I would recommend you do some research on harnesses and teaching loose leash walking. That harness, and any harness that crosses over the shoulder blades can alter a dog’s natural gate, and, over time can cause some mobility issues. I think the best type of harness is a “y-shaped” harness, because it allows free movement of the shoulder blades.

As for crate training my golen retriever is 4 months and since we got him when he would take a nap we would put him int he crate so when he would wake u he woud realize that he didnt mind sleeping in there and that it was a safe place t rest and eventually for the first week or so when he was tired he would walk in there but he grew out of it bc he has loads of more energy now but most of the time when he knows its bed time he will walk into the crate himself, the first night we had him he slept in my room and to be fully honest it was a rough night and 1 or so i took him out to use the washroom but it was only that night the next night he slept through all the way!!

If we get a secondsog we are either getting a German Shepherd, another Aussie or a Golden. Obsessedwith your vids
Fun fact 2:58 before dogs were domesticated like especially the way they are in Developed countries, they would dig up holes in the ground like nests and sleep in them. It's not cruel for dogs to sleep in small cozy spaces, they like feeling cozy as uf they were in a nest.
I bought a crate for my first service dog when she was about 7, just to see what she would do. I left the door open and she started sleeping in it on her own. I made a crate cover for it and she loved it. She had her own space with her own bed, it made her feel comfortable and safe. Every time I gave her a kong, she would carry it to her crate and eat it inside. When she wasn't inside of the crate, my cats were. I had 3 cats at the time and all 3 of them would cuddle with each other. Crates are basically bedrooms for dogs (and cats too I guess.) I bought the biggest size crate they had, and I even started sleeping in it.. When Lola took over my bed, I would sleep in the crate, her bed was more comfortable than mine! Sometimes the cats would join me inside of the crate. I know it sounds weird to sleep in a dog crate, but it is so damn comfortable. I bought some string lights and put it inside of the crate and turned them on when I slept, they were blue and I slept like a baby! I don't recommend using lights in crates, but I trust my pets and I know them well.

I feel like everytime I watch your videos Cash is so calm and just doing his own thing? Do you have any recommendations in this field? My puppy doesn't seem to do well playing on his own
Was the 36inch crate enough room for him?? I’ll be getting my puppy in 3 weeks and not sure if the 36inch will be a good fit. We will be crating him until he is potty trained outside and then moving him to our kitchen blocked off!

Growing up our dogs always had kennels outside. Crates are just an inside version. That's how I always thought of it

I have a service dog that does light mobility and I use a Y front on him. It doesn't restrict his movement at all which is why I love it!
