In addition: Especially when driving long distances; #Check your side-mirrors regularly especially the left one because some roads are too narrow and you would't want your left wheels to go off the edge of the road. #Whenever approaching a curve, slow down and drive as close to the edge of the road as possible to prevent yourself from leaning on the opposite side of oncoming traffic. #When approaching oncoming traffic, steer slightly to the left to prevent yourself from leaning towards the oncoming traffic but watch out for the left edge of the road. #When driving at night with oncoming traffic that are dazzling you, drive slower and never focus on the headlights of oncoming traffic. #Also at night, switch your rear-view mirror to the anti-dazzle rear-view mirror so that the bright lights from behind are dimmed by the mirror and you won't get annoyed. #When driving long distances, always drive with your lights on to make it easier to be seen on the road. #Use cruise control if possible to get a relaxful drive and avoid getting caught on speed camera. #If you wanna know the following distance between you and the front car, look at the shadow of the car that passes by a road marking or sign and count from the time the front car passes by until you pass by that road marking or sign and that is your following distance such as 2, 3 or 4 second rule. NB: This method only works during daytime and at night-time you need to be caucious and focus on the rear lights of the car. #When overtaking, get as close as you can (but not too close) and accelerate as fast as you can (but not too fast) and check left side-mirror to ensure that there is sufficient space to return to your lane. #When you want to overtake CAR A and CAR B there is also another car in front of you CAR C that is trying to overtake CAR A and CAR B(not recommended) try to move slightly in the middle to see oncoming traffic and if clear continue to overtake CAR B and continue following CAR C and overtake him (if clear) and move back to your lane. There are a lot of tips that I could share but I feel like these ones are crucial for long distance trips. Some are risky (not recommended😂) but sometimes it's needed😂.
🥹🫱🏽🫲🏾 my favourite type of people!! Thank you so much man, these tips are really useful and I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate them. Happy safe driving 🏁🏎️💪🏾!!
Hi Nokuhle nice tips for novice drivers. If I may add onto your tips. Tip No 1 Purpose for switching the accessories is to ensure that, you don't overload the battery requiring more load power to start the car. Tip No 2 They say newer cars theres no need to warm them up however drive gentle until it reaches the operating temperature, I however prefer warming up the engine. Tip No 3 Tires have the wear indicator/ wear bars, it is advisable to replace before it gets to this level, also check for abnormal tire wear. Tip No 4 Switching off or lowering the radio, will assists to hear abnormal noise from engine, transmission, tires, bearings etc. Tip No 5 Checking for abnormal fluid spills, will identify leaks from engine oil leaks, transmission oil leaks, coolant leaks, brake fluid etc. Tip No 6 Driving with a lower engine revs, will save fuel consumption, prolong engine longevity. Although for Automatic if it works correctly it will maintain the correct gear for the correct speed. Certain cheaper model cars do not have the revolution counter. Tip No 7 It is advisable to check oil and water frequently. Certain models of car engine will consume oil even if new, so to wait for service intervals may result in engine damage. Certain models the fluid levels can be electronically checked as part of the display and will warn if levels are lower than normal. Tip no 8 Always check the tire pressure. If lower this can also result in the car steering to the one side. Some cars have the electronic tire pressure monitor. Tip No 9 There's always a debate whether there will be damage if you put a car on park before the hand brake pulling, however as long as the foot brake is fully pressed no damage will be caused to the transmission if you put it on park, and then hand brake. The driving school way is hand brake first then park position. The intention is to protect the automatic transmission parking pawls damage. Tip 10 If you stay in the coastal areas and want to keep car for long. Try to park in a shelter like a garage, if you can you need to trust proof your car under carriage. The rust on the doors and other panels can be replaced, however if the car is rusted underneath, very little can be done to restore.
Tip number 11 ..open your bonnet at least once a week and make visible inspections.. pull out the oil stick and check the level... brake fluid, power steering fluid, screen wash, no white deposits on the battery, and no foreign things in tour engine.... Tip number 12..start your car and leave it in idle for about 5 to ten minutes and listen to the engine... it should have a smooth stable sound with the rev counter around 900....
5:06 don't allow petrol attendant in there if you have a modern car, the car will tell you what it needs, then that can be done at the dealership if you have a motorplan.
If you wait for your car to reach 3000+ rpm each time to change a gear you are now aggressive driver/ racing. for a car to be above 3000+ rpm its when you press flat the accelerator and the car will be going to fast making it difficult for inexperienced drivers to gain full control of the incase there's a sudden traffic ahead and it chows petrol. Its recommended to always try and change gears each time your rpm is above 2000rpm. I think many cars now have gives alert for when to shift into higher gear on the speedometer

Most Important: Always check your Car Coolant level, it cools your engine and if it runs out, your car will overheat and damage the engine. Its one of the most expensive repairs you will ever do.
Hi. Great content, very precise and concise. I do not totally agree with the revs part. Revving the engine is necessary when carrying a heavy load, overtaking or going up a steep hill. The engine will not sustain any damage if you rev it to climb the occasional steep hill. It will just use more fuel.
Noted 🙏🏾👌🏾. Is your company registered (CIPC) or are you operating as a sole proprietor? (But maybe it’d be worthwhile for me to do both ☺️). I’ll put it on my list. So every time a dealership runs a credit check on you it notifies the bureau and if you run too many in a short space of time it will negatively impact your score because it comes across as if you’re “desperate for credit”. I can’t advise directly to your circumstance but I think just be careful of who you allow to run checks on your profile (don’t give them documents until you’re sure). Your engine is more happy at higher revs well keeping revs low gives you great fuel economy
When packing you put the gear on Neutral (N) before you pull the hand break the push the gear to Pack (P)
