I just got the 2023 Vitpilen 401. The dealer told me when I come in for my 500m service, they have to UNLOCK the quick shift feature. It only has 6 miles on ot so far, since it was raining for my first ride home, there is a Hurricane type thing in FL right now. But my commute is 50+ minutes each way, I put 23k miles on my CBR 250 in under 18 months. The compression on this engine is very different, there is effectively no coasting. When you let off the throttle, it immediately starts to engine break. BTW, what is with these god-aweful indicators? Halogen for real?1 They're going to be the first thing to go.
2022 and just hit 621 miles exactly as I pulled in to my garage. I did get the service warning lights but still cannot access the shift lights. I guess I’ll try again at 622 🤷♂️
A very important service to point out is the " Check Valve and Shim if Needed " it is NOT the first service, it is NOT the srcond service,.. it IS the THIRD service! Alot of people claim it IS second service. No Longer the case, they extended it to the THIRD SERVICE
My dealership said to take it to an authorized service tech for the first “620 mile” service. They would set the service interval to the normal 4-5k interval, make the shift light accessible to me to change, and whatever else. Then after that I could do the service work myself. If it were me I would not want that service light coming in every 600 miles.
Hi great videos man. I just hit the 621miles on my 2022 Svartpilen. Q, why would you put your rpms so low manually when the rpms look like they can go to 13,000?
I am not sure they can go that high. I think 10 or 11k is all you are going to get. I was just messing around with the controls to show people how to adjust it. Thanks for tuning in!
@@SeanFillner thanks so much for the fast reply. Ah I see, It's odd then that the handbook doesnt actually give a max rpm but I'll investigate after my 1st service. I'll be keeping one around 7k and one at max for spirited riding 😁
Hi thanks for the video I wasn't aware that you could alter the shift light sensor (I guess need to read my manual) with regard to the 621-mile service point you are correct nothing happens to the performance of the bike, however, if you exceed this limit by say 200/250miles before you get the service completed then you may find that the manufacturer will challenge any potential warranty claim in the future and refuse the claim as you did not get the bike service in accordance with the manufactures instruction. I know this for a fact as my dealer in the UK warned me about this to ensure that I didn't go over the stated limit the rule of thumb is that the manufacturer will let you exceed the 621 limit by the distance of your journey from your home address to your dealer! Keep up the content really enjoying you videos
Some dealers activate the quickshifter when you buy the bike, some activate it at the 621miles or 1000km service. mine got activated at first service, cus the dealer recommeded this.
Oh and one more thing, i believe you can Actually put the bike in the " Super Moto " mode now as well. I believe it just Disables ABS to the REAR Wheel
I have 2021 svartpilen, hit 621 today. Flashing red light I wasn't expecting then all the sudden I heard a clunk in my engine like very obviously a weird metal on metal noise like it was stuck between gears or something then I shifted and the light turned off I thought something was wrong. But anyways I hate the quickshifter, mine clunks into every gear. Today it would go into neutral when I was downshifting from 2 to 1 and it got lost and acted funny a few times I'm disappointed. My yamaha r3 did this onetime too but never had these issues with honda or kawasaki. I think they took the technology too far on this bike I'm scared its going to break everytime I ride lol
Parking lots is where a lot of accidents happen. If you are going forward at slow speeds in the parking lot and need to stop, use the rear brake (keeps it upright). As they say in MSF courses, if you press the front brake and the handlebars are turned it will cause the bike to fall to the side that you are turned.
i love the new screen on 24 model

Love the quick shifter on both my bikes.
Which dealer did you pick yours up on I got mine from Sarasota

Yes! I agree checking the valve lash is VERY important. I see it in the service schedule here.

Uhm, you can do all of that yourself. IT is covered in the owners manual. Did you read the owners manual???

Yes. I have about 640 miles on the bike now and stopped riding it until I can get it into the dealership.
I am going to get adventure mirrors for my svartpilen too thanks!
They are junk. I covered this later on in the build series playlist for this bike.

I have always been able to put my 2022 svartpilen into supermoto. I would hate to have the abs disabled though.
@@SeanFillner i have not even tried. I just was reading you could only do it after first service, so there we go... Another piece of misinformation
@@dantediss1 I try to disspell as much misinformation as I can on my channel. Unfortunately most refuse to watch my vids so I can only do so much.

On the bright side neutral is Super easy to find every time you try 1st try
My biggest fear with bikes is total lockup of the rear wheel at freeway speeds....

Yup, I made that mistake. I was not thinking...
Hi, do know of any crash bars made for the 2022 svartpilen 401? Thanks!
Yes. T-rex but they are on back order.
@@SeanFillner they are back in stock, did you order them yet? if so could you do a video, thanks again!
Does it also have auto blip for downshifts?
Quickshifter has always worked for downshifts as well as far as I can tell.
It has quick shifter that works up and down with a slipper clutch. No "auto blip".
@@ePoot I don't know what an auto blip is TBH.
