoy.
He seems to find epic spots constantly. So probably in his mind, it's as if he never does leave.
Chris was that a little OCD with the woodpile in that old building.. lol.. as always great content..such beautiful country.
Really enjoyed your adventures in Colorado. Great Video!
Have a great day.
Outstanding video Chris. So many quaint little towns in the San Juan's. You could spend a couple of months there and barely scratch the surface. Safe travels man...
Best video yet, Chris. Beautiful, well narrated, fantastic videography. TH-cam needs a companion tag to “Watch Later” - “Watch Again”…!
Good one man! Awesome scenery. Can't wait to pack up and go myself.
1. Dang that cheese is expensive...but I ordered some anyway 🧀 2. When you were walking on that rocky spine I got the shivers and vertigo!!
Great video once again. Wow, the scenery, awesome! Please don't go risking your life on the top edge of a mountain, just send the drone instead ;)
Bravo. Simply Bravo! Just started plotting my next trip to San Juans. Thanks Chris. I just needed a nudge...
great video
What a sunset .
Another great one Chris! I very much enjoyed this one. Your friend in Pennsylvania. Bob
We recently traded in our Texas tags for PA tags. I miss our summer camping trips up to Colorado. Next summer it will be time to introduce the kids to camping up in the Adirondacks.

Great video thank you!
@ 14:03 how cool, I live in Joplin Missouri

Straight up 👍

i was waiting for a new v4wd vid today!
just look for Bread Cheese, most grocery stores carry it, not that brand maybe, but very similar.
Looks like Orangie now calls home Texas.
....and also, as an Office fan...Parkour! (19:36).
