I'm wondering if its actually scaling with software or if it's just using a trick to appear like it's scaling. For instance, Genesis can't natively scale but with software it can. Super Thunderblade and Space Harrier II don't scale but the Road Rash series does with good software "though it does cut back on the framerate" I think the Sharp is a bit more powerful, so I wouldn't doubt either.
I always wanted a X68000 - mainly for this and Strider. Thankfully now the 3DS got an arcade perfect port of this (along with the other major Sega coin ops of that era) we I can finally play them without the hastle and expense of purchasing and maintaining the older tech format like this. Although I would still consider getting an X68000 - but only if it was complete and in 100% excellent working condition.
I still want an x68000 to go with my saturn to have arcade perfect games at home, because i only plan on buying pcbs for game that never got 1:1 arcade ports on consoles or computers of the era you know.... these are the big boys of the arcade porting... :) !
***** the reason Sega didn't end up making more Thunder Blade video games is because the game's plot and setting resembles the Blue Thunder 1983 film (movie) and/or 1984 TV series it ran for 11 episodes Sega probably would have to pay Columbia Pictures (BT movie) or American Broadcasting Company (BT tv series) a license fee
Majoras Except for the fact that a 3DS has a screen for ants, while this version can be on a real monitor. That places it quite a few steps above the portable version in my eyes :)
This is what the Mega Drive version should've sounded like. This replicated the slap bass to FM very well, unlike the Mega Drive version. In fact, I think the Mega Drive version just sounds terrible overall.
The Genesis is "Super" which has actual weight and momentum to the helicopter. You can't just move it around like Pacman on demand. But besides that the sharp "and of course the arcade" are more impressive. If someone could combine the weight and feel of the Genesis version into the arcade version it would probably be the best game ever known to man. Hehe
Remember, this was done with *NO SCALING OR ROTATION INCLUDED WITH THE SYSTEM HARDWARE*

@@SmeddyTooBestChannel I honestly can't believe the quality of this port....

Incredible conversion!

Seen this version before - it always makes me smile - a job well done :-)
Blue Thunder!
Excellent conversion. Though, a few sound channels are missing.

"and probably the best port of this game period" that'll change once it releases via Sega 3D Classics for 3ds in may :D gonna be glorious

Best non-emulated version I think
Show this to Tiertex team...
Brutal reference. But agreed
Tiertex are well known to make mess, however i think usual extra tight deadlines and publisher choices like to favor ST version did not help
This is an amazing port of the arcade version! The Genesis/MegaDrive port was so terrible compared to this!
Actually, the Sharp X68000 version is closer to the Arcade version.
