Fan of the square hood? 🤔
I like square Lens Hoods that shields as much backlight as possible. But honestly, I do not care about the "look" of it ! For me it is all about practicality.
How is it too shoot with on? Did you notice any problems using it? Looks great, though!
Really nice to shoot with, feels good in the hand and compliments the camera really nicely. No issues I’ve noticed so far. Only thing I’d say was a bonus of the original hood was that you could actually attach a filter to it. Which you can’t do with this…
I have no problem installing it with a filter on the lens. Great video though. Keep it up!

Are you able to put a filter on with the hood?
Sadly it isn’t possible with this one. With the original hood it comes with it actually allows you to thread into the hood itself…
I also have the Lens Hood for the 40mm.f.2.5 and 24mm.f.2.8 🙂
Love it. I don’t have the 50 (yet). Do you feel too close to the 40? Or enough to add another kind of feel to your shots? 🤔
@@HannahYoungPhotography I have the 40mm 2.5 as my everyday carry and then a 50 F1.4 as a low light or when I want the sharpness/bokeh. I think the 50 would be far too similar to the 40 G.
@@HannahYoungPhotography I'm also in doubt if I should buy the Sony 50mm.f.2.6 because it might be too close to the Sony 40mm.f.2.5, so I can't help you here ....
@@JessDemant it is a quandary. I think a little too close. I use APSC crop mode a lot also which effectively gives me 60 (I think) on the 40. Albeit cropped.
