I was there in real life! This was a truly epic concert! 2,5 hours of the most beautiful songs of Burt Bacharach sung by Trijntje! Her voice stayed so powerful, strong and beautiful throughout the entire song! You must look up the other songs! I would recommend “Waiting for Charlie”, “God give me Strength”, “Anyone who had a heart” and “This house is empty now”. They will blow you away!

Her Burt Bacharach CD’s are among my favorite CD’s. 😍 A good whisky, dimmed lights. Unfortunately, I don’t smoke cigars 😉
And this song is one of my favorites: A House Is Not A Home - th-cam.com/video/qiCMuRTRzmg/w-d-xo.html

You are right about the bugle 👍The sound of it is so much warmer than the sound of the trumpet. Beautiful song and played/sung very well. Love it! Greetings and keep up the good work. Love your channel! Btw...i was there 😍 Amazing concert! You should come to The Netherlands some day a visit some concerts. So many great singers and bands over here 😍🤩

It´s a Bb Flugel or Flugel Horn. I used to play it almost 50 years ago in a youth marching band. It has a mellow sound.

I'll second that, a flugelhorn it is. Here some distinction between the different trumpets.

I wasn't there, but I did see her perform with an orchestra once maybe around the same time. I also saw her a couple of times live with the band she had with her brother Tjeerd. Look them up: Total Touch, the band in which she started in 1996 and I became an instant fan. She's the sound track for my life as a mom; my son was born in 1996.
Trijntje is now married to Berget's brother and Edsilia is married to Tjeerd, Trijntje's brother. So they are truly sisters in every way!
She did a tribute album to Michael Jackson in 2009, all acoustic and it's really beautifully done. And she did a whole album with Stevie Wonder songs called For Once in my Life, to honor him. I like that album too. To be honest, I can't pick a favorite song of hers. She did many different things and genres. :) LJ

Yes, it is. The sound is warmer/rounder than a trumpet due to the tube being more conical instead of cilindrical. (It gets wider)

It’s called a flugelhorn. Chuck Mangione is probably the most well known flugelhorn player. You would enjoy his “Children of Sanchez” soundtrack. Trijntje Oosterhuis’ vibrato is amazing and, for her, effortless. She is Dutch and , obviously, sings in English perfectly. The first time I heard her was a suggestion from TH-cam. You would like Lara Fabian too. Same precision and pitch perfect voice. I loved seeing your reaction. 💜

This Bugle sound is really really beautiful. It fits this song perfectly as much as it fits the voice of Trijntje. It's been long since I've heard it. I remember hearing it a lot more a couple of decades ago. This warm soothing sound is ointment for the soul. And this concert was a real beauty!
