Hey Chris, Nice Video. That's awesome that you got out on Kite Lake in the dark, very cool. We are the ones that flagged you down to chat when you were headed up, as we were headed down into Silverton. Cheers.
Always nice to watch your videos when we can’t get out there for a while. Also because you don’t put music on so we can experience a bit of the serenity of the area. And just hear the sounds of the jeep.
I took my Power Wagon up there last October and camped in the area for a week. A few day-trippers in side-by-sides during the day, but we had the entire area to ourselves at night. The solitude was bliss.
So funny! I got the Seinfeld reference. That was a funny episode. Great show. Always look forward to your weekly adventures. Chris your channel to me is top notch. My favorite channel for sure.
Thank you for being so gracious on sharing you beautiful camping spot. We wanted to say hi, but didn’t want to invade more than we had. Sorry it took so long for us to get the Jeep level. Hopefully our kids weren’t to loud.
It's interesting seeing that you're exploring the very trails I just came back from. CO is a great place for sure. Wish I could have stayed longer. Stoney Pass, Imogene and BBP were my favorite.
Chris, I found the Carr Valley bread cheese in my grocery store and bought some based on your last video. I wonder how many others did the same? Hope you and Shannon are doing well!
Big fan of yours. I ran into a couple more fans at a Panera in Sunset Hills, MO this morning. They were sitting in their jeep that had a rooftop tent. Very small world.
That looks an awful lot like Kite Lake! Absolutely beautiful there. Didnt get a chance to go to it on this year's trip, and honestly we really didn't want the pin stripes on our brand new Rubicon. Next year though!
A great adventure. Hadn’t thought of going out on my kayak at night. Seems it would be kind of scary. Check out the areas around South Park and 11 Mile. Lots of good adventure roads. Should be low smoke this week in Colorado. 🍻
Chris thanks for not hauling through the water, then doing it again in slow motion, then in reverse slow motion, then back through. Nice to see a grown-up every once in a while.
These trips seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Base camp must be something special to race to lately. Showing a fist hand sign at other riders passing you means the trail is clear of riders after you. If you are the point rider in the pack then you would show the number of riders behind you then a fist. For example, 5 riders including you would be five fingers then a fist.
@@JayDee25895 Same thought here. But, as someone else said, if it makes Chris happy, that's great. As for liking the channel, I liked it better last year when I recommended it to my family.
@@jacksak I agree. This year's videos are so much better and keep getting better. I think it's the area that he's at. Sometimes there's not a lot of exciting things to film. Although Chris it's very predictable and shows patterns in his personality through film.

Hey. Love your videos. We are heading up to Silverton Buena Vistas. 23 Sept. We have a Rubicon. How do you find the areas that you are dispersed camping on? We are in Texas and just dont understand where we can and cant camp dispersed in Colorado.
As always, awesome video. QUESTION: I have watched and taken notes on your adventures but one thing I cannot seem to find is your off-grid power supply. I remember you talking about it once but forgot where that was. What do you use for power (if anything)? I notice a fridge, camera equip and editing machines including a computer. If you are willing to divulge (and it is understandable if not) your power supply can you say if it is adequate? Keep up the awesome work!
Basic rookie question.... when others were passing you headed in the opposite direction, I saw the "raised closed fist" being used. What does that mean? Tnx.
I love your content and videos. I do have a question for you though. You seem to spend a lot of time in bear country and don't really talk about it. What do you do for food storage and personal safety in bear country?
Looking at the lakes, rivers and streams I will repeat what others have said, get a fishing pole! 19 minutes later, the Patreon lure hooked me. I guess I’m the fish! Lol.
Lol, it is in the Funtreks book. This year was our first time going there and it will be on the list to do yearly. Very nice area, surprised to not see any moose video footage as we saw 3 of them in the stream a couple of weeks ago.
I love that train and the museum in Durango, but every time I see it I can’t help but remember all the fire damage it caused in 2018. My daughter did an environmental impact study of the fire retardant they used while she attended Ft. Lewis. Love/hate relationship with that train for sure. I miss Durango so much!!!!
Frankly, Shannon is a little scary. Chris has to make sure he's home on time now or Shannon's gonna be in a mood. Can he zip off on a whim and explore that unmapped forest road? Last year, sure! This year, not a chance. He has to hurry home, touch base, then go sit outside in the dark by himself. Can you feel the love? I mean, he could already sit in the dark by himself -- on his terms -- without the additional expense and without the tension. He's still getting great footage. Last week's episode was one of his best. He just needs to get her all the way in this thing or keep her all the way out.
I felt the same when I saw Chris sitting by himself outside the RV after hustling home to be there. It was also sad to see him at the RV door presumably and briefly talking to Shannon. I realize a lot goes on behind the scenes which we don't see, but the "look" of it is too cold.

Just phoning it in ... very unfortunate as this was the best TH-cam channel out there ... happy for him but the transition has been a struggle ... glaringly obvious his heart isn’t in the channel any longer ...
I totally agree. Each episode used to be shrouded in mystery on where he was going next but now it’s the same old thing. Film a few spots then bolt back to base camp. No story, no passion just “let’s get this thing filmed and uploaded”. Adventure is definitely NOT afoot!
Man i hate to say it but i agree. I know life always changes and it is a great think he has found companionship, because what is anything worth without someone to share it with, but it does seem like a rushed schedule and less content.
