Thank-you very much. Worked for me. A friend’s TV broke & I replaced the main board with 2nd hand one. TV worked again, but image was upside down. I followed your instructions & it worked! The “model code” in the video is for the LCD panel (on a sticker inside the TV on the between the PSU & system board) not the TV itself. When changing the model code, I was presented with a table that was easier to find the right code from.
Can you explain, exactly where to find this code number you refer to, that's inside the set. Is it marked as "Model Code number" on the sticker you say it's located on? Are you referring to a large sticker, being seen between the "power supply board, and the main logic board", and printed numbers in large bold numbers?

I am surprised. I took a chance and it worked. Didn't know the right model number, but went by the first screen size model, of the tv i Had fixed, and put a new logic board in. To make sure I could reset the set back to the number first shown in that setting, I wrote it down, so I could back-track if needed. My set was a 46 inch, and I stopped on the very first setting that said 46 at the beginning, and turned off the set. Fired it back up, and it worked like it should be working. Thank you for all your help. I spent a lot of time looking for the " HVflip" function, and never found it. Thanks for the help....
Thank you for this video. I had done some research on this before and suspected that the Type Code was the key to fixing it. I found a service manual on line and extracted all the possible codes for my 22 inch TV. Out of 5 possible values, the first one I tried worked!
Thank you. I got this to work on my Samsung UN65HU8550. I did take pictures on my cell of the current state of the Service Menu. The part number referred to next to "TYPE" in the location you referenced to in the Service Menu led me to a lot of part numbers (there were so many that they filled the entire screen). I just used logic and picked a number that was closest to the number already there. The only difference was it had a 65 in place of a 75. The rest of the part number remained the same. I then backed out of the Service Menu to the starting point and powered of the TV. I waited a couple of minutes, then powered the TV back on and the picture was back to normal. I must have watched your video 6 times, finally having to use pause a lot and rewinding to understand your video. Anyway, I got it to work and thank you again.
Saved me! I replaced the main PC board on my Samsung TV model UN40EH5000 after a lightening storm fried it. New board worked great EXCEPT image was upside down and no way to change it in normal user menu. I followed this video instruction to get to service menu and changed 'Type" code. I did not know what code to change it to but after trial and error found one that worked. Thank you!

Originally it used to turn on upside down but then i pressed the manual button and then it no longer turned on, now it just blinks on and off. and you press that button and all the functions are like before? there is a factory defaults but will not execute all the defaults like model code. i tried my self to fix the flip image and it didn t restore the model code; be careful

Before pulling the board I went back to service and took photos of each set of values for the main and had service number 50r6af1d on the first screen. It does not reverse until you power off, but I think you said that. Again tv repaired and thank you so much.

@@iTechnologyReviews thanks. It turned out that the model that I have has the feature but it is gray out and can't click it. So I contacted the company who purchased the matrix switcher from and their device has the feature of the panel flip and they were able to do it over the phone.

hi; are not only the first 2 DIGITS!!! Be careful what are you saying; the entire MODEL CODE matters; maybe this worked in your case
